I'm trying out for a semi-pro football team, and they're testing the 3 cone drill. I've never done it before, how far apart should the cones be, and what's a good time for it for a WR/DB? What's a bad time?
O, and what's a good time and what's a bad time for the 20-yard shuttle?

The cones are 5 yards apart. I don't know a good/bad time for 3 cone or 20 yard shuttle. I have done a 20 in 4.78, and that was my fastest ever. I don't know my fastest 3 cone, but go on youtube, and look up Joe DeFranco, and he has some people he has trained doing the 2 drills. I think that they have good times, or he wouldn't show them off like that. Hope that helps. Good luck with your semi-pro team, as I am doing the same thing this year.

I hate the 3 cone drill. I practice it once a week, but I always have trouble with the first cut.

you have some solid stats. are you looking to eventually get into an arena league that pays?
i haven't played any highschool ball unfortunately because of an illness i'm getting over, but i am dedicated. can you join a semi-pro team with no experience?

Thanks. I hope a I can adjust to the weather. The first time I saw snow was my freshman year of college, and I thought it was ****en cold (15 degrees). I know Michigan will be alot worse, especially since I have lived next to the Gulf of Mexico most of my life.

uhh i'm from Massachusetts's it hit 90 in OCTOBER a few days ago and during football practice and we were pretty upset were use to like 40-50.. it just climate youll adapt, and the cold is better for the big guys you basically sweat less ..... freshmen year the varsity thanksgiving game day (they let the freshmen dress and freeze) had a FOOT of snow on the ground before it started and about another foot by the time it ended

I found that team to actually be in Ohio, apparently there is a Butler county on the south west side of Ohio aswell as a Franklin High school. because i looked at the roster and all of them were from either middletown or dayton, OH.
bummer lol
did you check out the western pa warhawks? they're pretty close to you. there's another team that plays at plum highschool but i forget which one.
