Either your shoulders are not big enough, or you're doing something wrong in your lat spreads, since the shoulders should be more prominent in them. Otherwise you look to be doing just fine.

I think you might need some more mass in your triceps...they look a bit flat in your side chest pose. Anyways, how big are you? You look about 5'11 or 6', anywhere around 185-200? Am I anywhere near being correct? lol. Looking good.

yeah i agree with gibblets...u need alot more mass on ur triceps. im not being a stiffler but hey, this is what were here for to give u advice. im not going to sit here and say ur perfect when ur not. u got about a month left so work on the detail of ur abs and stuff and just lean the freak out...but when u do triceps, focus on mass workouts. also need to bring those abs out. u have low bodyfat just need the detail.=weighted abs and tons of them.

Hey bro, I know that Mitch is prepping you. You're doing Caveman Classic? We'll have to meet up. The auditorium that Caveman is held at is my HS auditorium. It's real nice, Layne can vouch for that.

Well I'll probably be w/ my buddy Shawn. You can come out to eat w/ us if you'd like. That's probably what's on the agenda. Ahh moronic post of mine for the day. LOL I forgot you're doing a show. Well you can watch us eat and hangout if you want LOL.. I'm a moron

I stopped weighing myself after Tuesday, but I dropped about 8-10 lbs between Tuesday and Saturday, even with the carbup.

don't overload potassium, that is such a huge myth. Not only can too much potassium also make you retain water, but if you take too much it can stop your heart (Mike Matarazzo).

I didn't add any potassium. The only muscle that cramped was my calves.

Whats up guys.... I just got back here from the caveman. It was a big show as i expected. Excellent show by that. In my class there were like almost 15 guys i think.
I placed 5th place. I made the first call out, and maybe could have beat a few other guys , but there was alot of good size there. I was ripped to the shreds, but mass just couldnt touch a few guys in my class.
Here are a few pictures.
Im on the far right of the side tricept and bicept poses.
And the last is me with our guest poser at like 10 tonight.
give me your thoughts and opinions. Was a huge experience. Got compliments on my conditioning all day, which is what i went in there trying to do knowing my 6 foot height wouldnt hold the mass against the other guys.

Hey there NIU. I placed 3rd in your class im to your right in both those pics. I think we both commented that we had the same posing trunks at the night show! I must say your chest vascularity and the leanness in your upper torso is/was phenomenal. Congrats on a great job. You doing the missouri states next weekend?

I had not planned on it. Didn't know how competative it was and thought it was only for people that live in missouri.

Congrats Michael, you looked awesome. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet up with you. I would have liked to have set something up or gotten your number so we could have met up. I was at a wedding all day on Friday and got home late. Richard Jones is a great guy and has an awesome physique. He's a very personable guy, real friendly.

Great Job Michael!
Now its time to rest and recover for a bit, then hit up that clean bulk and take advantage of your body wanting to use those extra calories the right way! Remember this is your time to rest, and grow!
Great job man!

Thanks man. And thanks to everyone. I really appreciate it.
NIU,
I saw a guy from promuscle.com competed in this show. The guys looks amazing, took basically everything. Not fair that someone that awesome could compete as a novice. Did he look as impressive in person?

i dont know who your talking about. There were people in every class that looked unbelievable. It is an NPC show i expected it. My body fat was so low and i was so shredded i knew i should do well bc of that and i knew i wouldnt be as thick being 6 foot and weighin in at 171. But i took 5th and first call out of 15 at my fhirst show in which i dieted 9 weeks. So iim extremely happy. Especially since a few thought i could have done better. Regardless of placing it doesnt matter to me, i met so many people there that were awesome. They looked great and trained hard just like me. Learning myself like i did this diet helps out alot also.

NPC shows are tough, he looked much better than anyone at the show I did. It's even more impressive you held your own at a non-tested show.

Oh That was Jim. He was a Short Stocky guy as most where. His condition was greaton top of looking huge. One funny thing that happened tho was that he cramped up every pose and it was a cramp in his abs, and one ab was swelling up so much , it looked crazy. He did a great job tho, and you can tell by his pic. He didnt win with ease tho so you can tell what kind of guys got in .

And i worked my ass off, just as most do on a contest diet. I just went as far as i possibly could go to lookt he way i did. thats why i have no regrets and im happy i got a top 5 out of the huge group we had.

Im from saint Louis. I didnt realize you had to be a resident to do the missouri state show - I decided against it in the end but will do the kc natural show the 24th of september.
Thanks for the comments! My roommate and I were checking out your pics - which are the only ones I can find of myself so I should thank you! - and both commenting again on how lean and conditioned you were. Legs, serratus, vascular chest - kick ass! You certainly did better than I did in my first show. What are you planning on next?
Layne - Ive always quietly looked up to you as well for your work ethic. I frequent avant's boards as thehawk and you made some nice comments/critiques on the pics of my show in kc from last august which I appreciate. When are you competing next - its been awhile?

Thanks alot man, your compliments are taken to the heart. You did awesome again as i said before you looked great. Ya i tried to come in as shredded as i could, bc i knew at 6 foot tall, there was no way to be as thick as some of you guys at 175. I am going to take a year to a year in a half off to get huge. Im going to get a good clean bulking diet going for the most part and try to get up to 240 or so before i cut down again. With my height i need the extra muscle to fill out.
i have a few more pictures at .
