Ive been starting this for a month now. The courage that it takes to put your self out here is phenomenal. (You ladies are the BOMB!)
I figure "how & the heck are you going on stage Naked "almost" and afraid of a little/lot of well need criticism". Posting pics this evening, if all is successful.

Body Building is my fire!

Forgot supplements above:
L-Glutamine
7 - Keto(just started)
Lean Out(just started)
Vitamin Power Pak(too long to list)
On a rough day - Redline

Just talked to my consultant/Mentor - starting today Posing every other day for 30-45 min and between each working set. This will shake off the nerves, huh?

When i did my first BB show, for the 4 months prior right up to the morn of the show. i visualized me on stage, no one out there in the audience, just me doin my thing..everywhere i went, when i could i listened to my routine music, and visualized it from start to finish, from me walkin onstage to leaving after..and u kno what? i did practice my routine of course, but when i went on stage, all i remember is them callin my name, takin a deep breath and goin into visualize mode, next thing i kno, im backstage again, my trainer tellin me i nailed every single part of my routine!!I dont even rember being onstage by myself!! Then again, i had the flu, maybe i passed out..lol..wait no, i got pix to prove it! haha..hope this helps a bit..

Your on a roll. Your weekend was committed as WHAT! SO help with the HIIT PLEASE. What do you do to receive the most from it. Im "cardioaddicted", so when I finish I feel the results, but just cant get over the time element. It seems 20min is so drastic from my 55min. Im using the efx climber or the elliptical rotating levels by multiplying the level and resistence by 2. I just started so natually I havent seen any results yet, your opinion, Please???

I thought I'd post this in your journal and mine. I'm not sure which one you will check first and you might want it in yours for later reference. :)

I hate cardio. No, I DESPISE cardio. If you are doing HIIT correectly, you shouldn't be able to do 55 minutes. On my moderate cardio days, I do an hour or so. I have some cardio videos at home and a jump rope. So, I jump for a minute and do the video for a minute. I have kickboxing and step videos, so I alternate between those. Your intervals may not be intense enough. Intensify your hard intervals much more and you should see results.

Honestly, I don't know if I have any results. I look at myself everyday and I am very very critical of myself. I have pictures and will take more progress pictures in 2 weeks. I'll be able to really see if there have been any changes. I feel so good after doing it though. Jumping rope really makes you work your core. It forces you to stabilize your entire body in order to jump efficiently. Hopefully, this has done SOMETHING to my body! I've only been doing it for a short time also, but I think that I should see some results after a month.

MMA - Where are those pix?

If I leave out Saturdays menu, Ill be able to live with myself. I tried HIIT for the 1st time and I was so hungry it scared me. Every 2 hours I was "stomach-caving-in-hungry" didnt like this feeling at all.
I attended our local NPC Novice show. Again, a real learning experience. You can really evaluate your crappy discipline, when you see those out there who have worked and those who didnt. What was amazing to me was seeing more fat than I would have been comfortable with showing if Iwas competing. Knowing this is my weakest area, it made me reflect on my lazy leg day. There is a will, so I know Ill find the way to "BRING IT" the right way.

Why in the world are you doing powerflex AND lifting? You don't really need all that...you're probably overtraining. Don't you think you'll burnout soon?

Angeleye- So nice to see another women who has a passion for bodybuilding. I am very impressed with your progress made in the last year, you lost alot of inches.

If you are anything like me then you spend time looking at female bodybuilers who have been doing this for a few years. I like amandad.com, and nicoleberg.com. Then when you look at the novice bodybuilders at the shows they don't seem to compare. I found that by looking at the novice level bodybuilders who are in the same position as me boosted my confidence. My expectations get too high when I look at the national level bodybuilders.

Do you include an essential fatty acids, Udo's oil or Flax? This should help with the hunger. Are you tracking you calories or ratio's? Your complex carbs look really low, I tried this and it didn't go very well, my body just held onto everything. Let me know how things are going.

Can't wait to see pictures

My water intake along with my consistency with my supps was horrible. Ive recommitted to it today. I'd hate for something so small to hurt me. Besides I dont have the money to thow away$$$$$$$

Hi angel
I was just checking out your post... YOU ROCK on the stats from a year ago til now... You really dropped inches. that's awesome. How did you do it? What was your carb/pro/fat ratio? Did you do supplements the whole time. Did you cycle them at all? Was most of it weights and how much cardio? Did you bulk then cut?
sorry for all the quesions, but I am trying to decrease my measurements and lose pounds too, but yet get more definition.

Kris - seated extensions, curls, press, bb squats, dls., db lunges. Plie squats every other day. I feel the muscle(I think its shy & doesnt want to show itself :>) Im checking your site now for your reply to the other question.

kkapp - I wish I would have been more disciplined in doc.my history but here goes:Most importantly MY DIET. I wasnt eating any protein. My ratios where moved to 40/30/20
Exercise: Cardio 3 days(2 classes back to back = 1hr hi impact ie. step, kickboxing & 1hr class power lifting) day 4 cardio - reg class. I think these two elements dropped inches. Supplements from day one where glutamine, creatine, fat burner. Weight training is more effective for my body type when done in spilts. Whole body training was too much in addtion to my cardio work. My diet for competition started mid-jan. I posted it on top. It by far has given me the most results - lean ratio. I see my consultant this week for the cutting diet. I really thought this would have been sooner but He said I wasnt ready until now.

SS - scale says Im losing a .5-.75 lbs per week. Comp date I should be 6lbs leaner. I wish I knew how to comp. for how many fat lbs that would be.????

