View Full Version : Good routine while doing soccer?

I'm currently on Rippetoes and seeing good progress, but will the 3x a week squatting+ running a LOT every day be overkill for my legs?
If it is too much, what would be a good routine? I'm looking at westside right now but i need your opinions

Find stuff that focuses on abs/obliques while you're at it

Yes, I think you're overdoing the legs. During the season don't bother working out your legs hard at all. Game time will take care of that! During the off-season hit them hard. If you're legs are recovering from 3 workouts during the week then you're more than likely to pull them during a game or practice. Then you're talking about weeks of recovery and that sucks.

in season you should focus on low volume and intensity for maintaining your gains.
