First off, I’d like to thank Joey Rodrigues for giving me a chance to test his product. Also, thanks for the shirt, although I’m a bit insulted you think I’m a large! :D
As you can tell from the thread name, I’ll be testing MAN CLOUT.

L-Carnitine L-Tartrate 1,500mg
Beta-Alanine 1,600mg
Histidine 500mg

http://bodybuilding.com/store/man/body.html
I will also be using whey, sesathin, and EFAs. At time’s I’ll use some Neurostim+C, just to get me going ;)
A little about myself:
I’ve been weight training for a little over a year. I was fat and weak. Now, I’m husky and strong(er) :D. I’m almost 16 and I’m about 6’2 260. Yes, still a little fat, but I’ll work on that after this log ;)
My maxes are the following:
Bench-225
Reps of 185 for 8
Squat: 285
Deadlift: 325
Clean: 185
Training: I will be using the Westside method of lifting, and I will be training for explosiveness for football. For cardio, I run, both sprints for speed and miles for endurance. This will be explained later.
Diet: I will be using a 40/40/20 ratio split. 40% Carbs, 40% Protein, 20% Fat. I will be taking in approximately 3480 calories, 300 carbs, 300 protein, 120 fat. All of this is clean. I will be taking in at least 1 gallon of water a day.
Feel free to comment and ask questions.

It is, I would do CEE postworkout with some BCAA's and some other goodies for post workout recovery.
But if on a budget, use one or the other.

I play D-Line, mainly in the middle. However, I'd like to play D-End this upcoming season, gotta lose some weight though :(
Good luck with this. BodyOctane + creatine mono is a fantastic ergogenic combination.
Are you going to take Clout and BodyOctane at different times? The potential paranthesia from 3.2g of Beta-Alanine at once could make it uncomfortable for someone who hasn't used Beta-Alanine before.

I will be taking them mixed together, immediately preworkout after my preworkout meal. I will then take it again 4-5 hours later. I will try the Clout first, without the BodyOctane mixed in, to tell you guys how the flavor is. I will be drinking it later today for the first time, and tell you guys how it went. If the beta-Alanine is to much, I'll split the doses.

good luck with the log! I've been anticipating CLOUT for many months now ever since Joey hinted at it. I tested Body Octane about a year ago, and it's still one of the best products I've tried. however, I have a couple comments:
1. what is your split for Westside looking like? if you're doing it correctly, you're going to be hitting PR's each week, which can't really be attributed to CLOUT (or anything). however, if the PR's your making are out of the ordinary, then it would be a safer assumption that the CLOUT is kicking in.
2. how long have you been training Westside? do you have someone to show you proper technique for all three lifts?
3. don't get caught up in bands and chains for now. stick with straight weight for a few years. make sure after your max effort or dynamic effort exercise you're doing bodybuilder-type reps/sets. you want to build the explosion, but you want the size to back it up.
if you want help with Westside related stuff, I can help. if I don't know the answer, I know people that do (right from Westside itself).

Taking the Westside training a little furthur you shouldn't do DE work yet because you don't have a solid strength base to do that type of work, your not a Skinny Bastard but for your size you should have better numbers even though you haven't really been training for that long. I say you should follow a Westside program for Beginners better known as Westside for Skinny BAstards, find it here www.defrancostraining.com

300 g protein, 300 carbs, and 120 grams of fat is 3480 calories, but its not a 40/40/20 split. Its 34.5/34.5/31
Just thought id point that out in case you were wanting to make sure you do a 40/40/20.

Solubility:
It mixed extremely good. There were no clumps what so ever, and I only gave it a few stirs. This was with both the BodyOctane and CLOUT.
Taste (by itself):
J-Rod gave the taste a 6/10. I'm going to go ahead and give it a 7/10. It's no Syntrax Nectar or Substance WPI, but it's definantly not bad. It tastes sort of like Tropical Punch Kool-Aid, except a bit more sour and it sort of Neurostimish with the aftertaste, maybe that's just me.
Taste (w/ BodyOctane):
Also, not bad. It didn't taste as good as either one by itself, but it didn't taste bad. I would say that CLOUT was the more dominant flavor, it tasted more like fruit punch then orange.
Weight
260 lbs.
Pumping the Iron:
Friday: Dynamic Effort
Box Squat (8x3)-185x3, 205x3, 255x3, 255x3, 255x3, 265x3, 275x3, 285x3 (didn't explode as much as I would have liked on the last 2 sets)
Power Clean (8x3)- 135x3, 135x3, 145x3, 155x3, 155x3, 155x3, 155x3, 165x2 (failed on last rep)
Lying Leg Curls (3x6-8)- 70x8, 80x8, 80x8
Stiff Legged Deadlifts (3x6-8)- 135x8, 155x8, 185x8
Reverse Hyperextensions (3x12)
Roadwork
Didn't do much cardio as it was a busy day. I worked the heavy bag for a little and also played some basketball. Nothing much.
Pump:
Didn't get much of a pump.
Energy Effects:
Nothing much extra.
Notes:
Although sweating is nothing abnormal with me, I do feel that I was sweating profusely throughout my workout.
Also, the tingling sensation was rather annoying. It's nothing I'm not willing to work through though.
I won't be doing much working out over the weekend, besides cardio. By Monday, I'm hoping to be getting more of an effect by CLOUT as it will be in my system. According to J-Rod, it should take 3-5 days before seeing effect.

