Reggie White should be higher (yes bias) Rice made Montana, and vice versa. just my opinion.
W Payton, J Elway, and R White should be higher.

I couldn't agree more. Favre down at 82. Young at 63. No way in hell are those guys that low.
As soon as I got through the top 5 without seeing Barry Sanders I should have stopped right there.

Sporting News > Sports Illustrated, though.
Terry Bradshaw above Brett Favre?
At least they had the sense to put Staubach ahead of Bradshaw.

LOL at 3/4 of the players above Brett Favre.
If the list was made today Favre would have to be in the top 25. Montana gets way more credit than he deserves, hes not even the 3rd best QB of all time much less the 3rd best player. I also think Reggie White should be top 10 if not top 5. He was unstoppable up until he retired the first time.

Only because he had more rings, not because he was a better QB.

Sorry bud Montana is the best of his era! stop the hate already! lol
To me it was Montana and Dan Marino.
Montana is joe cool, the comeback kid! the guy came outta no where and lead a team to 4 superbowls this is a guy who drafted 3rd round number 82!
Joe montana
Noted for his ability to remain calm under pressure, Montana helped his teams to 31 fourth quarter come-from-behind wins
Espn named him 25th greatest Athlete of the 20th century.
IF he wasnt so good he wouldnt of been inducted in the hall of fame on First ballot in 2000.
come on man be honest why do you dislike him so much?
Kovalchuk

OJ should be higher.

Montana was great no question, having 4 rings and not throwing 1 interception in a superbowl is a great feat. People overlook those things because Montana had an offensive system, which at the time nobody knew how defend, plus he and was surrounded by TONS of talent. As opposed to guys like Elway and Marino who basically had to carry their teams into the post season year in and year out. Elway finally got some help at the end on his career having TD and Sharpe, plus a good D, winning 2 straight rings.

well hey thats life some people are dealt a better hand.
People have to realize Football is a Team Sport! it is not tennis or boxing where its up to the individual. Marino and elway had receivers just like jim kelly the game just didnt go there way, to say the line or the teammates were sorry is an insult to those guys who put there blood and guts into the game. You could have the best receiver and still be sorry it depends if your Morale is up! and if you got a good leader and coach to help hype you mentally.
