I just got these Energy/Metabolism pills from GNC called Thermoburst, however I'm looking at the Label, and its says to take 3 tablets in a day before your workout and it says each pill cotains around 67mg of Caffeine which would make 201mg for the 3. Is that too much Caffeine? Anybody know?

Jay, a cup of coffee is like 220mg. Ripped Fuel has 220mg, and Hydroxycut has around 200mg per serving. If you think it's too much, just take two instead of three. If you drink coffee or other beverages that have caffeine in them, you may not even really feel the effects of the pill at that dose anyway.

i would not recomend it but i take 800 mg of cafeine before workout sessions so 200 is not a problem.

Um, what kind of coffe has 220mg per cup? Strong drip brewed coffee has ~115g per cup.
If you take creatine, don't take caffeine before workouts, caffeine has been shown to completely nullify the ergogenic effects of creatine on workout strenght and recovery between repetitions.

But your body utilizes creatine even if you don't take it in supplement form. So does it block some of the creatine or all of it?

as far as caffeine is concerned, the dosage from 3 tabs of ThermoBurst isnt unheard of....granted you have a solid and well working blood pressure and no heart problems to speak of.
To put it in perspective, myself and tons of others take around 800mg of caffeine as part of an EC/ECA stack. (3 servings of 200mg, spread throughout the day)
If you want my input, and i speak from experience....thermoburst SUCKS, i regret ever spending money on it. It made me all jittery and i felt almost lightheaded taking it before i worked out, to the point where it actually hurt my workouts. I have since switched to an EC stack (ephedrine hcl and caffeine) for both fat burning and energy and have no notable side effects. I dont know what it is, but it just didnt work with my system.
Just my input, take it with a grain of salt...just wanted to give you the heads up!
ANOTHER NOTE: i've been trying to find the study to back it up before i make a statement, but i am seeming to have a hard time. I read in a study that it is not recommended to take more than 1000mg of caffeine (from all sources together) in a 24hour period. That is considering the recipient is a healthy individual with no other health problems. FYI

Starbucks, for example. ~ 220 mg per cup. Cup is bigger than avg, and coffee is stronger than most. But you're right, thats a lot.

If it were to block all effects of creatine you would die, so no, it does not block all effects of all creatine.
What has been found is that the effects of creatine supplementation on strenght and between repetitions recovery is effectivly nullified by ingestion of caffeine pre-workout.
My post from another thread:
Very nice post, i am going to research this further to see if i can find any studies using a lower dosage of caffeine.
400mg isn't very much though, it's less than four cups of drip brewed coffee, most people who drink coffe don't drink it in cups, they drink it in mugs so it's 1.5-2 servings, not four.
An important thing to remember is that the latter study shows that caffeine negates the effect of decreased recovery time that is one of creatines benefits, whether it affects recovery time between sets or total muscle recovery time is not known though, we know that creatine decreases both recovery time between repetitions, sets and total muscle recovery time and we know that caffeine increases recovery time between repetitions. One could theorize that it would also interfere with total muscle recovery time but it would seem unlikely as the reason for the increase has to do with caffeines effect on AD receptors.
One amusing thing though, the creatine used in the latter study was not Creatamax, it was "Creatine Fuel, Twin Laboratories, New York, NY".
If anyone wants to dig deeper into these studies, here are the links (from Journal of Applied Physiology):

A cup is 250ml, just like a tablespoon is 15ml. ;)

I am not a fan of caffein, I tend to crash on it unless i take excessive amount 400mg+ almost immediatly before a workout. I do love NO-Xplode though..

I take 200 mg but guy I work out with takes 400mg. I find caffeine harmless and no big deal. I am curious because thought after 400mg its "wasted".
You can only use so much it wont hurt you but might make you urinate much more without any energy. Have you ever tried 400 mg instead of 800 before you workout?

I take caffeine 200 mg and sometimes add 25 mg ephedrine before a workout with creatine or CEE and both work great together.
Its only if I take any NO2 type product that I notice the caffeine diminishes it but with creatine its fine.
I dont doubt what you said but think as a whole its fine with creatine for most.

No it doesnt......it has been suggested, and every study says it doesnt...