1. I'm still sort of working on it, I don't think I've perfected it yet to how I like it.
Basically, this is what I'm starting out with, changes may be made. Infact, you can see today that I decided not to do step-ups, but instead did leg curls.
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=437495
2. I haven't been training Westside for very long, about a week. I already know how to do the lifts prior to Westside, my first program ever was Bigger, Faster, Stronger.
3. Thanks for the tips man, I'll take you up on that help if I need it :D.
The only way to train is hard ;)

Yeah, I have a WSB workout made up, but I just decided that I liked this one better. It just felt right ;). I know I should be stronger for my size, but as you also mentioned, I haven't been training for all that long. I will cut soon after my log, to around 10% bf. That way I'll be stronger for my size ;) (assuming I don't lose all that much strength)

A Dynamic Effort day is supposed to be 8x3@50%-70% of 1RM. The weight may seem to light but it isn't supposed to make you fail, if you fail you are using to much weight. I thought 285 was your squat max but you just tripled it isn't that a PR. On a Dynamic Effort day it is always the speed of the bar that counts not the weight on it.

Well, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to respond to this. I know all about Dynamic Effort, and I thought I was moving pretty fast. I guess I'll go lighter next time and try to go much more faster. I don't think I took much more then 5 seconds on one dynamic set. Yes, 285 was my max squat, but my box squat is always better then my normal.

not to make this a Westside debate, but the number of sets and reps can vary. I personally do between 6-8 sets of two, and my good friend does 5 sets of 3. it depends if it's straight weight, bands and/or chains, circa max phases, etc.
yes and no about speed vs. weight. it's about CONTROLLED explosion. the weight does play a role, as does the speed. if you're doing speed bench and you're coming off the bench, you're getting a lot of speed but your form is terrible. the focus on dynamic day is explosion with PERFECT technique.
worry less about %'s and focus on technique. at 16, both of you need to perfect your technique, as well as more time under the bar. I'm 22 and my technique still needs a lot of work. the guy I train with, Matt Rhodes, at 27 still works on his technique.
Unleashed, your free squat should mimic your box squat. if you took the box away, you should hit the same depth and explode out of the hole since there's no pause. your stance should be the same, everything should mirror your free squat on the box.
these aren't disses by any means. these are all things I've been learning over the years and wish I knew sooner. just use your head and lift weights that you can handle rather than what your ego says. I've added hundreds of pounds to my total in over a year being smart.

I know it should mimic my free squat, but it doesn't. It's probably more of a mental thing, I'm just more confident knowing that my ass won't be hitting the floor, because it's already on a box :D. Not only do I use more weight, but I probably go down lower as well.

Taste (Changed my mind):
I have grown less fond of the taste, and it's now a 6/10
Weight
263 lbs. Diet was a bit screwed up over the holiday, but i double dosed Sesathin. I believe most of it's just water.
Pumping the Iron:
Bench Press (8x3)- 135x3, 155x3, 165x3, 165x3, 165x3, 165x3, 165x3, 185x3 (Last set felt like 165)
Closed-Grip Bench (3x6-8)- 135x8, 155x6, 155x6
Skull Crushers (3x6-8)- 65x8, 75x8, 75x8
Military Press (3x6-8)- 95x8, 115x8, 75x8 (Shoulders dying by now)
DB Row (3x6-8)- 45x8, 55x8, 60x8
Wrist Curls (3x7-10)-55x10, 55x10, 55x10
Roadwork
Worked the heavy bag, ran for about 20 minutes.
Pump:
I wasn't feeling much more pumped then usual, but I did think I looked bigger then usual. Also, I think I noticed a couple more visable veins.
Energy Effects:
Nothing unusual
Recovery:
I had more DOMS then usual on Saturday and Sunday, probably due to the new workout. I'm feeling pretty good today, we'll see how my upperbody does tomorrow.
Notes:
I went into my workout not feeling well, I worked out not feeling well, and when it was over, I still wasn't feeling to well.
Still noticing more sweating
Tingling sensation is becoming less noticable

