im 6 weeks out from my first show im 22, 5'6 186lbs 9% bf.and need to get down to 176. According to Lyanes diet calculator i should be takeing in:
cal 2190
fat 48.5
carbs 205.5
protein 232.5
is this enough to keep my energy levels up while workoing out hard. And is this calculation going to work for meand my goal.
at this rate my diet alone will help me lose 7.2 lbs of muscle.once again according to layne, so i figure the cardio will take care of the rest...?

The numbers look good, although I would aim for carbs at 160, take protein up to 250.
At 168 lbs currently I'm aiming for 125-130 carbs a day, 225 protein. Iam doing a refeed avery 5 days, taking carbs up to 200 and dropping prtoein down some.
Layne also suggests you eat about 35% of your daily cals pre-workout, and splash in 30-35% more post workout to you don't go too catabolic. I started sipping Universal Lava while lifting to further ensure I stay on the edge of being anabolic.
How much cardio are you doing? I'm doing 30 minutes of HIIT 5 days a week, burns 400 cals per session, almost .75 lbs a week. Since February I have dropped almost 2 lbs a week while I was cutting.
How has your cutting gone so far? How long have you been cutting already?

depending upon how much he weighs i think his pro/carb #s are fine. at his age his insulin sensitivity is through the roof and can tolerate a lot more carbs and does not need as much protein to get the same stimulatory effect

You sound like you are right on track. If you have been following Layne's programs & protocol thus far just TRUST his guidance. If you start second guessing & tinkering with other peoples ideas & philosophies you will quickly get confused.
Keep really detailed notes for future reference.
Best of Luck!
