hey guys just wanted to say great job on creating this forum section.
I recently sprained my wrist doing cleans. i can barely lift. today was my first day back in the gym and i was just tryin to see whati could do and what not. i did light bench and i had to widen my grip but it feels good on my wrist, and i did light shrugs. thats about all i could do but i just use more TUT to where i feel it.
i was wondering if since im not lifting liek i used to, and if i cut down for summer, would i lose an uncomfortable amount of muscle mass or would it not be a big problem if im carefull with my cut.
thanks.

It really depends, if you have a problem that is detrimental to your lifting, chances are you will lose more mass than if you did not. I would suggest attempting to cut slowly and just see how it goes then take it from there.

that's what I would do. But regardless of whether you are cutting or not, not having the stimulation of the weight training is going to cause you to lose some mass, it just might be accelerated with the cutting if you're not careful. But you can gain lost muscle back fairly quickly.

i wouldnt worry about the muscle loss from cutting. it wont be long til youre able to lift with the sprained wrist. in a few weeks youll be able to at least squat, deadlift, pull up, etc--presses and such might have to wait, but youll regain faster than you think. If youre really paranoid, you could add some plyometric jumps to maintain CNS and power output, which would lead to a stronger comeback

for me its kind of the other way around, i can do Some pushes but my pulls have to be VERy light.
and thats nto a very bad idea about the plyos. i do stadiums and stuff and switch it up to try to maintain my legs a little. kinda helps.

Keep your calories low and do moderate cardio first thing in the morning. That should save your ass until you're back in the iron game!
Btw. Imo just let your wrist heal fully before you begin to lift heavy again. I had a little "ache" in the left shoulder last year, but i was way to "hardcore" to consider skipping a workout. Well, after i ****ed my rotator cuff up i had plenty of rest on shoulder/chest/tricep days :o Think about the long term effects!