Power Cleans (3x4-6)- 135x6, 155x5, 165x4

Stiff Legged Deadlift (3x4-6)- 185x6, 205x6, 215x5
Reverse Hyperextensions (3x12)
Roadwork
Due to a recent schedule change, my roadwork has been hardly work, and more just like a bit of cardio. I'm easing into more work, and this should be seen by at the most next week. Today, I did 20 minutes running, played basketball for a while, and then worked the heavy bag.
Pump:
Nothing out of the normal.
Energy Effects:
I wasn't really feeling it today, so I threw in some Neurostim+C. Due to that, I did notice more energy.
Recovery:
Hardly and DOMS from yesterday's workout. I usually get it bad after leg day, so we'll see what happens tomorrow.
Notes:
I'm noticing getting warmed up on this stuff is easy to do. Also, I'm not noticing much yet in terms of strength, but it's only the 5th day, so I don't expect to. I'd say to probably expect something next week ;)
Tomorrow is an off day in terms of weights, but I will be kicking it up somoe with roadwork.

I would expect to see recovery first from this. And strength to progressively increase. A lot of people I know on CLOUT are feeling it kick in, right about where you are at now.
Oh, and by the way, I told you on the taste, however, I have elevated it to a 6.5. Anyhow, I am used to the taste, and the results are what matters. I look forward to your feed back on this.

The tingling sensation will not go away 100%, you are mixing two products which both have Beta-Alanine in them and this is a pronounce side effect of that.
I have taken the Body Octane for several months now and it is great.
One thing I do is mix it with Universal BCAA stack in ORANGE and it really helps the bitterness. This should mix favorably with the fruit punch in the Clout too.

I do not get tingles for Beta Alanine after 5 or 7 days. I can take 2 scoops of body octane without any tingles. I actually miss that during a workout!

Again, a lot of basketball. I been lucky, I usually don't get to play this much basketball. I do a lot of running and jumping, so I consider this cardio, especially full court. I also ran sprints for about 20 minutes.
Pump:
Nothing out of the normal, I'm not really noticing much increased pump, and don't think I'll mention the pump until I get a pump out of the normal.
Energy Effects:
Also, I'm not noticing increased energy all that much, so I won't be mentioning this either, until I notice difference.
Recovery:
Didn't work out yesterday, or had DOMS, so I didn't have much to recover from, but I thought that I'd mention that I'm not noticing much decrease in time resting between sets.

Is it possible for you to do this same exact chest workout next week? I would be interested to see how much your lifts jump up in each movement in one weeks time.
Each and every lift on every exercise for me is becoming dis****ingly easy. All this cannot be attributed to CLOUT though, as each day I take:
Preworkout AM
SCORCH
CLOUT
BODYOCTANE
XTEND
I also use XTEND, BODYOCTANE and CLOUT before bed. And supplement with Fish Oils, Protein Shakes, Vitamins & Antioxidants throughout the day.

Your training program seems like a lot of work. Has your strength gone up?
Yeah, it's quite a bit of work. I usually finish within 1-1.5 hours (weight training). It's the running that really gets to me. My strength hasn't really gone up all that much noticably, but it's only been 1 week.

J-Rod,
Many studies show that cinnamon can really lower blood sugar and have other benefical effects(lower bad cholesterol etc.). Since it lowers blood sugar, couldn´t it possibly be good to take with other supplements, especially creatine+carb ones? Do you know how it works, does it have an insulin like effect?
EAS used 4-hydroxyisoleucine in Phosphagen XT(stoped making it though), because it stimulates insulin production.. why isn´t this supplement more popular, do you have any research info on it? I´ve been chewing fenugreek seeds with my post work out cocktail, but maybe it doesn´t spike the insulin, because the seeds contain fibers which might actually lower the GI??
Maybe this belong in another thread? Could possibly mess beast´s log a little up.

Cinnamon is a mild PTP1B inhibitor, although it's not really tissue-specific in terms of glucose-disposal, so for non-diabetics I don't see it doing much of anything to improve glucose uptake or creatine transport. Most of the effects you're referencing have only been found in partially insulin-resistant diabetics. You wouldn't see similar effects in a healthy, fit athlete.
Beast, apologies for intruding on your log like this; I just thought I'd give him a quick answer so you can carry on. Cheers, good luck with your cycle.

