When you say "hammer MTS decline bench" What does the MTS mean?
Also "WG pulldowns" I think I know what a pulldown is but whats WG?

Are you any better than I am at golf? My slice from hell is so bad I aim at a roughly 45 degree angle to make up for it. It usually works, but sometimes the ball ends up in someone else's fairway

if i get this assist. pro spot, he said i could play daily after my shift, as the golfers love playing with the staff(plus its free for me lol)

im seriously gonna try and at the very least practice(range, putting green, etc) if not play a minimum of 5 days a week, if not 6 or 7 weather permittiung

so that hurt lol

my good shoes were at my dads house, so wore a backup pair..tore both my achilles up from a harsh edge

lost a callous/blister on my right thumb on 16, that was annoying the last few lol

overall, played like it was my first time out this year(which it was)

greens havent been cut really, so didnt practice any and didnt take too much time with them(dont wanna get used to that slow of greens).

first hole...nice powerfade with the driver, 75 yard stinger SW to 15 feet, easy 2 putt par. rest of the day was up and down...id make par one hole, then try a new shot and make double the next lol

got stuck playing with an old guy i caught from 3 on, so that was odd

winds were ridiculous x 10....it knocked me off balance a few times it was gusting so hard. didnt bother hittin any warmup balls or stretching, just went, so my front 9 wasnt that great lol

shot 47  on the front, 39 on the back...a ho-hum 86 on the day

4/14 fairways hit(many more just missed), only 3 greens in regulation(1 under regulation...driver, 8 iron, 3 putt par on a par 5...ouch), and 37 putts rofl...

my average last year was more like 10/14 fairways, 7 greens, and 27 putts

so, score sucked, but had some REAL good shots, executed some new things well, and had fun. for first time out in 6+ months, not bad. couldve easily been a low 80s/high 70s round with better greens and a warmup beforehand

this is not a score to expect to see again this year, so dont worry about that :D

yeah, its embarassing to pos that score :/

mostly my fault too...was trying the new things I had learned, but didnt buy into some 100%....when i did, it worked...when i doubted, i hit alot of fat shots yesterday with the wet grass. good greens though, the birdie putt at 1 and eagle putt at 14 were both makeable. coulda been a good day :)

gonna play again(weather permitting) tomorrow

today's 53 and sunny, but i havent slept yet thanks to this paper im writing, then i have class tonight and work after...so i gotta get some sleep :(

tomorrows 43 with chance of rain. friday 39 and cloudy.

ok, so ended up working a midnight/day double...then went and played golf...in the rain/sleet lol

3/27

all day...rain
first 4 holes...rain
holes 5-7...rain/sleet mix
holes 8&9.....hard, icy, pure sleet

after hole 9 - thunderstorms lol so had to cut it at 9

3 fairways, 2 greens, 15 putts...41

3 bogeys and a double(hazard), 5 pars

overall played much better than tuesday....putted better, chipped better...irons and stinger shots were ALOT better

for literally being pelted with ice while playing..putting through slush and standing water....having just been up all night and worked 16 hours...and being wet and frozen....ill take a 41 lol

well, that can get quite difficult and complicated, but generally

Par 4/5:
1st shot - driver
next shot - fairway wood(3w, 5w, 7w, etc) or iron
chip - wedge
putt- putter

alot is gonna depend on generally how far you can hit a certain club too, especially from the fairway and on par 3's

18 holes in 2 hours flat :D (yes alone, yes empty course)

4 fairways
3 greens in reg
27 putts

39-38: 77

notes:
-had to rush to catch one group to play through, threw my timing off all day
-poor ballstriking, but awesome chipping and putting = good scoring
-left 2/3 birdie putts short by 1 revolution that were DEAD CENTER lol
-playing an event at my new club in the AM with the members...yes getting paid to play golf(salary position) :D
-got a new putter tonight, Nike Ignite. VERY nice feel, and an upgrade over the putter I have new
-got some new pro V1 blacks for tomorrow too

4/5

played an exhibition with the mens club at my new course...first round there in like 3 years. needless to say, it didnt go overly well not knowing distances, where water was, etc

course rating: 74.3
slope: 137

43-42: 85
3 fairways(lol)\
3 greens in reg(LOL)
28 putts
1 birdie

notes:
-had some good holes and a few big ones
-bought a new putter last night, a Nike ignite. putted very well with it!
-its a links style course...need to learn to play out of tall heather grass, and links in the wind.
-if i knew the course better, wouldve been a much better round

BPP

4/5: round 2

9 holes at another new course, havent played it since a high school meet

shorter course, but lots of trees, and emphasis on shot placement

40
3 fairways
1 green :(
13 putts

notes:
-had to walk with a pull-cart...didnt eat between rounds...was spent by the end(yes dehydrated majorly)(yes forgot to take water)
-struck the ball pretty well, but kept missing the greens and having to rally for par....greens havent been touched here yet, so the ball rolled real ****tily, and it was hard to get anythint to fall with all the bumps

course rating: 69
slope: 121

putting practice x 30 minutes

went out to play, got in 4.5 holes with a 2-handicap and 5-handicap member before a storm rolled in and we had to quit

1 - fairway, green in reg, 1 putt birdie from 12 feet
2 - 2 putt bogey from 20 feet
3 - 1 putt par from 10 feet
4 - fairway, 2 putt bogey from 10 feet(lipped out)
5 - fairway ~90 yards out when we stopped

so +1 through 4 holes. I was beating them both too :(

oh well, had some fun, hit a few good shots, and putted well

putting practice: 20 minutes

then played 18 at my course

40-39: 79
8/14 fairways
7 greens in reg
29 putts

4 drives over 290(not bad for 50 degrees and a wet course with 0 roll)

had a GREAT stretch to end the front/start the back. holes 7 through 13 I went:
birdie
par
par
par
bogey
birdie
par

still a bit inconsistent. on 3 holes i pull-hooked drives into water hazards trying to over-hit it...so this 79 could have been alot lower. I did drain 4 par or birdie putts over 20 feet though :) including a 30 footer for birdie, and a 25 foot downhill putt to save par.

solid round, happy with it for now..kinks in the swing stil lgettin worked out, once I get everything readjusted(distances, shot selections, get these new shots down, etc) i'll be very solid

yeh.....tiger might've caught a break. the winds are down right now and the course is wet, and hes almost done, but the winds are supossed to pick way up later, makin it harder for the leaders

That should give some of the guys in the middle a chance to move up a few spots....guess we'll see.