Hey you!

I should have asked before...how much weight are you lifting on these? They look like good exercises. I don't know if you saw my pics or not...my legs look soft, but are not soft at all. I do walking lunges with 45's in each hand, romanian deadlifts, barbell squats, and stepups. That's it! Oh yea, and I walk on the treadmill on a really high incline. THAT will get your legs so nice...lift your junk up high and everything! :)

OKAY - your right torture. I cant tell you the last time my legs were this tight!!!! I love it:> Calm me down. I could get addicted to this too! I now know 20 min can be more effective than 50. Intervals are a part of my pwerflex, I should have used my common sense & started this earlier.

YAY!!!! I'm glad you like it. Or hate it...or both! It's can be a love/hate thing. I love getting up in the AM and kicking my azz, having those endorphins buzz all day, and sweating like a fool. But it is torture!

Hey just peeked in here and wanted to say you will lean up nicely. In regards to legs what is you foot placement on the press? I started doing a superset of 3x10 with feet low and touching close together then move wide and up high. Makes me burn like no tomorow and my outer sweep has come a long way. First time I did those I thought I was going to pass out.

angeleye
03-18-2005, 07:57 AM
its so cool - and the only way to describe it is power circuit. Ballys calls it Powerflex. Step warm-up, 2 min wt on each group, flr exercise for abs and glutes, and kicks or a run at 1/2 way point, depending on the volume of the class. My Sculptor teaches the class. Whats real cool is he knows Ive missed a group he will increase emphasis on that. Like I missed shoulders/calves hell add extra today and ask me to pick up the pieces 2morrow.

At 5pm when I finally dragged myself of the couch, the fiend came out. I had to at least do Yoga. I must say a very good way for me to ease out the aches and kinks of the virus. hey,

you look pretty good and you have plenty of time to make changes before your contest. As long as you're making progress, you're on the right track. Just keep at it! Remember, it's not how you look today...it's how you look when you step on stage.

As far as my leg routine is concerned...my background is in competitive powerlifting so I've always done free bar ass to the grass squats. Plus, i'm blessed genetically with having big ass legs. Currently, I'm not sticking to any set routine, but I always try to incorporate the basics - squats (although I'm starting to get away from them, since I think my legs are far ahead of my upper body), straight leg deadlifts or good mornings, etc. My calves don't really respond to training...they always look the same whether I train them or not...but I still do calf work.

Anyway, I hope that helps. Goodluck!

Found a thread in sub: calves in "Topic of the week" I cant wait to try - it came to me after listening to J. N. Im excited about the progress I saw in the mirror last night. Just 24 hours after freakin out about the "POUND". Mental note: pay better attention to detail in documenting and reading so that I can be prepared for mood transitions and the foods that may also be sparking them. Cant wait for 2 night CHEST. I also think that finally stopping the procrastination on the routine last night, helped me realize I CAN DO THIS!

Just catching up on your journal! I LOVE how you write your mood in - That's a good idea. I think I'm going to start that in mine. Here's hoping for more hyper days!!! :)

How did your leg days go? Back is your fav day? I find that one tricky to isolate properly - but like it too. It takes concentration for me. I love bicep days (even though I still don't have any! lol!)

Leg day was soooo much better. Im truly falling into line with this being a 60/40 mental/physical lifestyle. After consuming all the carbs yesterday, today just seems more balanced. I lost my last meal due to getting home from the gym so late. Why it was so crowded is a mystery to me. It was almost 80 here yesterday. Im assuming that it hit alot of people hard knowing that in a few short days they will be exposing that which they have been hiding and are trying to step the game up. The sad part is, now instead of enjoying the environment during summer like US NUTS, they will be in the gym! Ha ha(cocky attitude=someone who hasnt procrastinated in, oh, the last 24 hours :>)

Trial day on the new suit Sunday. I wore the tiny thing to the Pool at the gym. Outside of the initial fear(took me 10 min to leave the locker room) I did pretty well :> T says initial emphasis this week: glutes.(At the begining of each week we look at failures last week, and goals for the upcomming week.)
I notice that some groups slip by us. We say "skip it now well come back" and it usually gets forgotten.

Is there any new ways to mask tuna into something more fruitty smelling?:>(im bad lunch company!)

You will make it your almost there. I am going through the same thing. Remember its just right around the corner. It is all a mind game and sometimes you will feel like your crazy for doing this but it takes the few elite to do this. Not everyone can do the diet and workout only the ones who want it and want to win it. Just think your competitors are doing the same or maybe slipping some on diet and if your on all the time you know how good you will look. I always think about the other girls and how bad they want it so that makes me want it even more. I am very competitive when it comes down to it. This is the hardest part right now until show time, just know that I am here cheering you on. you will be the greatest.....

Pretty un-nerving! But all I know is I want it. BAD. Over the weekend my cold continue to grow stronger in chest congestion and further more accompanied by an allergic reaction to grapefruit leaving me under nutrients on sat, sun, and mon. The reaction came in the form of canker sores inside my mouth. Over 15 of them. Even water fells like glass cutting my gums. I finally figure if I didnt take anything for the pain and eat I was going to pass out. ( My dumb butt continued to workout on Sun and Mon.) Im feeling much better today, but the Motrin may still be working. I have to eat every meal today just to regain some energy. Im going to completely rest today from rountine and posing and double up time on Thursday.

Drastic reality hits: No change from last months photos :>

what should my coffee intake be limited to?
where should my water intake be 5 weeks out?

