i just thought that i should post some informatioin that i just learned, that i think would be helpful for serious athletes who plan on getting an scholarship.
there are 417 division 1 a colleges throughout the US. each school only has 85 athletics scholarships to distrtibute per year. it is ia good idea to get an angent or representitive to get your name out to college scouts and coaches. here is an excellent webstie for more info.

Its probably a rip off.....If your good enough YOU WILL GET NOTICED and you dont need to waste your time or money on an agent. The only reason you might want to consider it is if you go to some **** hole school out in the country where about 100 kids attend your high school. If you want an athletic scholarship work your ass off and like I said u will get noticed....Dont rely on some idiot agent

i think you missed what i was trying to get at. you are right, if you are good then you will get scouted. however, when everyone around you is being schouted to division 2 or 3 schools simply beacuse of the school's population or possibly because of political reasons then it is good to have an egde over everyone else.
also the ony reason that i have used a representitive is because scout are not permitted to "scout" you until you are in high school. last year i had a phenominal track, soccer, and football season and i wanted scout sto be aware of that BEFORE i got to high school. but yeah the only reason i did well is b/c i worked my ass off and stayed focused.
peace

Agents are a scam for anyone who isn't a professional athlete. If you're good enough to get a scholarship in the first place, you'll either 1.) get noticed before hand, or 2.) be able to walk on, and THEN get a scholarship.

i got offered most of my scholorships by
1) being blind drunk and smoking after a major sports meet and having the head coach of a fairly well known College approach me and offer me a full Athletic Scholorship
2) filling in a recruiment form on a few college websites
3) word of mouth
4) results

The rep of your school doesn't matter...If you can play believe me, they will find you...In my case, I came to the U.S at 16 years old, and went to a school that had a soccer team but no basketball team.I started playing at various courts in my area, and was approached by an AAU basketball coach. I played two years on that team and as a result, was recruited not for soccer, but for basketball( I opted for a school that allowed me to play both)...Lesson is: IF you can PLAY, they will find you.
