Homemade Transdermals for Dummies
Ever since transdermals came out to the market there have been many people trying to copy and successfully produce a homemade replica of the brand name ones. In this article I present to you an easy step by step process on how to make a transdermal with a certain androgen in it.
First we begin by choosing the PH that we want, like 1-test, 4-ad, and others. After you have chosen the PH that you would like to use, you need to find the solubility of the PH. For example for 1-test its solubility is 25mg of 1-test per each ML of solution, or expressed as 25mg/ml, for 4-ad it's 50mg/ml and so on.
Make a plan and decide how long you want the transdermal to last. You do this by multiplying the amount of mgs desired each day (this is the amount of PH before it has been absorbed by the body) by 7 which is one week and then by how many weeks you want it to last. This will give you a total of mgs needed to dissolve. For example if we want to do an 8 week cycle of 1-test at 200mg per day one would do this: [200mg x 7(one week)] x 8(weeks) = 11,200 mg, the PH bases are sold in grams so we just take the total number of mgs and divide them by 1000 to turn them into grams. This number would be the total needed grams of the PH needed for the whole cycle. In our example we would get 11.2 grams needed of 1-test to dissolve, for an 8 week cycle.
Now that we have found out how much grams we need, we move on to finding a place to buy the base, for that you can go to kilosports.com or *************, in my opinion ********'s site is more reliable as I’ve heard of some people not getting their shipment on time from kilosports. As opposed to kilosports ******** gives you a fast delivery. Normally they sell the grams in amounts of 10g, 20g (grams), 30g, 50g, 60g... You could be left with some left over, so you might choose to dissolve the whole amount of base that you have or if you have a measuring scoop measure out the amount of grams desired to be dissolved.
We now need to find out the amount of solution needed to dissolve the PH. For this we will use a bit more math. For simplicity's sake we will use the above mentioned 8 week cycle as an example. In the example we needed to dissolve 11.2 grams of 1-test, so to find the needed solution one does the following:
11.2g 1-test( .001 L / .025g 1-test) = 0.448 Liters of solution needed to dissolve the 1-test, or it can be done to get the milliliters like this: 11,200mg 1-test(1ml / 25mg) = 448 Milliliters needed ( 1ml/25mg is the solubility if 1-test, in the other example they are divided by 1000 to equal liter measurements). This might be a bitch to understand but if you’re venturing into kitchen chemistry with homemade transdermals understanding to convert metric units like so is very important.
Now that we have found how much of a solution we need, we should choose what the solution is going to contain in it. What the solution contains is very important as it will be the carrier to get your androgen through the skin and get hopefully absorbed in the bloodstream. There are many "recipes" for the solution some of the most common are 25% IPM 75% Ethanol, 10% OA 30% IPM 60% ethanol, 25% IPM 75% Ethanol. The ingredients in these “recipes” are IPM or Isopropyl Myristate (a product used as solvent or diluent for fragrances, but which helps in our purposes), Ethanol 99% pure ( this is wood alcohol sold in liquor stores, this can be replaced by Isopropyl alcohol of 95% purity), and Oleic Acid. All these products can be found in www.lemelange.com, they have speedy service and also sell containers and sprays you might want to use for your transdermal.
I suggest you choose the "recipe" that is 60% ethanol, 30% IPM and 10% OA, because the OA and the IPM work as permeation enhancers and although there’s no proof (only anecdotal) it could potentially be more effective than using just alcohol or ethanol and IPM as the solution. In our example we know that we need 448 ml of solution so now that we have chosen a formulation we multiply each percentage for every ingredient by he amount of ml needed.
For the example we come up with:
-269ml of ethanol
-134ml of IPM
-45ml of OA
You should then mix the ingredients of the solution which should equal should equal 448ml of total solution in which we would dissolve the PH. Now we dissolve the powder in the solution. Some people say one should go dissolving the powder slowly in the solution adding certain amount slowly and not all at once. Some just mix it and let it dissolve. And some have some problem getting all the powder to dissolve in the solution. Heating the solution might help to dissolve the PH but using anything with fire or with a higher combustion temperature than alcohol will cause a fire. To prevent this one can dissolve the powder in the solution and then put the container with the solution in a pot with some warm but not boiling water, making sure no water gets into the solution.
Once we have gotten the solution I suggest that you get a spray that shoots a mist and not too big particles of liquid for the transdermal. You can do that or use a syringe to draw from the container and then apply to your body. If you go with the spray you should know how many sprays make 1ml of the transdermal, you can do this by spraying very carefully inside the syringe and counting the sprays until it reaches one ml.
Now you should put some of the completed solution into a spray bottle or whatever you want to use, and then store the surplus in another container for later use. Just make sure that both the spray bottle and the container for the surplus are air tight, or with time the alcohol will evaporate.
There are many other ways and formulas to use for the transdermal but this is the basic idea on making your own transdermal. And although it can be questioned whether it is less or more effective than a company's formulations like the carrier used by Avant Labs, there’s nothing else than can satisfy the mad scientist in some of us.
