I will be using this product for 50 days at 5 softgels per day split into a 2+2+1 schedule.

I will post my current stats and major lifts and then compare these measurements taken after the 50 day trial period. This log will also be updated to document any noticeable effects from taking this supplement.

Product Information:

X-Factor (http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/mn/xfactor.html)(Arachidonic Acid) is an essential fatty acid, which is consumed in small amounts in our regular diets. It is found mainly in the fatty parts of meats and fish (largely in red meat).

Our daily intake, even in those who eat a lot of red meat, is relatively small, owing to how little is actually found here1. For example, the visible fat area on beef only contains anywhere from 20 to 180 milligrams of arachidonic acid per 100 grams (nearly a quarter pound) of fat!2. In the lean portion of meat the arachidonic acid content is even lower.

Since this particular fatty acid is so scarce, the average western diet provides only about 230 milligrams of this important nutrient to each of us per day3. The body is also adept at regulating tissue arachidonic acid levels, which means that diet alone is not enough to impart a short term anabolic effect.

Highlights:

Increased workout productivity (Intensified residual soreness)
Increased pumps (Greater nutrient availability to the muscles)
Increased androgen receptors (Amplifying the anabolic actions of testosterone)
Increased protein synthesis rates (Accelerated muscle and strength gains)

Supplement Facts:

Serving Size: 1 Softgel
Servings Per Container: 90

Amount Per Serving:
Arachidonic Acid: 200mg

Directions for Use:

Directions: Take 1 softgel daily for long-term supplementation. Take up to 5 softgels daily for brief "loading cycles" not to exceed 50 days. Repeat loading cycles only after 50 days of normal supplementation.

Started taking X-Factor today so nothing spectacular to report

I havn't been using any supplements except for whey (Dymatize Elite) and multivitamins (Animal Pak) for 2 weeks prior so this will give us some quality feedback on arachidonic acid alone.

I should also add I'm cutting right now, my goal is to keep cutting until I'm back down to around 8-10%

Its been one week using X-Factor and today's chest/tris/shoulders session has left me with something positive to say.

I'm starting to feel really NICE full pumps - better than anything I had with Nitric Oxide supplements. I ended my shoulder workout with partial clean and presses, and I'll just say its been a while since I've been unable to lift my arms up properly after a workout.

Today was back/bi's and I was feeling really tired, but as always I busted out another intense session.

Had a decent pump throughout the workout but I lowered my volume on deadlifts from the usual 5 sets because I was completely wasted after 3.

Note: Do not try to bite the caps to see how they taste..

Just had a chest/tris workout. Decent pumps throughout and my lifts are up slightly more than I would usually progress - will post exact stats soon.

I've also decided to take shoulders off my Monday workout now because my arms cant handle it anymore, I'm giving them their own day on Tuesday so I now have a 4 day split.

Bodyweight is also down 2lb

I was just getting to it :p

Had back/bis on Wednesday and I'm still getting pretty solid pumps, although I'm noticing they dont last very long. My deadlift is 352x8 now - up from 6 reps at the same weight which is a very good sign since I am cutting

Its Thursday now and I had a morning cardio session earlier. Will change to a 4 day split from Monday

I just finished the bastard stepchild of Satan's leg/shoulder workout.. I feel sick.

I walked into the house and my mother commented on how big my shoulders look. Looks like those 12 sets of partial clean and presses were worth it.

Besides that I also started noticing a bit of acne a few days ago - I got myself some prescription antibiotics so hopefully that should help

Had a chest/tris workout this morning and noticed a slight increase in strength (managed an extra rep on every set for chest)

Bodyweight is down 4lb since the start of the trial too, combined with the fact that strength is up also I'm pretty happy so far

Havn't noticed any soreness though and the pumps dont seem to last very long

Havn't updated since Monday.. just been busy with uni assignments and work

On Tues I had a pretty good shoulder workout, Thursday's back/bis workout was the same and today I'm about to hit legs/shoulders

Nothing significant to report at this stage, I'm still enjoying decent pumps throughout my workouts and feeling much leaner. Still no muscle soreness

I've had an extremely hectic week so forgive the lack of updates, taking the max workload at uni combined with a running a small business and working out can take its toll :(

I have still managed to stick to my 4 day split and strict diet. Workouts this week were shorter (45 mins instead of the usual 1-1.5 hour) but they consistently leave me with a great pumped up feeling as I leave the gym.

Strength is up quite a bit to my surprise, I think I can attribute this to the X-Factor as many of my previous cutting cycles left me stagnating with practically the same weights every week.

My bodyweight is down 6lb total since the start of the trial and I'm guestimating my bf is around 12-14% - my buddies think its closer to 10% but I'll get a more accurate test done later next week.

Its been a very productive week. My bodyfat came back at 12% just as I had predicted which is a 4% decrease since the start of the trial (over a 6 week period). My bodyweight is also down 8lb (from 224lb to 216lb)

I am continuing to notice my muscles are looking much fuller and strength is still increasing gradually although I havn't increased any of my lifts this week. May have been because my diet was a little more restrictive as I'm trying to squeeze the last few lb's of fat off now

On another note, today is also the start of my mid-semester break at uni so I'm going to cheat a little with the alcohol and I may or may not get extremely fu-ked up! :D

I'll be finished with my trial later this week and I'll post up a comparative table that highlights my progress. You planning to cut with it?

Here are my final results:

Before and After Body Composition

Weight: 224lb ----------- 214lb -10lb

Bodyfat: 16% ----------- 11% -5%

Before and After Measurements:

Chest - 48.25 --------------- 48.45 +.20"

Arms - 17.75 ---------------- 17.75 no change

Forearms - 14.25 ------------ 14.5 +.25"

Legs - 28.25 ---------------- 28.5 +.25"

Calves - 18 ----------------- 18 no change

Waist - 34.5 ---------------- 32 -2.5"

Before and After Basic Lifts

Deadlift: 352lb x 6 ---------- 352lb x 8

Squat: 308 x 6 ------------- 308 x 8

Bench: 202lb x 6 ----------- 206 x 6

Lifts have not increased significantly, but this can be attributed to a calorie restricted diet and less intensity in the gym as this was a cutting cycle. I'm considering another cycle while bulking in a few months.

I am impressed with this product because it provided good pumps and steady fatloss throughout the cycle with minimal side effects. My results have been significant enough to consider this a worthy supplement and others have experienced more than satisfactory gains in strength and LBM while maintaining or reducing their bodyfat.

This is a very new and innovative supplement, I share Bill's outlook in terms of the product's potential.
