i need some help people. i am 16 and have been training my biceps like crazy but i seem to be at a plateau. my guns aren't bad, on a good day i can curl 90 lbs for about 5 or 6 reps. i dont know what i'm doin wrong. it might be the way i train... i always go to failure and i use weight that brings me to failure between 6 to 10 reps. i'm trying to put on mass so do you think i should do less reps w/ higher weight to failure or no failure or what? i've been trying a lot of different exercises but i can't seem to put on mass at all! i need some help!!... also i've been taking creatine before workouts and protein powder after.

If you're training them like crazy you may be overtraining them. Give them puppies about a week rest time for starters. If you're doing that let's look at your training and try changing it a bit to shock the biceps. Have you tried partials? It's a great technique to burst through plateaus. Warm up and start with a weight that you can get 6 - 8 reps with, that's the growing rep range. Contract the bar and squeeze and lower to a 90 degree angle, parallel to the floor and contract up again. This is a short movement and you should be able to handle a lot more weight. Do 4 sets and finish off with some db curls. Next time you do curls be sure you either go up in reps or weight. PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD BUILDS MUSCLE.
Now, lets look at nutrition and supplementation. Be sure you are getting quality nutrients before and especially after training. Replinish your glycogen and feed the body protein. Take some glutamine and creatine at this time as well.
Good Luck and turn those puppies into big dogs. *W*

Yes, burning with drag curls are the bomb. Also, give 21's a try for a good shock.

Holy smoke, 90 pound biceps curls with a barbell? If you're 16 and female, you're already stronger than 99.9% of all adult women who weight train and at least 95% of all adult men who weight train. Some plateau

If it's cables that used, more weight can be lifted. I'm 32, have 14.5" guns and curl 90 lbs for 6 reps on the ez bar curl. That's on a good day and it's my max.