Sis-

You gotta feel better...the show is so soon. You can't still be so sick and trying to do a show! How are the sores today? THANK YOU for resting today. You need it.

Eh hem...lack of sleep is a HUGE problem, miss. You are not working out today, get some sleep! Bust your butt to get everything done and TRY to get 7 hours, at least.

No mayo. Mustard is fine. No dairy products or bread products at all now. Cardio should be 3-4 sessions a week. Protien should be high and add more veggies too. brown rice or yams or oats are okay. Since upping protien take in more water and add a potassuim and calcuim supplement.

workout seems good. Are you tanning now?

"Truth Hurts" - Let me tell ya about my weekend!
So for me measurements SUCK! Body Fat ABSOLUTELY THE SAME. UP one pound.(I know my cycle cant be doing this much damage!) So did I make good with this - off course not. First of all, all the Bulemic tendencies I thought I had learned to deny, resurfaced. I went to the show and ate - yes Popcorn. 1/2 a bag. DONT EVEN TYPE IT - I ALREADY KNOW. This isnt the spirit of a champion - more like a quitter. Im going to make this long SAD A** STORY SHORT and say, Im so mad at myself and numbers, its time for revenge.
I litterally have told my family(not kids :>) They wont see or hear from me until May 22. I have to focus and on this last stage of this diet Im on, I got enough problems! I honestly Im not strong as I used to be in my social circles, which usually are surrounded by lots of wonderful foods(lots of cooks) also, my patience have never been this short(sidebar: nor my senses so in tune - between my food appetite and "other" appetite I dont know which one has me more cranky, I cant get to either quick enough :>
So on to the solutions????????????? Outside of the attitude adjustment - SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME, why no changes?????? Never mind, why dont I take a week and do all the things Ive already been told, and see!

You do have to cut friends and family out these last few weeks. I know I do. My friends know when its competition time they do not hear from me until its over. I can not be around the temptations of good food and spirits or I will cave. They should understand. Yes you will be cranky I know I am. Hubby knows not to even question anything atm or off with his head.

You can do it I know in my hearts of hearts you can. That one pound could be water usually on monday that happens wait till wed or thrus to weigh and measure again. Remember me stating in my journal (just a couple of weeks ago) about how I was upset because I was up and measurements weren't moving. Then I redid everything on Wed and I actually lost. So don't frett stress makes it worse. I am sure you are okay and probably actually down once you get the water off.

Remember you are a strong beautiful woman and CAN DO THIS and WILL DO THIS. :)

The last month can sometimes be totally rough b/c it's crunch time no cheating....noticed you didn't do cardio your last workout. How much cardio are you doing currently?

Let me tell you- sunday I found out I had bounced not one but a few checks- first time ever! I cried to my boyfriend literally for hours b/c I know it's my lifestlye....I can barely afford it!!! I mean after awhile he was like why are you still crying....then I just was like you know why. Lack of carbs for a long period of time, training my body HARD.... I haven't seen many of my friends in a long time- they wonder if I am alive- it's just easier to be away from the negative things while this close....don't be sad! We are here to support you girl! Keep on keepin on...

4.27 Happy Wednesday!

Only Yoga yesterday.
Hi SV - Im 132-134. I was leary as well, novice and all. But as always, I bite the bullet and trust the Guru - who's theme song is "u must trust me!" His therory. Less cardio - more time AWAY from Gym. Get in/hit it hard/get out kinda guy. Bottom line - adjustment is a BEAST. Im super hungry!

Middle of the week state of mind re-build :> What a great day for a workout. 4:30 posing and worked on routine. Aaron decided last night that the smell of the ommelette was much more intriguing than the site of it pre-cooked. And actually shared mine with me last night. So this morning I left one waiting for him :> 2nd grade will be up'd a notch with all that protein! Did I mention my 7.75 yr old is 4'10, 100ish#, and solid muscle. I didnt get those genetic wonders :< But Im WORKING at it. Looking foward to todays workout. Adding shoulders to chest. Excited about what changes the rotation will bring. Shaking legs up has had incredible results. The most obvious, the hardness. They have been bricks since Monday night.

I am officially jealous of A. Where did those genetics come from and can I borrow them for a few months? Just to get my body where it is supposed to be? :D

So, the legs are coming along? Good stuff! 3.5 weeks out, girly! You're going to hear my cheering for you in Houston that day. Make sure you tell me the time, also.

Really felt the pain in Kwando, no momentum at usually 1/2 way point, couldnt get kicks up as high (payback from mondays lunges). Everything was extrememly tough to do! So its safe to say things are alot different in this cal/carb state. Not doing well getting to my pre & post w/o meal? Wondering what the time span should be prior and after?
Note: missed glutamine 2 days in a row - soreness last night was unbearable!

chest/no time 4 shoulders :<

decl press: 10/8/6/15 45-65
pec flye:10/8/6/15 30-45-60

Cut myself across the wrist during meal prep last night- GROSS - I could literally see the vein I cut across/also never seen the white tissue b4 :< - Im such a baby, I start to pass out but am caught by my husband. This from someone who wanted to be a doctor! All that to say that I thoght I was going to be in emergency but the bleeding lightened up. Its still thobbing somewhat.

I'm not an expert but low calories = body goes into starvation mode = you will hit a plateau. Fueling your body with more food with help you to lose fat and gain muscle. Just a suggestion!

K- bump! you are right. when you go into starvation mode your muscles turn into fat; hence doing the opposite of the specific goals.

