I'll be doing some dead lift work tonight! I'm not exactly sure yet what I'm going to do, but I've got all day to figure it out. I might see where I stand and do some heavy singles and work up to my max. Then do some SLDL's...we'll see.

Sorry to hear about the test result Val. I'm sure there will be some adjustments.

Do it!

I'm going for something in the range of 435-455 tonight. My PR at this point is 425, so I'll be happy with anything over that. We'll see how it feels when I start pulling. If I hit 435 and it feels good, I'll move up 10 lbs at a time.

Thanks Big D! Your arms are a lot leaner than mine..a lot! I'm trying to work on my strength to get the muscle density that you have. I am blessed with a massive frame and genetics that allow me to put on muscle. I have a feeling genetics will allow me to get my arms to 22 or 23"...maybe bigger. I just need to keep after it. When I can cheat curl 225 lbs for reps like you, instead of 135...I'll know I'm there.

I can't wait to see how you incorporate them into your training. With the strength that you have, some of the growth producing techniques could cause some serious mass and size increase for you. With your attension to detail, and your ability to hit your nutrition day in and day out...the sky is the limit for you.

No workout tonight. I'm feeling burned out. I'll do deads and stuff tomorrow night. I went throught my whole pre-workout routine...and then said..f it. I've really pushed this week, hit a lot of PR's, and I think my body is telling me to rest a little bit. I'm sure getting 3 hours of sleep the other night played a part in it becasue I am feeling pretty tired. I'll have a few carbs tonight and get to bed early.

Thanks guys...I'm just really worn down tonight. I always feel it is better to delay a session when you just can't get your mind in the right place. I will regroup tomorrow, and get a great workout in, as opposed to getting a ****ty workout in tonight. I don't think that there is a muscle in my body that isn't sore either, so an extra day of rest will allow me to recover. It is certainly time.

Lol..not slacking. I've already gotten my work in this week. Just depending on how I feel, I start my next workout cycle...just not going to start it without a day of rest this week. Can't grow if I'm not giving myself time to recover.

It is just a matter of finding the time to go now. I'm going to get my money's worth too. Keep the rare steak coming and make sure I don't run out of beer. I might just have them leave a bottle of merlot at the table too.

If I can't find the time to get make the trip to a Brazilian steak house, there is a little place up in Wisconsin called the Wilmot Stage Stop that serves nothing but Steaks and Lobster...very reasonable too. You get a monster baked potato with a 1/4 lb of real butter on it with your meal. I'll take the porterhouse with 2 lobster tails please.

Started the weight a little low on the bench and the pendlay rows, but I kept the rest to 60 sec between sets so it was a really good workout !!

You have to deload the weight on the floor and keep your back parallel to the floor.

You can probably find something on YouTube.

Chest/Back
11/10/07

Bench-
135x10 w/u
135x10 w/u
185x5 w/u
225x5 w/u
225x5 w/u
275x12 *tied PR
275x10 *second set PR
265x10
205x18....135x10 drop set *I was going to do sets at 195, but decided this would be better...wow.

Wide Grip Pull-Ups
BWx13
BWx8....+Assisted x 8 drop set + BW hang to failure

Incline DB Press-
95x9
95x8....65x5 drop set

DB Rows-
150x12
150x10....95x10 drop set

Incline DB Flies-
50x20

Bent Over BB Rows-
135x25

Shoulder was sore for some reason today, but still tied bench PR for 1st set. 2nd set was a PR, so that is good. I decided to do a drop set on bench for my burnout set, and man was it different. It dropped my incline DB's by 3 reps. Still, it felt really good. This is the longest, toughest chest/Back day I've done in quite some time.

I'm happy enough with my back work. Increased Pull-ups and the combination of the assisted pull-ups and the BW hand really left my lats feeling stretched and full. The DB Rows are absolutely brutal when done as a drop set. Bent over BB rows were light, but by that time, I didn't have much left. Tough workout.

Thanks matthor. Sometimes, I just have a problem getting warmed up. This is when I really wish I had a good treadmill that I could spend 15-20 minutes working up a sweat and getting the blood moving. My shoulder feels pretty good right now.

I right on the edge of where I want to be BF wise right now. I don't want to put any more on. I'm going to have to keep watching my diet. I'm still thinking of cutting from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

Legs-
11/12/07

Cardio-
Treadmill-2.1 miles, 310 cals burned, 30 minutes.

Squats-
135x10 w/u
135x10 w/u
135x10 w/u
225x5*
225x5*
225x5*
*Easy and light. Still hurts to put weight on my back.

Seated Calf Raises-
180x10
90x20 + 10 x-reps

Leg Press-
5 plates/side x 12
4 plates/side x 12
3 plates/side x 10
*just enough time between sets to take the plates off.

Leg Curl-
200x6 *this is the stack
185x8 + 5 x-reps

Leg Extentions-295 is the stack.
295x12
295x9 + 5 x-reps

It was an OK workout....nothing great, but not bad. I am frustrated with the pain I have when I squat. I feel like I need to do something, however light, to not loose too much. I will say that finishing with the leg curl/extension combo with x-reps is a great way to finish legs.

Nice workout Homes. I hope the back pain goes away soon. I have found a 15-20 minute session of some serious stretching with splits, hurdler's stretch, etc. will make it hurt like hell for a day or two, but then it will fade away for me if I do this when mine acts up.

I bet tonight was a good leg pump at the very least! :D

My problem is between my ribs. It hurts in back and in front along the same rib. It isn't as bad as it was...but it is still a problem.

I'm going to lift shoulders today. One of the nice things about working from home is that I can get my workout done during the day. I have to work again tonight, and I also have a volleyball game, so being able to work out during the day is great.

Yes, I think X-reps would help you a lot more than directly working arms 3x a week.

X-reps are partials done at the end of a set when you reach failure and can't do another full rep.

You should do one regular set, then add x-reps to the end of your second set. Don't do more than 2 sets on any lift where you do x-reps. They are pretty hard on the nervous system.

Drop me a PM with you e-mail.

Don't know if I'm gonna be able to keep studying till late tonight... I work tomorrow at 7:30 am and I'm gonna train before. I really wanna hit the gym, but I'm sooooooo drained

I'm in the same boat..except for work. I have stuff to do yet tonight, but I don't think I can go much later. Maybe if I wake up in the middle of the night, I can work on it a little more.

Have a good night Val. I hope you get some good sleep tonight.

Yeah, thanks. I still have lost another 0.5 lbs so far this week and I'm glad because it's definitively not water weight with all the amount of carbs I've been eating :D

Hey Mango...missed seeing you around lately. How is everyhting?

Cardio is cardio. I'm just trying to get into better overall shape.

I know, I was in your country!! It's pertty!! :o I really like our little getaway city. Nothing but snowboarding and shopping. Pretty sufficient gyms, though.

I'll confess I love running, but I'm more into long, reflective walks, lately. How are you doing?? You're not on msn. :(

I know...I'm probably being to demanding on myself. When I get 305 x 10, or 315 x 10...I'll consider myself to have a strong bench. That would give me raw max in the 400 lb range. From there...the sky is the limit.

Hmmm... these weights should be very close (within +/- 5 lbs.) to my ten rep max. 10 reps on pressing is very hard for me, my 8 rep max is significantly higher weight for some reason, more than it should be in my mind at least.
