Is Pro Tan Instant Competition Color what you buy? I have heard that you apply 3 or 4 coats of protan, the few days preceeding the competition, and then Dream Tan the day of (before morning and night shows). Is Pro Tan Instant Competition Color the protan they are referring to?

Also, does anyone use the Gold Brown Dream tan, or is it too light?

Yes the Pro Tan Comp. Color is what people use. Also, "everyone" likes to use Dream Tan #2 (I forget the color).

This is my protocol-
Dream Tan 2-3 coats on Thurs (start after working out). Don't shower! Go to sleep with it on. Then 2-3 coats on Fri.

Apply Dream Tan Fri Night and sleep with it. On wakening or in the AM apply Dream Tan again and then apply as needed before the competition.

I found that you can never put too much Dream Tan on (remember: can never be too dark). I apply Dream Tan all throught out the contest day and I've had lots of success.

Good luck

What org are you competing in? If it is NPC the judges aren't too fond of DT.

Well, it is Canadian, and the promoter (one of the judges) actually suggested DT, so i think it is ok, :D

That sucks dude! I have never competed before, but I sure hope I don't look too too bad in Dream Tan. I just had a mad posing session...geeze it is hard to hold some poses for long times.

Here is just a pic of me with Dream Tan...if you're lean nothing will "soften you up" (unless you start cutting water and eating salt like a mad man)...

I've gone from using protan for a week then dream tan to not using protan at all and just using dream tan and I have to say that I'll never use protan again. If you're using DT there is no point. The DT will just cover up whatever PT you used. I looked great using just DT #2. That's my 2 cents.

HHmmm, I will definately keep that in mind, maybe just use less protan beforehand.

ANOTHER QUESTION

How does everyone do their face? Just the same as the rest of the body? I have been told to not protan/DT the face and use make-up...any truth to that or will face be fine for DT and PT (I will be tanning before all of the PT/DT anyways)

I to started putting Dream Tan on Wednesday night. I had the best color I ever had, and the best color at the show by far, you can never be to dark. For my next show, im not even gonna waste my time or money with pro tan, dream is the way to go.

So is the DT permanent color? DO you wash it off a couple times if you apply it starting on Wednesday? Procedure? one coat a day, and then one the day of?

Another bump with these questions

Say I wasn't gonna use protan at all, and just DT, when should I start applying it? And is one tub enough for many coats? Do i start friday with a couple of coats, shower any time, then apply again Saturday morning? Any thoughts? anyone?

At my last comp I showed up white, then put the DT on, one coat, that's all I needed. DT is not a stain, it's more like a paint or cover so there's no need to put it on early and let it sit like Pro Tan. However, if this is your first time I think I'd still use PT just because it's good practice and it helps mentally.

One tub is enough for 1 comp, I can get 2 out of one but it's close. Do not shower with DT unless you're trying to take it off.
