Detroit's European scout better be gettin' PAID, with the gems he's unearthed. What is it, like 12 years since Detroit's picked higher than 17th? Holmstrom, Franzen, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Filppula, all late-rounders. Crazy.

also i would just like to point out that 2 goals were called back. ok the 2nd one was a legit call but at the same time that should have been a crosschecking penalty which would have put the Stars on a 5 on 3 power play for a minute and a half.

I agree that the Morrow goal should have counted. The rule states it should only be disallowed if there was a distinct kicking motion, and it's obvious in the replay that there wasn't. But that said, penalties and disallowed goals can't be blamed for the loss. The Stars were up by two after 40, which is a situation that is their bread and butter. Instead of locking things down, they allowed the Sharks back in it. Each goal was the result of an obvious missed defensive assignment. Not good for a team that is usually airtight in that area.

For me, it's not so much that I'm countin' the Flyers out, it's just that I'm damn stubborn and refuse to change my pick from the Pens who I've picked since the beginning. Honestly I can easily see Philly getting under the skin of the young Pittsburgh team and taking the series, especially since the Pens have yet to have a really good battle whereas the Flyers have had to dig down and fight hard to get to this point. The same goes for the West Finals.

Man, what a game last night, this is gonna be a great series! I really underestimated Malkin's competitiveness. I watched Mike Richards for 4 years in junior, so I knew he'd WORK Malkin, which he did, but he still found a way to be a difference-maker.

Stars got a couple bad calls last game, but the reason they lost is they came out totally flat, which is understandable considering their fight with the Sharks. They're really gonna have to show a lot more tonight. Detroit is KILLING teams with their puck-possession skills. And the PP, just wow; Rafalski and Lidstrom, and try moving Franzen and Holmstrom from the front of the net without taking a penalty. It's looking like all Ozzy's gonna have to do is make sure he doesn't lose them a game with the way the rest of the team is playing, while Turco's gonna have to be spectacular.

So Avs fire Quenneville. I'd love to see him behind the bench in Toronto, but we need a GM first. Thus the meeting with Nonis :D.
