First off im am new here and somewhat new to supplements. It seemed like every where i went cell tech was was the way to go. so i bought some. I was reading your "the best creatine" and it seems like you guys shun cell tech. I would like to know why. Im not saying you guys are wrong i just want to know why. I was reading about cell tech(not by cell tech distributers) about why cell tech is so good. What i read was that its good because "dextrose" is mixed into it. And with the dextrose it cause's an insulan spike in your body so when the insulan spike happens it force feeds your muscles the creatine. so is this true? Right now i am taking cell tech and nitro tech stack. i am 5'5 and weigh 168. when i started 2 months ago i was 145. so ive gained some weight. my goal is 200-205. I want to know if i should try something else instead of cell tech. thank you in advance

I was just in the same boat you are in now. Refer to "Stacking Supplements," which is a question I posted. The responses are still posted on page one as of 3-16-05 I asked if I could stack cell tech with nitrix oxide. In addition to an answer to my question, I got very negative responses about cell tech. I was referred to Creatine Ethyl Ester (CEE), a better creatine that will last longer than cell tech, without all the sugar in cell tech. Refer to http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/cee.html for more information on CEE. Hope this helps.

I would still like to know about the whole insulan spike thing with the dextrose. If this is true even if there was a product that lasted longer without the dextrose wouldnt the cell tech that is shoveing the creatine into you have more benifits? ONCE again i am not trying to say what is better and whatnot i just asking questions about what i read.

It's insulin, not insulan.

Cell tech is dextrose and creatine monohydrate, you can buy creatine monohydrate for 5$ a pound and dextrose for 1$ a pound, do the math and you'll see that cell tech is so overpriced it isn't even funny.

Dextrose is just a very simple sugar, it raises insulin becuase it enters the bloodstream rapidly and needs insulin to clear it, however, after a workout whey protein will have the same effect.

Insulin is the hormone that the body releases to get the nutrients out of the bloodstream and into your cells.

Why is this of any use though? Well, raising insulin has been shown to increase absorbtion of creatine so you want an insulin spike when you take creatine.

IOW, the only thing wrong with cell tech is the ridiculous price.

for 12 dollars you can go to walmart and get 5 lbs of basically the same product as cell tech 5 grams of creatinf and like 35 grams of dexrose cell tech is basically the same thing with a bigger serving so u can just take 2 scoops instead of one and it also has an added 1 g of taurine imo a good supplement for cheap

I take my creatine with my post workout whey/dextrose/sodium shake (or morning shake on non-training days), about 60 grams of whey, 30 grams of dextrose and 2-3ml of sodium (regular table salt).

If i were to take it with dextrose alone i would probably take 45-60 grams of dextrose post workout or in the mornings (on non-workout days).