Wow...those are really low calories. Two days in a row, too? And workouts on those days? How in the world do you do legs with that? Do you think that the low cals and lack of carbs is causing you to function inadequately and MAYBE that's how you got cut last night? Be careful...I don't want to see you get hurt! :(

I have my preworkout meal ~1.5 to an 1 hr before my workout and my post workout meal directly after, which is never more than 15 minutes later.

If you start feeling to light and weak, eat a piece of fruit at least. You need it right now, so it seems...

I feel the same about the counts and this may be hard to believe, but this diet comes from my nutritionist/consultant. The only reason I do trust him is "he is the MAN" in the Metro area. Its like a honor to have him consult with you. Not to mention his been in the industry over 30 years. I expressed the same opinion, and he said my body needs transition time. He cancelled our appt. yesterday, but I will be talking to him again soon, to give him the details of my progress. Honestly, I tried to quit my cup of coffee but that isnt getting ready to happen. I need every extra source of energy.

I seem to battle with calories as well. Sometimes I worry I'm getting too little, but I'm totally eating, and not full. To get more I would have to force myself to eat.

Although the natural peanut butter is good for you and it's a little higher in calories than other food options. Adding a tablespoon every once in awhile might help.

3 weeks to walking into my Dream! So official and far more real than when I started this journey. I knew at this point I would be more detailed in journaling - I anticipated this being the most indepth part of my journey . Re-posting my pix also gives me the opportunity to do a side by side because according to the masters all the work starts to progress now. I want to intensely follow my mood, diet(times, workout, and checklist(prep for comp day)
Worked with choreographer(Nicole) yesterday. All I can say is "Its HOT" It moves pretty fast but the tempo changes here and there to give me a rest inbetween. Im going to be doing more in 90 secs than I could ever imagine.

WHOA, look at me! I tanned on lunch 1st time ever in a bed:> After the 30 million questions I asked, I felt silly when it was over before I got that nap in.

Competion consultation today. Hope he likes what I like on this frame, if not, all hell to pay for the next 19 days to go, what the heck do I mean, I got a feeling thats coming anyway. More pix tonight. Hopefully all is well - but the bottom line (my crew's motto: IIWII IT IS WHAT IT IS - Now do something!)

mood: ready
Over the weekend there were some downfalls. Im attributing to my laziness. Not being prepared for meals will cost me If I dont get it together. Sat and Sun fall apart because its loose and free time for me. I have to incorporate some degree of my work schedule discipline - or suffer the consequences.
Although I stayed on point, I ate a handful of popcorn(again!) when we were at a graduation reception on Saturday. It was that or crackers and cheese. Also waking later and pushing the meals back gets messy for me.

Hi there. No, it's not a lot of anything, but I just posted a diet in the "Nutrition" section that's a carb cycle and I was worried about total cals too, but my trainer states this has worked for several women for shows. Well, you deserve a billion compliments coming from that to where you are now. Our stats are similar. That is just amazing to me. I'm so motivated by anyone that's made that sort of a change. It is hell on earth for me to drop 5-10 lbs. anymore so I am truly astounded by anyone that could lose 37 and in a healthy, body re-sculpting manner. Best of luck to you. Todays entry wont be easy reading, its strictly 4 me. A reminder of the consiquences of procrastination, and 1/2 azz discipline:<

Im a big girl, 1st of all!.............besides I dont have anymore tears left sooooooo, Last night I go to see my consultant, he looks me dead in the eye and says "your not ready", I proceed to cradle my self in suit, as directed, and further take a face crashing, " your lower back, glutes upper quads full of fat storage, I dont want you to do the show." He was humane enough for me to ask me "what in the world is causing you to NOT be focused on your LIFES DREAM" We end up talking in depth about all the things Ive been suppressing and some hurtful truths came out in relation to my hidden stresses and eating habits, and the possiblity that this sometimes releases a hungry creating hormone, obviously one I didnt have the determination to fight!

Long story short, new date, new diet, new attitude. So through holding back my tears, I give in to his adivice and pick the Fame - Canada show june 10-12, open class.........However, after Talking with T, the fighter in me comes on the scene, the first thing he says, "do you want to give in or fight, its totally up to you?" He truly feels that my cheats were horrible mistakes, but this close, we can fight it to the last sec, and if Im not at peak, Ill have enough time to revamp the plan to go in June with KRAZY confidence.

So whatcha thinkin ladies?????????

The objective: To rememer why Im doing this: to help others become responsive, educated, responsible individuals with there health and fitness! We are proof that change is possible, it is far more important than our community outreach has made it.

I know it doesnt matter BUT.....................scale movement. Exactly 3#'s since Monday. Im thinking H20 because Im much firmer now whereas I was soft to touch on Monday.

Tire showing 2 different rows of treads when I noticed after work on yesterday. Needless to say I was late geting to the gym. T started w/out me and I wasnt doing chest by myself. Did a moderate step class with a break, where we did relay sprints with a partner. It felt like WHOA! I was able to get some shoulders in before the desire to pass out kicked in.

Got a not so nice burn on my upper thigh, tummy, & a little on my back. In a hi/12min, I think Ill just do 10 next time. I put aloe on it for the itchy feeling, now my only question is how do I know when to go back!!!!!!!!!

mood: mellow

Look at that killer cardio! No wonder you are dropping weight...dang girl!!! Congratulations on the weight loss! And you know what to tell that consultant when you see him again...

