View Full Version : Water intake in between pre-judging and finals

I was talking to a fellow competitor the other day and he was telling me to do some pretty unorthodox stuff for my contest prep.

For one thing, he told me to take 300mcg clenbuterol the night before the show in order to lose any remaining excess water.

But the thing that really sounded crazy to me, was that he said to drink a ****LOAD of water in between the AM and PM show. He said to drink like at least a gallon of water, and that all of the water would be stored in the muscle and none of it would become subcutaneous water. He said that the only drawback was that it distended his stomach a bit, but by the time the finals rolled around, his waist was back down and looking trim.

Anyway, I was just wondering if any of yall have heard of or tried either of these two methods?

Also, I know he carbs up with pie filling, which I believe is pretty common. I don't have any pie filling to check...but isn't that stuff filled with High Fructose Corn Syrup?

hey man.

when it comes to the guys who are doing show that are not tested...you figure that they are clearly using some gear...and when you do that you have bigger water issues to deal with. I think in general, its a good idea to stay away from the extremes during day of the show.

Personally, and remember I am a natural competitor, I only sip distilled water as needed...basically as little as I can get away with. I feel I come in pretty dry with this method. Again however, the guys who use gear have other challeneges.

Gear or no gear...a gallon sounds like way too much.

As for pie filling...yeah, its high fructose corn syrup(most of it anyways). I use oatmeal to carb up. Insulin spikes will cause sub-Q water retention.

Well the pie filling combined with oats is nothing new.
That "clen" trick was used back in the day for fitness, but males do it for a "kick" for the extra water shedding compounds, which kick them into high gear.
Distilled is the ONLY water you should drink 2 weeks out, and not many BB's care about the night show judging is done AM, notice the pros who just start binging after the prejuding their usually the ones who know they made the top.
