Creatine, a new miracle supplement for many. It has the hype and results to back it up. It is the perfect addition to a person trying to bulk up. Im not saying that it is as good as protein, because protein is just more essential, but for an addition to protein, it is great.

Creatine is a relatively new supplement I would say. It was discovered a long time ago, but just recently, has it become the new craze. One problem I often encounter is the ignorance of people. I have noticed, that although it is well documented, people dont know anything about creatine. Many believe it is a pro-hormone and will have the same effects as steroids. It will give great results, but IT IS NOT A STEROID. Also, many people think that it is only obtainable from taking it in a pill, powder or liquid(dont take it in a liquid). Your body produces it naturally. Also, everytime you eat meat, you eat creatine. By giving yourself more creatine with supplements, you are just giving yourself more energy and a slight edge. You will not fail any drug tests. It is very safe. Basically, it is just more economical to drink a few glasses of water to get more creatine, instead of spending a lot of money on meat. Eat meat, everyone should, but to get the same effects as the glasses of water, it would be way too costly.

I hope that people realize that creatine is safe and natural. If you want an extra boost, feel free to take it. It is a great supplement and would be an excellent addition to anyones stack.

i totally agree with you, i was a little skeptical before i started taking it but when i did right away i noticed my energy in the gym jump. i have only had one bad day in the gym (got tired and out of energy) since i started taking creatine almost 2 months ago.
all of my numbers have gone up and my weight has gone up about 5lbs or so (havent gained too much). but i do look fuller and my abs stand out as do all of my muscles so perhaps i lost some bodyfat.
creatine is a great supplement in my opinion. anyone who wants to try creatine: dont give into those media flash stories that say creatine is bad. look at all of the research done before making a conclusion.

Well I'm thinking of taking it but I'm really allergic to aspirin and I wanted to know if it has any aspirin in it? Sounds stupid but I really need to know. Also how many times and when do you take creatine in one day? Thanks

take four 5 gram servings at even intervals throughout the day for 5 days. Then take one 5 gram serving immediately following your workout for maintenance. Stay on creatine for 4-6 weeks and then cycle off for 2-4 weeks before going on again.

I personally recommend (although as many things in this realm, things do change from person to person :P), taking your 5 grams of creatine about an hour or so BEFORE your workout.

Powdered Creatine supposedly takes about an hour to enter the bloodstream, and from there on, stays in your bloodstream for about an hour and a half. This way, you can start working out when the creatine starts entering your bloodstream, and when you use the creatine in your muscles, your muscles will have reserve to absorb from the bloodstream. Also, assuming an hour-long workout, you'll also have some creatine in your bloodstream to continue to restore levels after your workout.

It's hard to determine exactly when to take it. There's not much real, hard, data on this--just try out a few things and see what you like!

i heard it's better taking the 5 grams of creatine after your workout because your insulin levels are high and the creatine gets absorbed faster into your muscles.... anyone hear about that?

I take 5 grams when I wake up, and 5 grams before I go to sleep. I take creatine for 8 weeks on, then 4 weeks off.

One of my friends constantly asks me if "I'm still on steroids" (referring to Creatine). What scientific facts can I really give him to get him to shut the **** up about Creatine being the same as sterioids?

Creatine is nothing like a steroid. Steroids are testosterone or testosterone derivatives. Creatine is not a hormone at all.

I personally disagree that Creatine gives an energy boost, but that's just my opinion. Right now, i am on my first ever creatine off cycle. For 2 years or so, I took it daily and now am going to start doing cycles instead to increase the effectiveness. I have been off it 3 weeks or so and see no energy loss at all. The end of the first week I did notice my weight was down 10 pounds(ouch!), and I lost about 30 pounds on my bench press and other lifts. However, I have gained that weight back with a little extra calories, and I gained the strength back too.