Shrimp are just tedious little things. You have to devein them and pinch the tails and all of that. For the work you do, the nutrition is not all that great when you can season and throw a chicken breast on a grill.

Take it easy on the tanning bed...I don't want you to get too crispy for your show. Plus, a burn won't be pretty on stage and you are looking too good to have a little flaw like that. ;)

not an excuse - just a sidebar....Is there anyone else living in a city where EVERY MAJOR FREE/HIGH WAY is in some form of construction. My time limitations from taking double the time to get to the gym is decreasing the amount of work Im able to put in. Tried a different location and thought it was definitely worth the decision. The weights and machines were far more current than my location also its nice seeing new faces some times as well :>

Hi chickie-
Its okay to set the show back if you want that should be your decision and no one elses. You are a strong willed woman and look great. Three weeks is still time to make small changes believe I have changed alot in the past 2 weeks. I chew gum like a maniac and I have my six pack. but my water comsumption is very high and I have noooooo cheats. Oh just a suggestions on diet try eating some brocili with a couple of your meals. I have been going through 4lbs of it every 3-4days. It feels you up and helps me deal with the strict diet. Keep up the great work and just know as always your beautiful your strong and you can accomplish anything.

Amazing - today I actually packed brocoli for 2 of my meals - GET OUT OF MY BRAIN! I made it the last time I went to the 'house of sweets' - my parents house, it was the only thing in the house I could heat without thawing out chix. I put garlic, ms dash/tomato,basil, and .5 tsp of molly mc's - microwaved quick enough so that it stayed crunchy. The whole fam put up the mashed potatoes and GOT DOWN! 2 morrow for his birthday party he asked me to make it :>

Ive been MIA since Friday, because life has felt "hijacked" by the many events, tasks, and errands that will eventually fill the month for me. Although Mother's day and my sister/fathers b-day is on the same day, I did a awesome job turning down all the wonderful tasting garbage I normally consume during this time. I was even more surprised at my drive when my sister bailed and made me make MACARONI AND CHEESE. (Believe me its not the box kind) Needless to say, I did Taste to season(I personally think all great cooks do ;>!, but thats a different brag card!)

My very first down on to the track, I felt a sharp pain that I didnt ever want to revist again. Needless to say I was in and out of the gym in 20min, 5 of those were waiting for the staff to bring ice. Ice/heat/elevate/compress where the instructions that I followed for the rest of the evening and by morning I felt like new. HOWEVER, repair takes longer than 12 hours OBVIOUSLY, because while crawling into my very low Hon. Civic, the pain appears AGAIN! Not a sign all day and then BAAM! But the best part - my dumb bu.. forgot again when I got out the car coming to work this am. OOOOOOOOOKAY! I think Ive learned my lesson 3x - do you think it will take 4! Its weird, the only position its uncomfortable in is getting in and out of the car,and on steep steps. Anyways, Its got until Sat - becasue I got work to do.

Im a little bit all-over-the-place. The weather leads me to believe I might have that "Seasonal Disorder" crap.(and I never claim ANY sickness) Ive been High as a kite on the days the sun and weather have done "its thing" and when overcast hits, Im so mellow, like a state of senselessness -is this a word??? Im also very short patience, or my age is kicking in, Im aweful "kirt" lately. Even my kids are falling in the path on un-hesitant discipline, not that that there spoiled buns didnt need it. The discouragement is always in the morning for me, my skin is so loose then, but before bed you cant tell me a thing! ;> My abs are as tight and visual as in "wanna be pro" Mostly, I keep playing back those truths from my consultant: If you are sot strong why did you let something as small as a morsel of food ruin your life long hopes and dreams, If you are so strong why did you defeat your SELF. OBVIOUSLY - YOU WANT TO EAT MORE THAN YOU WANT TO FULFILL THIS DREAM. JUST GO EAT A PIZZA AND START FROM SCRATCH"

HOW IN THE @%$* DO YOU FORGET STATEMENTS LIKE THAT! - I dont know why he was so cruel BUT I do know the truth hurts.

wb - did you get my link? whatcha think about that????
how could I forget - the consultant/possible judge- professional, except late??? He never gave any indicators of how to WIN the contest, but he showed how to be at your BEST. I postioned him after he attempted it first. To give him a feel for what/what not each postion should fell like. Other tips were: Angle poses to face jugdes, i.e side chest is really not a side view at all
relaxed stance is flexed and not relaxed at all
Deeper breathes after pose is set raises the symetry
always always always plant feet first and dig before finishing pose.
All poses include legs no matter what the call is. Pin knees together to enhance quad.
All poses are upright - dont cave in or ball up to show more.

Most of these were very helpful to him because he doesnt subscribe to bb.com where there are awesome videos that would have helped him

Grrrrr...so it wasn't what you expected or wanted? Why couldn't he just tell you what you REALLY wanted to know?!?!

About the website...I've seen it before and I am torn between seeing beautiful women disgustingly displaying hard work and great bodies that have obviously had LOTS of gym time. These girls have amazing bodies and the site is inspirational, but come on...why all the seductive poses and raunchy wear? I think that, overall, the site is a great way to show that there are ethnic women in the fitness arena. I don't particularly like the video-girl-appeal, but it is still showcasing another aspect of fitness. Would I ever attempt to get on the site if I ever got into that sort of condition? Of course!

What did you think of it? Would you do it?

The first friday in a while where my time was not divided up into my childrens activites! Yeah, a chance for me to lug them around to my favorite places. My daughter is always game if shopping bags are included. Im sure my son will also find some dirt to get into, litterally.

