I picked Philly to beat the Caps. They have such a deep team goal-scoring wise. With the Caps, once you stop Ovechkin, you're left with checkers in scoring roles or playoff rookies. I figured it's much easier to contain one guy, even if it is AO, then a team with as many threats as the Flyers.

I have to admit man Casey Price is one hell of a goaltender.

Ive always been a big fan of the sharks (except for last year when they played against the wings :p) and watching them lose to calgary in game 1 and then come back for a series tie, its been pretty exciting. However I wouldnt mind the Sharks going against the Wings again. Mostly because Detroit has San Jose's number BIG TIME.

I just cant wait to see the Avs-Wild series. I was hoping it'd go to a 7 game. Then again I was hoping that I'd get to see an Avs-Wings Stanley Cup playoffs just like the good ol' days of 300 minutes in penalties.

LOL...can you blame Lowe. After last season, you'd think he'd be looking over his shoulder. Granted, I don't really see anyone overpaying for the guys listed but then again crazier things have happened.

In the grand scheme, it's nice to see them locking up these young guys though. Every single one of them earned the money they made this past year and I don't mind giving them new contracts. Better to keep around the home grown talent than to continually be signing guys to what turns into one year leases.

Kozlov's underachieved his whole career, Semin falls under my playoff rookie category, Fedorov is no longer a factor on the scoresheet, and Clark isn't a natural scorer. Green has played well though, I'll give you that. Philly's just much more physical and can roll four solid lines. I think that's wearing them down more than anything.

It appears that goaltender Ray Emery finally has worn out his welcome in Ottawa.

Senators general manager and coach Bryan Murray met with the media on Friday to address what ultimately was a disappointing season, and Murray made it clear that he was not going to be keeping the mercurial goalie around.

"My plan is not to have him back," Murray told the Canadian media. "I told [Emery] yesterday that the plan right now would be to investigate possible options for him, meaning look to see if there's another team that is willing to make a trade."

The score really didn't tell the whole story last night. The Stars played a lot better than it indicated. You might see 5-2 and say "wow, they were dominated," but that wasn't the case. Giggy and the power-play were the differences IMO.

The one thing I didn't like was Turco's attempted bodycheck on Selanne. He better expect to get nailed when he comes out of his crease if he's going to physically involve himself in the game like that.

What about Dan Ellis in Nashville? 52 saves last night. I thought the regular season was a fluke and he'd get lit up in the playoffs, but I guess he's the real deal. A late bloomer too. He lost the backup battle in Dallas to Mike Smith and was released; looked like a career AHL'er, but now is probably a legit #1 goalie.

I'm pretty sure everyone get's how this is gonna work but real quick... You pick what team you think is going to win each series and in how many games. You'll get 1 point if the team you picked wins the series and 2 points if the team you picked wins in the number of games you predicted. You get nothing for a losing team. The top 5 with the most points at the end of the finals get's repped by everyone who's listed in bold below.

Well, in defense of Gabby, he was practically wearing that #52 jersey of Adam Foote throughout the series.

A large part of the problem is no one else has been any kind of real threat. Bouchard has been decent, but Rolston and Demitra were really bad. It's really easy to key in on one guy if you have an elite shutdown d-man or forward, like Foote, or Mike Richards on Ovechkin.

Crazy if Boston wins game 7; Julien came back from 3-1 against the Bruins when he coached the Habs, now could accomplish the same with the B's.

Does anybody know a good place to buy some vintage hockey jerseys. Mainly the CCM versions of the Jets, Nordiques, Rockies, Pittsburgh (Blue version), and a few other gems. I agree that he was covered well by all of the Avs during this series and was given little time to do anything once he got the puck...but he is supposed to be an elite player in the league and I just don't see it. Stars for the cup. WOOOOOOOO. I knew Dallas would beat the Ducks. I was so pumped when Robi scored last night then set up the winner 52 seconds later.

Playing 10 games out of 82 in the West a season does not make. If they were in the West they just wouldn't have the record they do now. They would get worn down. Their defense, which is already a bit suspect, would probably get beat up and exploited due to facing tougher teams most nights and teams with better overall team defenses that can actually stop them, unlike the Sens. The West is the more physically demanding conference.

If Montreal can win tonight I pick them to go to the finals. It may be too late though. Maybe it's for my own sentimental reasons though. I can admit that. But Boston is the Calgary of the East; they are very physical and can beat anyone at anytime. Just a hard team to beat.

Montreal vs. Detroit in the final. Well . . . one can hope anyway.

i've been a sharks fan since i was 8. i was raised in san jose. if they lose this game tonight i am no longer a sharks fan because that would be the biggest choke and embarassment of all time. they know that if they lose tonight, they'll never be able to bounce back from this after the season that they've had.