Sorry for not posting this yesterday, I couldn't get online. Today I is the first day I feel the effects of CLOUT has hit me, and they hit me pretty hard. I know it'll sound a bit MuscleTechish, but my Inclined Bench went up 20 lbs. from last week. I hardly got it up, but did infact get it up. There are other factors involved with that I feel, such as the program I'm doing, and I did a different warm-up, but I feel a lot of this is definantly attributed to CLOUT, and BodyOctane. I was also going much stronger throughout the workout. Hopefully I can expect results like this as the test goes on ;)

I aplogize for missing your original post.
Go with 2 bottles of one product. This way you maximize the use of your money. If you get just one bottle of CLOUT and one bottle of BODYOCTANE it will only last you about a month.
If you get two bottles of CLOUT or two bottles of BODYOCTANE it will last you close to two months!!!
Go with BODYOCTANE if you just want better performance and want to maintain muscularity while possibly dropping body fat.
Use CLOUT if POWER, STRENGTH and SIZE are your primary goals.

Nope, haven't used it before, I was planning on using it after CLOUT. The best creatine I've used before using CLOUT was NO-Xplode. In my opinion, this blows that out of the water.

Use CLOUT if POWER, STRENGTH and SIZE are your primary goals.
thanks J-rod
i'll be going for 2 bottles of clout it looks like
i'll keep alog for ya when i get it in a few months

Pumping the Iron:
Bench Press (8x3)- 135x3, 145x3, 165x3, 165x3, 185x3, 185x3, 195x3, 195x3
Upright Neider Press (3x10)- 80x10, 90x10, 100x10
Closed-Grip Bench (3x6-8)- 165x8, 175x6, 175x6
DB Row (3x6-8)- 105x8, 105x6, 105x6
Wrist Curls(3x50)- 25x60, 25x60, 25x60
Roadwork:
None :(
Pump:
Not as good as a pump I've been having.
Recovery:
I'm not feeling as recovered between sets, although not to different. I noticed DOMS in my legs the other day, more then I've had.
Notes:
I didn't get much sleep last night, and I napped today for longer then I wanted to. This through my workout off, so I didn't get in much roadwork and it also effected my workout. I tried replacing Skull Crushers with Upright Neider Press because it was sorta hurting my elbows, but I don't think it'll stick. It really took it out of my shoulders, so I didn't do Military Press. Not a bad workout considering the cirumstances I guess. Another bottle of CLOUT should be arriving soon :D. Which is very good, because CEE is tasting like ass. I should be using up my last scoop of BodyOctane tomorrow, and I will be using Bulk Citrulline Malate in it's place

Ran sprints for 30 minutes.

Again, not that great of a pump.
Recovery:

Notes:
I did a different workout today because I'm going to be maxing out on Friday. I decided to go light, and I will not be lifting until my maxes on Friday. I still haven't recieved CLOUT, but am expecting it soon. BodyOctane is almost gone.

I get ample rest in between, don't worry ;)
I warmed up with jogging half a mile, then I mainly sprint short distances being that I'm a lineman. The longest sprint I did today was 100 yards. Shortest was 10 yards.

No workout today, just some running. I wanted to update though and say that I recieved my other bottle of CLOUT today, and will resume taking it today, stacked with citrulline malate. Thanks again Joey :). Also, thanks for sending another shirt :D
Since I will be maxing on Friday, I'm planning on taking tomorrow off, but will post what happened Friday evening.

So how many days were you without CLOUT?
And does this shirt at least fit? Also, have you noticed this formula to help in your sprinting. This is one area where I think this product can really help a lot, especially for the elite athlete.

Looks like I went 4 days without CLOUT. Well, I'm able to get the shirt on, but it's pretty tight, but I'm also pretty big. Once I cut, it should fit much better. I have noticed the benefits of CLOUT when it comes to sprinting. I'm feeling faster. Also, I'm able to go harder throughout my workout, I'm not as fatigued.

If I read correctly, according to this thread you have gone from doing 185 lb. for 3 reps on your last set of bench press to 215 for 3 reps in about 6 weeks! That is very impressive.
I commend you for your hard work in realizing this mark. Certainly "major" props need to go to you.

I'd say as a combo they worked very well, but I've used BodyOctane alone and haven't recieved strength increases like that. I would say that it was mainly Clout, but the BodyOctane definantly gave it an extra kick.

Good to hear. Seems like Clout might be better for strength and BodyOctane is better for endurance. I want both so I'm thinking of stacking them when my current supplements run out in about a month.

Great Job! You have hit several personal records in max and reps. I also noticed you have gained 7 lbs. What kind of weight gain is it? Meaning, have you put on quality lean muscle mass...how has the diet been?

Diet has been good, but I can't say all the weight gain is muscle. I put on weight pretty easily, both muscle and fat. I also tend to carry quite a bit of water. My diet has been better then ever, and I'm definantly noticing a more muscular, better looking me in the mirror.
