View Full Version : Please help make a routine and diet plan for my mom
Hey wuzup guys? K, my mom had a baby 7 weeks ago and now she is able to do more physical stuff. Just having a baby, she is a bit on the heavy side, and it is really tearing her apart, she used to be really thin and fit. I dont know very much about female fitness and all, so I would like as much help as I can get to make a routine and diet for her. Her goal is to lose 40 lbs. in 4 months and wants to be really tone. She only has enough time to go to the gym for 3 days a week, but she can do morning cardio and night cardio. She has to eat 2500 cals a day also because she is still nursing her baby. I would like as much help as possible. Thank you.
Before looking at training splits etc, I would concentrate on nutrition first.
I would hate to give bad advice considering the fact that she is nursing, but if she supplements nutrients that are essential for the baby, I don't see the need to change her diet much from mine, or any other bodybuilder.
Healthy eating is a life time commitment and I seriously would recommend your mother to educate herself in nutrition first. Start off by getting her the Body for Life book by Bill Phillips and Fats that kill fats that heal by Edo Erasmus.
The second book isn't that important, but it will probably help dispel any skepticism she has against eating fats. It's also a fun read, but your mother seems like she's a busy women, so I guess stick with the first book.
She will probably need to tweak her diet to her lifestyle, etc. As she gets more fit, she could educate herself more and fine tune her diet beyond the scope of the book. But for now it'll provide a good foundation.
Once again, since the baby also comes into the equation, I would recommend for her to call up her doctor and see if any complications are there. Personally I don't think there will be, the diet philosophy in the book really isn't extreme at all.
Oh yeah,
Good luck and congrats on your new sibling. =)
