i want to maximize my bench press routine a guy a the gym told me it was not possible on a small standard size bench.
i am new to weight lifting i have a rusted old narrow in the backyard should i workout on that?
i can get an olympic bench with 300lbs worth of weights on ebay cheap should i go that route instead??
also when i do get an olympic bench will i be able to lift more than i do now?? than compared to the narrow bench??

Get the olympic. In the end you'll wish you had got it. Eventually if not already you will need something bigger that can hold a good deal of weight.

get an olympic bench. Those standard home benches are really cheap, and most of the time the uprights that hold the weights are right on shoulder width which is where you want to grip the bar in most cases. Olympic bench is the way to go

my borther came across a sweet deal from one of his friends at work i got the following..
300lbs worht of olympic weights
chrome 45lb bar 7 foot
2 adjustable olympic hand dumbell's
one olympic curl bar
and 100lbs of cast iron standard weights..
body solid incline decline bench.
for $200!!!!!!!!
i was stunned to get all that equipment at that price so cheap i am very happy..
i used the bench last night and man what a difference the entire bench is made out of LEATHER!! and the precher curl attachment is HUGE!! and the leg lift is adjustable in heigth as well and the grips at the top of the bench can also be raised aswell!!!