??????
Today is "leg" day. )For those of you who have seen the pics. I cant afford to loose any training there.) The stress indicators have worn away for the most part(the pain) but there is evidence that bending it in a certain direction may irritate it again. Ive been very careful not to put it in that position, But, with me not being familliar with all of the quads rotations, how will I know WHAT NOT TO DO? I figure its best by far to reduce my weight, but Im really unsure WHAT exercises to do. When uncomfortability is present it extends from hip/joint down front of leg to above the knee.

What I am able to do at this point:
-atg squats, no weights, 100% form
-walk 2 miles at moderate/fast pace
-plie' lunges no weight.
What I am not able to do at this point:
-ab crunches where legs are lifted
-extended time on back with knees bent
- any sitting where im not positioned in a perfect 'L' , i.e. dangling legs

Changes for friday
This is a copy of a conversation me and Kris were having in regards to info shared with me from a personal trainer on another site. He does vist here and has displayed himself as nothing but a professional. If not mistaken he was bb.com pick transfomation for May. I was doing a search on problem Glute/Hamstring area. Based on his recommendation, Kris came up with this split. In addition, he also added that doing exercise in single leg would increase development in Glutes. With that said: "how in the heck do you do a single leg squat????? never seen it done, but sounds challenging with proper core posture.
"You'd do quads on a separate day from hamstrings. So you would do a split like this:

sun - Back/Hams - circuit
mon - Bis/Tris - pflex
tues - pose/routine/walk
wed - Chest/shoulders
thurs - pose/routine/walk
friday- Quads/abs - kwando
sat(spa) - walk

So, on back/Ham day you would do something like this: Sumo deadlift, leg curls/glute-ham raises, Romanian deadlift, assisted pull ups, and rows. Quad day could be: squats, lunges, leg press, etc. You'd want to do your hams earlier in the week so that you have full energy to focus on them."

Wow, It doesnt seem like its been an entire week. But sooo much has happened. Thursday and Friday are a blur because my life was suspended on what T needed to do. Needless to say we must have did all the right things. HE PLACED FIRST IN HIS CLASS AND OVERALL. He received his PRO CARD and will go to Toronto to compete in the Advanced Division. Look at his work, Im posting a pix. It was nice to see what my fellow competitors from this area looked like also. Its an awesome opportunity to get a feel for what you may be working with.

I can make a long story extra short by saying, because of the nature of the weekend(the visual and all) my diet has been ABSOULUTELY on point. In addition, so have my workouts! Hooray - hey look it takes alot to pat yourself on the back, especially when your used to jackin-up most of the time! Its kinda like the "High" I get when Im on time or even better yet early - see Im just learning this concept!!!!(dont you hate people who used to be like me - always late to everything)

BOYDIDIMISSTHEBRICKCHICKS

So a holiday, 3 birthday, and a birth all in one week. No longer its been so long since Ive made a hit. Most importantly, through it all. ON POINT - and no mistakes,( someone must want this really bad!!!)

Yesterday was the big day for all the apprehension. It may have been my physical appearence after the heavy carbs....but I look kinda flat. Also I just couldnt get the poses to be as fluid as I would have them to be. Since my weight will probably be a little lighter than expected, I would like to have my posing give me THE EDGE :>

Big hi's for today. Stops by Nutritionist, tan on lunch, chest day, posing, routine rehersal. oh yeah....passing out!

the picture thing has been more than a notion: my main photographer(working midnights, T- wife on a mission, feeling a little unconfident I figure, my Dad, toooo weirded out, I dont know how he's going to do at the show????? anyway, Ill working on that asap.
The details: everything seems to be in place .....sigh!, somethings Ive kinda dismissed to in-experience, like thinning out sooooo much(124.5), but even the idea of trying to judge myself next to Pro's is some sort of sick torture. Ive also, notice significant changes with the increase in weight on my DL's. Im still not sleeping as much as I would like, so Ill be working on that as well. My hunger is managable, but next week may be a dosey! T says I was ready last time so definetly now, I say we will all see JUNE 11TH!

sidebar: since the bf% scares - I still havent tested again. Im staying away, to avoid jumping ship!

People start asking me if I am going to fade away to nothing! haha Seems like you are right on track...freaking out as we all do! haha So your dad is weirded out? By your sudden interest or the weight loss? Lots of people don't understand...that's when you get to teach them! :D

Im out of control SORE/BEAT UP/BROKE DOWN and I love it! The last two days have been wonderful. Using more concentration in movement, focusing on form and posture, and actually turning off the music to "listen" to my body have increased the intensity of my workout. Not that I shouldnt have been doing this all along, but Im just breaking up the idea of procrastinating with new ideas. My chest w/o wasnt huge but it was effective - I kinda like that! Feeling a small pull in quad so just going to keep it elevated with some ice today.
Only 15 min at tb. Need more time today. Color finally coming in and Ive been 4x wk since May 1st. That took far longer than expected.

All the fear of looking scrawny has disappeared I video taped last nights posing session. Outside of me looking very uncomfortable in different poses, not so bad. The camera actually helped on this one. Im praying the judges have that same camera view, RIGHT? It also, broke up fear coming down to that sports bra right out in the open. Still alittle apprensive of the insane notion that my tummy marks wont be blasted out of the line of view by the show. This prep H stuff better work!!!!

S.V - I talked to mr. meanie. He told me we have come far enough yet to see what depletion manipulation I will use. "It all depends on what I look like on this Sat. I get it now. i.e. If holding water, sodium depletion, and so on........I hope I get what T got. Ground beef or Peanut Butterw/rice cakes. ummmm!

