So how accurate are the "calories burned" on machines. If I put in my weight and such, would I be good to say I've burned +/- 25 cals to what it says.
P.S. Lately I've been doing the staircase thingy (not sure what it's called) and it royally kicks my butt :)

No, they are inaccurate. Probably by a lot more than +/- 25 calories, but that will of course depend on how long you stay on the machine. The more minutes you do, the more likely it is to be a huge difference at the end.
If you are hung up on the numbers, get a heart rate monitor.
My suggestion it to ditch trying to calculate the actual number anyway and just ensure you are working your a$$ off when you are doing your cardio. Always work out of your comfort zone!

yes the stairmaster thing will definetly kick your butt... works you much harder then most of the other machines
