I hate to start another shoulder injury post considering the 5 others i see on the page. I did use the search engine though and have been reading for hours now. I was hoping to describe what I am feeling and see if anyone else has felt it before or can give me advice. I am going to see a doctor which is probably the best advice.

So, about 5 months ago I was playing handball and swung across my body. I felt a pain in my upper tricep area for a couple of days. I tried to bench and work through it but that only made things worse. I have been away from the gym for 4 1/2 months now. I had an MRI on my tricep which came up negative. I continued to play softball and other sports throughout the 4 months, never really getting full rest. The arm feels very weak and now I think i have totally aggravated something.

Right now my symptoms are a burning sensation under my armpit and towards my upper tricep/shoulder. The burning feels like somebody rubbed icyhot on my armpit.. It is a burning but also cool tingling feeling... If that makes any sense. I went to the doc today who tried some R/C tests. I seem to be able to resist his force when pushing on my arm straight in front of me and to the side. The pain is intense when i hold my arm straight out and rotate it as if i was turning a door knob. I get a sharp, uncomfortable pain in the back of my arm. So, I have not been using weights for 4 1/2 months but have continued to play sports.. The pain was tolerable up until a couple of days ago when I guess I really aggravated it... Any advice would be great... Thanks!

try a good massage therapist... tell them to work teres minor, teres major, infraspinatus, and sub scapularis. do deep tissue massage with stretching. if you need any other advice feel free to email me. I have had to fix at least 5 shoulders this year..and now mine is doing the same thing.

good luck

The issue witht he rotator cuff has become huge. I think everybody builder and athlete should prioritise rotatr cuff training, I can see the disasterous effects it's havng on people.
