Hey guys, ive been looking all over the place for an affordable power rack. So far i've been to fitnesssource, Fitness depot and muscle mag store. All of these guys offer racks from 599 cdn up to 800 dollar. Am looking for something cheap in canada, does anyone know any other place to buy power racks?

So you want something cheap and not something that will last? May I ask why?

i don't mean cheap like wal-mart cheap but the ones offers in canada are the ones that can handle up to 1000 pound, I just dont think ill ever get to that point. Something that can handle 500 pound for 400 dollar is great for me.

Don't go cheap,
Cheap will get you hurt, cheap is weak. With good effort and some training within 2 years you will be squating close to 500 lbs. Then one day you are squating and you feel a twinge in your back, bang down the wieghts quickly and your cheap power rack comes crashing down on you. Not good.

A power rack is something you want to spend some money on. Pay for the additional quality because if some day you need to utilize the safety functions of a power rack it will stand up strong for you.

If you're patient you may be able to find what you want used, and CHEAP. I have a Northern Lights cage (Canadian manufacturer) that I got off eBay for under $200 just because the guy wanted it out of his basement.

Sorry I know this is not what you want to hear but........cheap equipment will cost more in the end. You will make gains and with that you will need more durable and safe equipment. I purchased the Bodycraft power cage and lat pulldown. Last week I was trying to squat 350 and my knee gave out. The barbell dropped about a foot before it landed on the safety spotter arms. The rack didn't move and inch. Good equipment has a lifetime warranty...there is a reason for that. GO for something used if you don't have the cash, but not something cheap in quality. You could probably pick up a used power rack fo around 350, if you look hard enough.

If you want affordable in Canada. Just about your only option is costco/sams. Unfortunetly you have to take what ever they have at the time, but it will save you $1000+.

I got mine ebay. Was lucky to find somebody local selling and picked it up myself.