I survived no seasonings! HOORAY - if you all only knew, thats almost as huge as me giving up procrastination! Ha you cant tell me this isnt made for me!!!!

Yesterday was amazing. I havent been that exhausted in a very long time. No fighting from me or T. It was we were reading each other's mind.....Overtraining is out of the question at this point. Even worse he had already taught a class prior to doing all the things we did yesterday evening.
Things I must remember:
Posing has seperated the muscle.......as I have, read, been told, blah, blah. If you can learn anything from my journal, please remember it is foolish to re-invent the wheel here. Some of the old foundations are just tried and true.....all that to say I would have been more confident if I had started posing when originally plan, 4 weeks ago. My excuse was I couldnt see what muscle I was posing, so why do it. Trust me, that wasnt a real brilliant hypothesis!

The onset of overtraining feels sort of like the flu to me. Going to bed at 8:30 p was wise for me. Unforturnately, Ive been up since 2:30 because I feel totally rested. Something tells me Ill pay this evening for this. Also, by following up this am with yoga and pilates has relaxed me even more and has given me a more mellow tone this am....nice huh?

Someones glute is worthy of putting on stage....FINALLY! I actually could stomach it all and then some! Its pretty scary that its so close to the show. Ill be sure to note everychange in my w/o since it started looking bleek. If I remember increasing my weight and frequency on my DL's. Also, using the stiff and bent leg.

Today is high carb - again, its always a pleasure!

SO MUCH TO SAY! Ladies it was absolutely AMAZING! Now I know why this is sooooo addictive!
My actual show wasnt until the last day of the Expo - Sunday. So Friday and saturday I agonized as I watched the others beat it out in the advanced and Pro divisions. The best part about it being learning the various styles and training techniques of those all across the WORLD. So sunday at 6:30 the agony begins! All the nervousness I hadnt felt all through training suddenly comes in a thunder. To the point that I stop talking to those around me because my words were so tangled I couldnt complete a sentence without studdering. Me and T do a walk through of my rountine and a last over view of my mandatories and we head to the convention centre were we wait, wait, wait, wait, backstage(can you tell they ran alittle late ????) anywho...............long story short. It was just like I dream it to be! You name any word related to ELECTRIC ENERGY and that would describe it. But the truth ladies: MOST IMPORTANTLY - I met the most incredible people from all over the world(LITERALLY) You guys, my trophy is beautiful. Its crystal and just as cute as it could be, but it in know way compares to the conversations, the impromtu trainings by you peers and mentors, the warmth and companionship of other with like minds. Nothing can compare to this feeling! The more Im in the world the better it gets. Dont get me wrong, there were some who were not as warm, but by far the positve out weighed the negative.

Depletion:
h2o process:2 gals Thursday and Friday, Sat 1.2 gal before 10a
water balance tabs: 2 tab w/meal on thurs. 4 with each meal on Friday & Sat, and 2 with meals on sunday.

diet remained the same until Satuday. 1 day out:
Every 2 hours (last meal is 8p)
4oz hamburger, .5 grapefriut, 21tb peanut butter.
10pm: 1/2 of a cheese pizza(I didnt believe it either :>)
Sunday am: pizza slice or rice cake and nat. pb.

I think there were 11 of us 12 max. The open class was not divided by weight class, Im thinking due to the numbers. By the way: I registered at 124 - hit the stage a 114. Say: WHOA!

Pizza, sounds crazy doesnt it! The science behind it: complex carbs and fats fill you out longer and fuller than a quick sugar hit right before the show. When I seen my legs - IT ALL CAME TOGETHER. I finally seen those lines I had been dreaming about. Unfortunately, I dont think I ill ever be at peace with my hams, so I crushing them until they act right.

The aftermath: Initially started off a serloin w/ cajun chix pasta. Couldnt even get three bites down WAY TO HEAVY, change of plans desert station:
Banana Crepe w/ chocolate and carmel overlay, with a 1.2 scoop of cappucino biscotti ice cream(i think I spelled this right) ever so slightly adorned by a dab or whipped cream. SAY: ARE YOU HAPPY NOW! By the way, never finished the pasta.

The kids: well lets put it like this " Im the BOMB!" and you know what thats greater than any crystal trophy - to have your children believe in you!

Learned something from a new bb friend - who also lives in Houston(I swear they must breed you girls on sugar your so sweet!)

G.R.O.W. - God Rewards Our Work!(Ill be using this chant mostly on leg day!)
THANK YOU LORD - FOR YOUR GRACE AND YOUR MERCY

STILL NO PIX
sorry this is taking so long. I could probably focus better if I would stop watching the video, right?

Part 2
Now the journey to show 2 in less than 30 days. 07/16/05

2 days stats: Current weight:125, contest weight:114 bf%:11.7

objectives: 5 bf%, long term: increase strength, Mass driven activity, increase knowledge of diet and training for lean muscle mass:practice posing, initiate lower body plan, perfect symetry: increase Lat spread, practice posing to balance upper/lower. PRESENT HARDER!

Training: NO new wheels - however stronger concentration on compound, tension structured excersises. Decrease rep set to 12, increase all weights by 2.5 starting this week and continuing the increase weekly. Posing takes over lunch break.

cardio: DECREASE! Maintain addiction observation. This has got to stop. Walk 2.5 at higher intensity.

