Sorry, I just had to try one of these threads. I've seen the "you know you're a bodybuilder if..." thread, I figure let's give this one ago, it's a bit more advanced and hopefully some of the "squirlly final week" guys can get a good chuckle.


You know you're ready for a contest when:

Your morning piss looks like a tablespoon of Mountain Dew

You sit on the toilet and feel 9 seperate glute striations filling the inner ring of the seat.

You stop calling it a competition and start calling it a "show"

You can eat 2 cans of albacore and a cup of oatmeal with no saliva or drink near by.

You spend 14 minutes in the Turbo Bed with the fan off and come out totally dry.

You actually take your shirt OFF!

You listen to the same 3 songs on your iPod while you train.

You dump your girlfriend for some ridiculous reason yet it never effects you.

cinnamon and flank steak, mmmm

You wear flip flops in January because tying your shoes is bull**** work.

dude...i can only hack squat about 230lbs and not in the strictest fashion (but i usually do them after squats and leg presses 8-10 sets each...i shoulder shrug 525 for 4-6 reps..no straps and i'm 5'10 168lbs...iuse 150lb db's for 6 also

Hey, that's swell. I was only 180 pounds @ 6'4 3 years ago, I'm proud of MY accomplishments, not YOURS. If you're just sharing, that's cool. If you're trying to flame, piss off.

you are ready when:

-you can't tell the difference between tuna and sawdust. They taste the same.

-you have nightmares about chickens(no joke)

-carb cravings are now accepted and you actually look foward to them because you know that overhead ab pose relies on it.

-you dont even have to think about what food to pack the next day...its now instinctual

-your clothes dont fit anymore and you couldn't be happier.

-you sleep 10 hours and wake up feeling like you got hit by a freight train

-that same freight train goes away when you look in the mirror and see another new cut line in your quads.

-people ask when your show is

-posing practice ceases to hurt because the adrenaline takes over

-finally, when you are standing completely naked in front of a mirrior painting your own ass. Yep. Thats when you are ready.
