View Full Version : Did You Know Your Personal Info Is'nt Safe @ BB.COM & They Won't Protect It, Either?

Several months ago, I received an e-mail that a comment was made into my bodyspace/profile. I've been a BB.com customer for about 10 years now, but a "member" only for a few years, and I know that I had originally filled out the profile, but had never looked at it since.

So, I went to the profile, and noticed that it had been hacked into, that a photo of a young lady (I am an elderly gentleman) was placed into the profile, and that goals and other information had either been changed or added into my profile.

I immediately called customer service and told them of my concerns, that if somebody was/is able to hack into my personal account, then they should also be able to hack into my credit card and banking information, as I have been a customer for well over 10 years, and that BB.com has lots personal banking information about me.

Customer service told me they would look into it.

I followed up the telephone call with an e-mail, and received one back, stating that "Richard" would look into it.

Needless to say, nobody has looked into it, and nobody has even addressed my concerns. I ended up sending two more e-mails to BB.com, and several other telephone calls.

I HAVE RECEIVED NO CONTACT FROM ANYBODY, CONCERNING MY COMPLAINT!

Why? Don't you (BB.com) have any concerns for the customers who help you put butter on your tables for dinner? I've been a customer for over 10 years. Check my invoices. How much have I spent with you? 10 Grand? Maybe.

But, I don't care if I or anybody else have spent ten dollars. When "we" have a concern, you should look into it. How many phone calls or e-mails do I need to send to you, to get a response out of you?

There is no answer to the question, and it really is too late for an apology. Your customers should receive immediate and reasonable responses to their concerns.

You are doing nothing more than ignoring me.

Shame on you!!!!!

So, I decided to stop being a customer of yours. I even called several times, to include e-mail requests, that my account be deleted, and you won't even respond to that!

So, why won't you address my concerns? My only assumption is, besides the fact that customer service is only something you tout about in your advertising; because when it comes time for you to walk the walk, you run away. Shame on you!

Maybe it takes too much effort for you to look into my complaint. Or, maybe I found a glitch in your system that you don't want to fix, for some reason, and that you would rather lose me as a customer, then to fix the problem for "all" of your customers.

I've been trying to figure a way to complain about this, that will grab your attention, and decided to do it here. Complaints.com only has one complaint about you. It is so mundine, that it could have been fixed sooner, and was. But, I am sure most people don't look there, to see how you treat your customers.

So, I am complaining here. I want every member to look up my profile, Pappy, and see what it is that I am talking about. If someone can hack into my personal profile here, can they hack into yours? Can they hack into our banking/credit card information? Probably so. But, why won't bb.com discuss this with me?

I want everyone who reads this to:

1. Check out my profile.
2. Send an e-mail complaint to customer service, asking how this can happen.
3. Send an e-mail complaint to customer service asking if "you" too will be blown off , like I was, when I tried to correct a problem and make a complaint about a legitimate issue.

Of course, if you don't care about the ability of anybody being able to hack into your personal information on this, you can do nothing.

For those of you who will act in my and our behalf, thank you!

Pappy,

First off, I apologize for the delay. It's not an excuse, but I receive hundreds of requests for account intervention every day (password changes, email changes, name changes, forgotten passwords, forgotten usernames, account activations, account deletions, etc.), and since I'm the only one who can handle these admin-level requests, customer service forwards them all to me, and although I try to handle all such requests in a timely manner, I do still have a 'to-do' stack I try to chip away at each day.

To respond to your concerns:

1) As far as we know, there is no way for anyone to hack into your account, except by guessing your password. Before I cleaned up your profile, I did see an odd photo and some odd text, which was obviously not put there by you. My suggestion would be to change your password to a stronger (not-so-easily guessable) password, and change it often, as phishing attacks are on the rise on the Internet at large.

2) Our billing and invoicing system is completely separate from our membership (BodySpace) system (by design), so even if someone guessed your password and accessed your BodySpace profile, there is no financial information linked to it. In fact, that's why (unfortunately) Customer Service cannot handle some BodySpace-related requests like they can on order requests - the systems are completely separate, and they cannot access BodySpace accounts at the present time. We, of course, are working on this inconvenience, however major database changes are needed, and such endeavors take time. When CS is given access to the BodySpace database, however, the financial information will remain separate as a matter of policy.

3) We do value your loyal patronage over the years, and are sorry we failed you in this regard. I'll delete your account, as per your request, ASAP.
