hey guys....i need help..if you couldnt guess im going into the marines in january and no im not crazy anyways there are certain standards you have to maintain like crunches,flexed arm hangs and running my two biggest problem areas are the crunches and running. How can i pick up my speed and amount of crunches i can do in a short amount of time? is there a certain techinque to that i want to be able to do them but i hate feeling like i have to kill myself to get there.any suggestions.... and how about running... is there something i can do to improve my self in a short amount of time?

Start a program and stick to it is all I can suggest. If you did 10 sit ups on Monday...do 11 on Tuesday..12 on Wendsday..soon enough you will be kicken butt!
As for running that is about the same. Just puch yourself through the burn and focus on the result! You can do it!

Congrats on your decision. I went into the Army at 19 and thought it was a great life experience.

I'm glad you posted that Tracy. My sister has been trying to start a jogging program & hasn't been exercising any -- I'll send it to her. :)
