I need to understand 1 thing.Currently i am on 200+=240 g of protein a day, and 120 g comes from food and 80 g of protein comes from whey(2 shakes of 40g each). Can I take more then 2 shakes(2x40g)? for example: i get 120 g of protein from food and 100g of protein from whey?
What is the % of the whey intake vs Daily PRotein intake?
Thanks!

There is no actual % that says you need to consume this much protein rom whey and this much protein from whole food. However, its best to not rely on supplements and try and get as much of your protein as possible from whole foods.

whey protein itself is used because it is fast-digesting, perfect for post-workout and in the morning time. its only used as a supplement. if at all possible, real food should be eaten in my opinion. whey should only be taken when it can be used to its full effect, or else you might as well be eating regular food.

you could take whey at night with some kind of fat to make it take longer to absorb. i would stay with regular foods, for the most part, but i have to say i take a shake at night alot of times cause i am too lazy to make anything else.

I've found that whey shakes help when you're craving something sweet(er). Ditto w/ protein bars.

I agree with the morning and post workout statements though. But if you catch yourself in a bind cravings-wise and don't wanna cheat, I think drinking a whey shake may be a good option.

When in a bind I take in about 6-8 scoops per day maybe 10, other then then try to get as much from real food as I can

The reason most people recommend real food as opposed to whey powder is that real food keeps you full longer. If you got some fiber/fats with your whey, it would be much better satiety-wise.

Im using whey with up to 4 of my meals for the day. Sucks when you dont have access to anything but a microwave and are on a very busy schedule. But oats and whey and a multi get the job done.