Anything goin on today Pop? ****ty weather?

no, it was decent, but i was too busy

i was up last night til4am workin on a big research paper

worked today 11a-close(8pm)

on the way to the library for more research/writing, had a big accident happen in front of me, so had to provide aid and wait for PD to give witness statement

then worked on my paper at the library 9-12(close)

now im home and working some more(its due at 630pm tomorrow, but its gonna be 65 degrees and 25mph winds, so i wanna golf!)

I did do ~20-25 minutes of stretching throughout the day at the golf course(was the starter for awhile for a league) and did alot of walking/bending/cleaning of carts to help the cart kids for quite awhile

ive spent every free minute of the past 2 days working on my research paper due tonight....wrote a fantastic piece on the treatment of arab-americans post 9/11, and other than a final revision and summary(~20 more min work) it's done. I busted my ass for 2 days b/c today is gonna be 65 and sunny here! i wanted to GOLF before class

not only do I wake up from a sore throat(thanks to being in the high wind yesterday for awhile starting that league off), but my wife locked her keys in her car. and her spare keys are at her parents house. so she took MY CAR to a meeting in chicago.

usually i hit the ball so high I can flop it over...but the trees were so grown over THAT wasnt even an option :(

thats exactly why ive been working on irons so much..my weakpoint is my iron accuracy...if i can get my greens in regulation up and not have to rely on my very good short game so much, my scores would drop quickly

i was about ready to try titleist's new ap1 forged irons, but now im starting to hit these so well  i think im gonna stick with my callaways through my first playing test and see how I do, and go from there

switched my irons over with my dad, played the back 9 with a few year old titleist blades, and theyre MUCH nicer than my callaways

18 holes: 81
6 fairways
5 greens
28 putts

weather:
60 degrees, 20-30mph winds

front 9: 44
4/7 fairways, 2 greens in reg, 15 putts
worked on some things, and got going at the end. what hurt was both par 5's were DEAD into the wind...and when theyre 510 and 550 to begin with lol, it makes for a long hole..also had 4 penalty strokes as I started double bogey, bogey, par, triple bogey lol

then made par on 11 of the next 14 holes, including 8 in a row

back 9: 37
2/7 fairways, 3 greesn in reg, 13 putts
hit the ball alot better....in reality it was 5/7 fairways, but with the wind it kept carrying 1-2 feet into the first cut. irons were MUCH better, and putting got hot. this 37 without the wind could've easily been a 34 or 35, as the wind cost me a few

overall played quite well, and on a day with good conditions and playing with the titleists like I did the back 9, I couldve shot low 70's today

I think I'd be happy to break 50 with that kind of wind...hell, I would be happy to break a solid 55 with that wind and course length. Sounds like your game's kicking all sorts of ass when you're on

chipping is my specialty...used the wind to my advantage....into the wind threw flop shots right to the hole and spun them back...with the wind played low runners, or flopped it into the hill to kill it

3 greens in regulation(3 of last 4)
13 putts

on the last par 3, a 135 yarder uphill, I hit a 3/4 9-iron to within 3 feet....just absolutely stuck it, 1 hop and a stop

if it didnt stop it was right on line for the hole too :( lol

good day...started with 2 straight bogeys but bounced back at the end

5/3

front 9: 41 (4 fairways, 3 greens, 16 putts)
back 9: 37 (4 fairwasy, 5 greens, 15 putts)
79

not bad...it was drizzly and 20-30mph winds all day...played very well, struck the ball beautifully, just didn't score...putts wouldn't fall today

-between every dif. exercise, raised the treadmill's speed by 0.1mph
-knee felt pretty good today, even golfing
-1-leg sldl holding dbs in front of you(other foot behind you off ground for balance) are hard!
-did alot of balancing/1-leg type stuff for golf purposes
-DB russian twists(holding 1 DB in front of you) are freaking HARD compared to holding a plate
-done at the apartment's gym, largest DB = 50lbs

Clearly

think my swing issues are much better

switching irons helped ALOT....going to a blade instead of an off-set cavity back basically eliminated any hooks with my irons....if I missed a green today, it was b/c the winds were 20-30mph and im still learning my distances with these clubs, esp. on touchy wind shots

driver was on today...of the 6 fairways I missed, 3 either were within 5 feet of the fiarway in the first cut(ran through sideways bc of wind), 1 was through the fairway long, and 2 were overly cut while trying to power fade the ball

on a 380 yard par 4, downwind...drove the ball 30 yards from the green :D

ive wanted to do this for awhile this way, its just hard unless you have a gym to yourself. instead of sitting around between sets, I hopped back on the treadmil...it let the muscle being used rest while keeping the heartrate up and getting the cardio out of the way in small chunks versus 1 long boring session

I am deciding on doing this, however, with jump rope. Many have given me the idea and with the upcoming football season underway, I think it would be a good time to start it up.

understandable! My solution: NO CARDIO!!! haha!
