From now until October I'm posting my journal so I can get pictures done in Oct and hopefully find a contest around here in Nov. I'm tired of being a chunky trainer.
Here are my starting stats:
5'2" 145lbs 20%
Arms 13
calves 15 1/4
legs 21 1/2
I will post my diet for the day tonight........as for my lifting I've already started on cardio........still can't get out of bed but for the most part I lift heavy..........be back soon

Congrats on starting a pre-contest training regimen! I am sure you will do great! Just remember that consistency is key! Let me know if you need any help. I just competed in 2 shows this spring and am now cycling between a bulking and cutting phase for the rest of the summer.

It's been a couple of days since I've posted, I'm getting better at getting up, my schedule at work has been screwy with people being out of town. My friend and I started walking at night again and I'm still trying to keep my cals between 15-1700. I definately have kept the solid weight put on by the 1-AD. I just think maybe my hormones are well enough to tolerate it............let you know later.

Yesterday was pretty good
Got up and did 35 min cardio on my elliptical and trained legs.
I'm up to squatting 185 for all three of my sets!!!

Try not to go more than 3 hours without eating. Get 5-6 meals in a day. Are you trying to bulk? Just wondering because of the 1-AD.

I know not to go more than 3 hrs on eating but trying to schedule my workouts in and between clients, when I'm really busy the only option I have is shakes or bars but I try to eat 1 hr before I work out and then around 30 min-1hr after.........as for the 1-AD I've just had really good results with my strength and a little actual muscle size but I want to maintain as much as possible while I'm dieting. I have always eaten 5-6 meals a day for the past 6-7 yrs but it fluctuates with how many clients I train in a day. Sometimes I train 6-8 back to back.........thanks for your input because I don't know anyone else my age who actually "bodybuilds":-)

Hey, no problem! We are definately a minority, even on these boards! I have never tried 1-AD but I am trying out some ecdyvone right now. I have put on a lot of size but it makes me bloated and I am retaining a TON of water (no thanks to creatine, too). I am currently bulking. I have never actually done a true bulking cycle before so it is very educational. I used to always be in "diet" mode and after my last couple shows I realized I have some weak parts that need more attention. I would like to come in more full and thick. A bodybuilder's work is never done!

O.K I don't know what my problem is but on the weekends I ALWAYS blow it bad. It just doesn't last 1 or 2 days but usually 3!!! I don't know what to do to keep myself from overeating on the weekends! Any suggestions? I can't keep busy 24-7 Maybe I don't really want it or I think I can get away with it for a couple of days but it doesn't work that way..........maybe I really need to overcome with the mental aspects of eating............is there anyone here who deals with the same thing?

Ugh... I feel your pain! Don't feel bad, tomorrow is Monday, back on the saddle. The weekends are hard for me too. I just had the worst weekend, I mean I had a great weekend and all, my friend from school was in town and we hung out, but the diet went out the window. I use things as an excuse, and have trouble at times, one day turns to three. I usually flow back into the groove monday. I mean I can do so well for weeks, get in primo condition, then screw myself over two or three days and end up having to work my ass off for two weeks to get it back. It is all mental thou, sometimes a certain supplement or new diet or new training routine can keep ur motivation and get u to focus on eating right and stickin to it. Don't feel bad :) Just go to bed tonight and wake up tomorrow and do tha right thing..start eating right again and begin to focus on what is really important to you. Ugh... hearing I'm not the only one who had a rough weekend is at least a little sooothing... And all I was doin was searching for cottage cheese...lol... Now get away from those carbs and get to bed. Better yet, throw them downt he garbage disposal :}~

Hey, I know how stress can affect the training, I'm trying to get out of my slump/down time that I am/was in .... I just try to focus on what I really want.. and then try to do it.

It seems like everyone is in the same slump right now. Maybe it's because it's summer and there are too many temptations. Just remember that it is way more rewarding to look good than eat something that tastes good only to get a few moments of enjoyment out of. (I hope that made sense!)

I find it works really well for me to just have some herbal tea, sugar-free Jello, or lemon water at night when I am hungry. If I am really hungry, I just brush my teeth. It seems to put closure on the night and then I won't eat because I will have to brush my teeth again and I am too lazy for that at night!
Just keep going. Everyone gets stuck at some point. Just pick up and move on!

I am starting the anabolic diet today. Had my bodyfat checked and still maintaining 20%..........haven't been following my diet to the T. Have gained a couple of pounds and am at a solid 145-148.
The 1-AD put a couple of pounds on me!! YEA. Time to get ripped............