When I start my cycle again, I should notice a 10 pound increase(making me 10 pounds heavier than last use), and I should get new personal records in strength. Or at least I hope. :)



Another problem I noticed with creatine is it really gave me TOO MUCH endurance. I know you are saying "too much endurance, is this guy crazy?". But, with the extra endurance, I really feel like I was overtraining much of the time on creatine. On my off cycle, I am noticing that I get tired a little faster, but my strength is slowly surpassing where I was when I was on creatine. It's almost as if my mucscles are thanking me for training less hehe.

So I guess my basic point is, for me personally, creatine didn't really give me more energy per se, but endurance, yes. Be careful not to overtrain on creatine, because it can be very easy to do so.

So if the body produces creatine, then how long should one take creatine before their body begins to produce less creatine or halts altogether. I took a container full of creatine, then right after started on V12, I finished the creatine one 10 days ago. I seem to have less energy and less drive in the gym. Could this just be that I'm missing the pump or that my body stopped producing creatine altogether. I would appreciate an educated answer.

It doesn't really work like that. Your daily diet should also supply you with enough creatine anyway. Your body won't go into any kind of "Creatine Deficit". Don't worry about it.

Basicly Creatine helps your muscle fibers store water better when you cycle off of it you might notice a small decrease in weight due to lower water retention in the fibers.I use creatine, I don't cycle it, I normaly take it after a workout in my protien shake. Have'nt done it for a week.

I think creatine is good for bodybuilders, but not for people who play high-intensity sports such as football. One of my coaches play for Louisianna Tech and started taking creatine in the offseason. He said it did wonders in his strength gains, but when spring training came around, he was getting owned because he lost a lot of flexibility and cardio-vascular ability, even though he did as much running, wieghtlifting, and stretching as any other person on the team.

I'd just think I'd post this for those athletes out there who are considering taking creatine for their sport.

What works for me is to take a heaped tea spoon of creatine first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. That boosts my poundages if I work out a few hours later. It feels weird to get a strength boost without feeling more androgenic & adrenal.

WAT IS LOADING??? I AM JSUT GONA BUT CREATINE AND USE IT BUT I KNOW NUTHING ABOUT LOADING NOW DONT TELL ME THE WHOLE STORY JUST TELL ME i do exricse 5 dayz a week when i should take creatine?? wich time and how much and wat is loading i dont get it plz make me undetand it in easy words and is it if i take creatines for 8 weeks then the other 4 weeks i should not eat it ..??

I got a question too. People who gained lots of muscle mass while taking creatine, do you credit most of your results to creatine?

And, I don't think creatine helps you lose weight. I hear it helps you treat herpes though. ^^

I take my creatine before and after workout, I feel it gives me energy, but maybe its just a placebo effect when I mentally trick myself into thinking that I have excessive amounts of energy.
And make sure you do take it on an empty stomach, I had a big meal then took it, bloody oath, I was ****ting my guts out.

erm no offence but i didnt like that article too much, it didn't offer too much good info x,x i mean if its a waste of money to buy creatine and eat alot of meat instead, it would probably cost about $5 a day for the meat, giving only 6 days' worth of creatine for 30 bucks. So why spend 30 bucks for 6 days of creatine, less than aweek, when you can buy it in supplement form, like a powder, which can last over a hundred days depending on the brand? And if you get the same effects just by drinking water, you would think the guys preparing for contests would not try to get rid of all the water. Creatine is created in the liver and the kidneys by 3 different types of acids. It is much much easier to buy creatine you can take with grape juice that takes under a minute to prepair than buying some meat which can take up to 30 minutes. You get more for your cash, and its more convenient too. Also you can only load up to about 5 grams more creatine effectively into your body, cos the rest then isnt used. How would you feel if the meat didnt even have the amount of creatine that can be effectively used? or what if it had mroe, and you were wasting creatine? Sure water is good , but it isnt the reason creatine is made. the muscles are like 70-75% water, this water gets transported in the creatine. therefor, if you have morecreatine in your system, you can drink more water to give your muscles a bigger edge. So if your tellign people to 'drink water and it has the same effects of creatine' you have completely mis understood. only drink alot more water if you are taking creatine, because if not, its just a waste of water. hope it lifted a lil light on the subject
