Because of my schedule, in order to do cardio before breakfast I have to get started at 4am. I am so groggy at this time but I have done it before when I competed 4 yrs ago. It seems like my body doesn't respond nearly as well if I don't get up even if I do two sessions per day. Does anyone have any sugesstions whether mental or physical to get my ass out of bed? I guess it really is that important. Does anyone else have this problem?

well,
1.you could just suck it up for a week. your body will adjust eventually.
2. go to sleep earlier
3. drink LOTS of water before bed, you will get up early with an urgency you have never seen before

All I can say is your body will adjust. I have been getting up at 3:30 a.m. every weekday morning for the last two years to work out.
I used to get in bed at about 7:30 but now work a second job and sometimes don't get in bed till 9:30 or 10:00. You just have to keep doing it and one day it clicks. Now, sometimes I wake up that early on Saturday and Sunday.
I HAVE to because its 1) The only time I can work out and 2) I have a husband and one bathroom home so I have to split my morning routine with him.
You will adjust - one thing I do is set my clock 30 minutes early. I dont start working out till 4:00 but I get out of bed at 3:30 make coffee etc. That helps me.
