Back in May I competed and lost terribly, I went thru alot of emotions that night, and I had the show recorded but I decided to never even take a look at it. I came across it yesterday and im not sure if I want to watch it. I dont know if I want the psycological torture but at the same time, I think this would definitely get me back into the gym..... Opinions?

I'd try and look at it... it might be hard, but you will definately learn alot from it and be able to improve upon it. Plus, like you said, it'll be a good motivator for you to bust your ass in the gym

I don't understand...why do you give a **** if you lost terribly or not. I can understand being dissapointed but long term distress and emotions over it just isn't worth it. It's all a learning experince bro, you know what you did wrong and the next time you ever choose to compete you will do things differently and come into better shape. Get your ass back into the gym and sign up for another contest when you feel you are ready.

i also don't see why the contest caused so much pain and angst. did you lose to a competitor who was better than you? or did you get screwed? or did you not meet your own expectations?
you should be proud of yourself for having competed...your body is your trophy, not some piece of metal or glass.
and from reading the post...it sounds like you haven't set foot in a gym for the last 2 months, is this correct?
it seems to me that you might have some deeper issues than losing at a show. goodluck.

pick it apart analytically
What did I do wrong here
Does the camera show that I was fatter than I thought
Do I not show my best in each pose
Trust me, the camera doesn't lie
Learn from it
Losing is an opportunity to learn and get better
Who would work real hard if they won everything
That's why my hams and glutes hurt like hell today
