Caught the last jerk too low. I'm not strong that far down.

Great work raffiki

You owned the first rep. Had great speed getting under that 2nd jerk - I bet the insane work your doing with OH squats will let you recover from that depth down the line.

No split jerk?

How long have you been training for?

Also, is this 230lbs or kilos, b/c if those are kilos then that's sick.

230lbs is still nice though.

JLC - I'm going a little less insane on those. Just 5x5. :D

ehlpitel - I've found I do better with the power jerk. About 2 1/2 years. It's 230lbs or 105kg.

Thanks mochi!

wazzles - Do you need IT support?

Spin - Thanks, the second clean was a little tough. My legs were still tired from Monday's front squats. I'm going easy on squats next week. Should get 230 or 235 for a double.

What's easier about the power jerk for you rather than squat jerk, I guess?

Haha, yeah... I'm afraid so.

Try and hit that 235 for a double. Step it up a bit from last weeks workout. You can do it. :)

Nice work!

Also interested to hear your thoughts on why you prefer the power jerk as opposed to the split jerk.

The squat jerk is whole other story. You can see that I caught the weight at about parallel, but it just crushed me. I don't have Dimas/Khakiashvili strength yet. :D

No... I couldn't watch the video. My computer doesn't like to play quicktime stuff. (Which is what an embedded video is.) So it's your front squat that's getting you down? :D (No pun intended.)

Just a simple test. When I first tried power jerking I could do about the same as the split. My split jerk was pretty good, form-wise. I am also more stable with a power jerk.

In theory, they say you can get a better drive if you aren't doing a split after. So even though I lost a little bit of depth with the power jerk, I guess it was compensated by the extra drive. I've been working on getting more depth in the catch. Now I have the depth, but need the strength to recover.

230kilos is over 500lbs...

but great work, you barely missed the second one, both cleans were great as well, whats your height/weight, dont seem too large so im guessing 230 is about 120% of your BW?
