I've never tried Muscle Milk from tha tub, but I did try tha RTD once or twice. I found it a bit bitter. I was surprised with everyone saying it tastes so good... Maybe it had to do with tha vitamin & mineral content they add to those.

The Banana RTD is damned good. The rest, I agree, there is a funky ass aftertaste. Only powder of theirs I tried was the Vanilla. Ultrapeptide is better, so is Substance Vanilla Bean.

I use to be able to drink Optimum's Whey Protein, but for some reason my stomach cannot handle it at all. Someone said it could be from the Aminogen in it? I have no idea though. I have tried a few different ones. Syntrax Nectar Lemonade- It is ok, but it leaves a battery acid taste in my mouth. Substance Grape- I cannot even drink it. I have decided against the fruit flavors, and will just go back to good old chocolate. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion, I will give Substance another try. The grape was so bad it makes me hesitate. I will let you know what I think. I imagine it taste's better in milk as well.

I was going to say Substance, but Ness beat me to it! Other excellent chocolates include Ultrapeptide chocolate if you want a casein blend and Dymatize if you want a WPC.

Yeah MM tastes great, but what your tasting aint the protein. Its got like 20 g of fat in it, and it better taste like a milkshake with that. I dont mind that part at all, but you are actually not getting much protein at all for your money and thats why i dont get MM anymore. Evopro is a good choice though.

I just got my ON's Chocolate Mint from the mail from BB.com today. Used to use ON's vanilla ice cream and then wal mart crap for a couple of months.

This stuff is freaking delicious. I make them just because they taste good, not as much because its part of my diet. The damn thing tastes like a milk shake, can't taste any protein.

ive only tried about 6 different companies protein powder and only like 2 or 3 flavours from each company. but so far MRM's Metabolic Whey (CHOCHOLATE) tastes the best by far, just like chocolate milk, even tastes great with water. its loaded with BCAA's as well so thats always a plus and it has barely any sugar.

As I've said in the past and will say again, when you add a SUBSTANTIAL amount of Fat and Carbohydrates to a product, it ceases to be a true protein powder and enters the realm of MRP. It is FAR easier to flavor a product like Muscle Milk than a product that is both very low carb and very low fat. Not saying MM is a bad product, just that it is not "ideal" either as a protein powder.

Cafe Mocha is good with everything IMO. Espically Oats w/Cinnmons & Cocoa powder. Buttered Toffee is bland but reminds me of toffee/spice Ice Cream.

It's a higher quality because its pure WPI, which is absorbed much quicker which means that it can be to your muscles quicker. Also, it is a high quality protein that passed lab tests by Mike McCandless.

As for WPI, Isopure chocolate tasted good but got old quick, vanilla was horrible. Substance grape and watermellon tasted great but the mixability was poor. So I gave Nectar a shot, and I thought it tasted great. Fuzzy Navel is my favorite...it never gets old.

That was my point. You've likely tasted very little. GNC's Mega Whey tastes on the order of a couple thousand times better than ON Double Chocolate...if all you've tasted is say ON Strawberry and ON Double Chocolate, of course Double Chocolate would be better as the ON Strawberry is right next door to nuclear waste. I understand your age and budget probably preclude protein flavor-hopping, but it is hard to attach much worth to your post when you have such a narrow sampling of the various offerings out there...

I don't make oats. I tend to use protein nearly strictly in shakes, though once in a while I will branch it out...

Blueberry with a bit of benecol and toasted Ezekiel Bread tastes like a high quality blueberry muffin.

My current #1 way to eat Sustain is straight off the scoop. It takes a bit of chewing to moisten up, but it's like brownie batter then. :D

Wow. My favorite Protein I've ever taken. Mixes the easist, goes down the easiest, doesn't bother my stomach, low carbs, no fat, very clean, and even on top of it all, tastes the best I've had. It beats Muscle Milk in every catagory, expecially price. Cheaper, get more, tastes better, doesn't bother stomach, and mixes easier. I'm done with Muscle Milk, ON Whey from now on.

Once again, it's EASY to flavor something with ample fats, carbs, and protein. It's harder with a lowcarb/lowfat formula.

Not that I've tasted all that many. But the ON that I've had is mediocre in taste. (Double Choc., Vanilla, C&C -blech!, Extreme Milk Choc.)

I'm a huge fan of Dymatize Elite. I've only had five of the flavors available, but all have been very good. Personal favs are Chocolate Mint, Cafe Mocha, and Butter Cream Toffee. I got a 10lb'er of the Toffee. Best I've had yet.

Maybe once this whole keto thing blows over (6 weeks and 5 days from now) I will be getting some muscle milk and jumping on the Cytosport bandwagon.

I agree that Dymatize Elite is vastly superior to ON, but disagree with your assessment of cost/quality.

A product like GF-Pro or Sustain is MUCH higher quality than Dymatize and what you pay for is what you get.

For some people, unfortunately, isolate is VERY necessary due to lactose intolerance. Additionally, the literature on the benefits of casein are very convincing.

I will concede that Dymatize Elite conquers the field for fine tasting WPC, but not that it's the "best" or that it is the best quality for price.

If there is one....well it is going to be a fairly neglible difference.

Dynamatize is an excellent choice and clearly superior to ON which for some reason continues to get trumpeted on this site as the be all and end all of affordable WPC/.


I actually like Isolates the best results ive ever had was from Natures best Isopure 50 g clear bottles back in the day......I was friends with a gym manager and because I bought all kinds of stuff there and threw him like 6 memberships via referral he agreed to sell me them for luck a buck.

They were amazing. Unfortunately 7-8 dollars a day for protein supplementation isnt all that attractive to me compared to 2 for Dynamatize and 1% milk.

Finally received XF's Ultra Peptide chocolate and it's awesome. I just tried mixing a couple scoops with a little bit of water in a bowl to make a pudding and it was really really tasty. I feel like having more. Best chocolate protein I've had by far. GF-Pro comes in second as far as chocolate is concerned. I'm an "old school" protein flavour consumer.

Syntrax Essence (vanilla), GF-Pro (vanilla and chocolate) all get my vote, too.

Alright been reading through this thread but had to ask a question anyways.

I am already ordering DS Sustain for pre-bed and SAN Infusion for an MRP. I have BSN Sytha-6 in the cart but can't decide if I should keep it?

I have been using On 100% Whey Gold Standard for a couple years now as my post-workout protein and my current tub is running low, so I was thinking of trying something new as many of you say there are alot better products out there now.
I am stuck between GF-pro, Substance WPI, Ultra Peptide, and Dymatize Elite as a replacement for a good post-workout protein.
Which would you recommend and what flavor would you recomend? Traditionally I'm a chocolate kinda guy but I haven't really tried many other protein flavors. I tried MuscleMilk cookiesN'cream and though I was going to vomit it was so sweet.

I take Purple Wraath pre/during workout if that makes a difference in what you recommend.

THe GF Pro chocolate is not that great IMO . Does not really come close to the other flavors your mild chocolate.

My favorite so far has been Max Muscles MAX Pro Protein Chocolate. It has tasted the best so far. Im takin Optimum Gold Standard Rocky Road right now and i kinda like it because it is light in flavor. I can tell they kept it to mostly protein substance and did not want to add alot of other stuff.