Diet: zero excuses on h20! Schedule 1st meal earlier if this includes waking at 4:30a, minimize seasonings earlier to taste adapt. Continue with Sunday prep day. Starting from phase two, then cut last 2 weeks.

WISDOM:
SLEEP: 33% of the compostion of a Disciplined athlete. 4 hours are ok office staff.
TANNING booth: leaves too much to be desired - get outside! Jan Tanna min 5 coats.
TRAINING: Form and intensity mean the most. AM training sucks for me. toooooo drainning. Becomes counter-active.No need for spliting training.
POSING:75% of the compostion of a show day, impossible to perfect without daily practice. It will be evident.
Routine: solid moves using transitions allowing legs to be fully displayed. Less jazz, more brick.

Sooooooo, tomorrow will be the official get your act together for the journal. Ive had 3 friends to introduce themselves to "how we do things" around here, and now Im not even posting - brilliant, huh!

Now that my nutrition consultant is gone - I’m literally lost! Naturally my body fat is restoring itself after my 1st ever BB show, but now I’m nervous about eating. I’m watching my self in the mirror so much, I’m getting sick of me! Someone please help teach me how to "do my own math" when it comes to regulating my diet. I.e. for Maintenance, Loss, or gain - there has to be a formula for such..........

Also posted in Nutrition.... I’m desperate!
Let me qualify this post:
Prior to my Contest Prep diet, I was undergoing losing weight from my 167 lb frame. Before that I have never really ate to maintain an athletes lifestyle.
Now that I’m a "STONE COLD TRAINIAC - I’m unsure of what to do to accommodate my new obsession without destruction of all my hard work. Sorry, I’m a die hard Cardio-maniac with just as much luv for weight training (the heavier the better)

My Weekend was out of the question to post. I ate like I liked food for the first time in a long time......yeah, I’m paying for it. I haven’t digested anything correctly in 3 days, :< booooooooooo I’m miserable - what a good problem to have. Not to correct it.......

Sat: shoulders 10 min cardio
Sun: chest 1hr cardio
Mon: Arms: sad, sad, sad (should’ve stayed at home)

Needless to say, I’m ready to go back to clean, but as you have read don’t really know where to start...

You know the whole wt. maintenance and diet issue is a lot of matter of experimentation and people's systems even react somewhat differently to food. What kind of macros are you shooting for 40/40/20???? I know that you know that maintaining the comp bf level isn't practical after the comp .. it is just a matter of coming to a level of contentment with feeling good and looking like you want!! I would give any diet 3 weeks and then examine the results and adjust as necessary!

angeleye

That is an awesome reccomendation!
The macro's are a ? for me. So in this 1st 3 weeks trial, Ill observe the usual 40/40/20 we are used . Are there studies on other ratio's that are effective?

Really starting to get a feel on this nutrition stuff. I re-worked my diet rotation yesterday according to our new spilt. I adjusted the ratios from HI/impact(higher carb), moderate(moder. carbs), and maintenance days(min carb). It feels good knowing that the investment into the knowledge base of nutrition is rewarding as the sweat on the floor.

Eat more! :) More carbs to fuel those workouts. Less cardio would be good, too. If you keep your eating clean, you can bet that you won't gain much fat and won't have to cut ridiculously for your next show. You don't need to lose any fat right now...just focus on eating clean and getting big.

Work set up the workout. Lets just say, Im starting to think IM NOT NOID - "she really does have it out for me!" But its cool though, out of site out of mind. All seems to be taking shape on the home front. All efforts to get the wheels the turning to new directions are in place, and all the weight is being relieved, slowly but surely. Some days are bumpy, and some smooth, but bottom line, He'll have to accept it. Actually on a special project so I was at a different station for a couple of days. Glad to be back - its weird sitting at someone elses desk :>
In addition finalizing everything on the divorce has made for all idle time to be spent wisely, from re-budgeting to schools, sooooooooo much to do!

Weird w/o week, schedule being moved around this weekend due to T.A. being out of town. We shifted everything up including cardio, needless to say.....one is very SPENT today. Back to back step circuit(which means alot of knee stress) Ill be spending Sat and Sun lightly. Im thinking a pinch of EFX on Sat but thats it in cardio. I still owe heavy leg, shldr, ab/glu. Dont know how to fit it all in but ITS GOING TO HAPPEN. No stats today, not feeling it, however, Im on point and excited about it. But so ya know

Nutrition and exercise is still my key focus, Ive fallen here and there. But for the most of it Ive maintained the drive to make it happen. Im looking foward to reading and catching up with the wild bunch, cant wait to see all or your lives in black and white. Im praying there is still an excursion going on because Im all set to roll. Im re-thinking this thing. I want to go with the standard meals, and wt plan but for some reason I still feel like Im missing the purpose of this thing - helping others and teaching myself what my body is truly capable of. Outside of my dieting for contest rules, there really seems to be only slight modifications that were made in this off season time. Im realizing that the E.D. that I thought I had been healed of only masked itself into other issues.

Blah, blah, blah Im going to read, maybe Ill be more inspired when Im done!

I was told I was too small for my show last June, and I personally felt I was holding too much body fat. I know this will be a direct contradiction for me becuz Im still having spurts of confusion with my E.D. Its not in full gear, Im just concerned with it rearing its ugly head from time to time as an option. I dont have a grip on how I should be eating right now, and Im pretty much just a few steps away from my initial diet (diet I) of contest prep. I know this is not benificial at all in bulking but after losing momentum just got to lazy to research the methods necessary. Need less to say ITS OVA' - Im ready to work.
