Please dispose of syringes safely!
I've posted the info before, but it has been requested to combine it.
Since not all of us have a place we can go to dispose of pinz safely, here is an easy, secure way to do this yourself. It only cost a couple of bucks to complete, and the majority of the stuff should be readily available.
You need:
1. A heavy plastic container, bleach bottle, protein tub, etc.. with a good screw top lid. I chose a protein tub.
2. Plaster of paris, foam sealant, or some other type of quick dry filling. I chose expanding foam, $2.50 at the store.
3. A tube of super glue
First picture is the tub full of syringes from the last 6-8 months of therapeutic shots
Secondly picture is the tub topped of with expanding foam sealant:
Why? It will stop everyone but the terminally stupid from popping open the container and digging any out if they are all glued together. Plus, no rattling sounds.
Third picture is the tub, full of sealant, with the lid superglued on:
Why, now only the terminally stupid AND desperate will get at this as they would have to saw it open.
In conclusion
As responsible adults who need to use syringes for any number of things, it is OUR responsibility to dispose of these safely so they don't wind up in the hands of kids, or worse, some of the idiots who have posted stupid threads here. You know, people who wouldn't know NOT to play with these things.
I mean come on folks, it's only $2-3 for the sealant and everybody’s got a container, most have some super glue. You only need to do this every few cycles depending on the number of shots.
So cough up the extra couple of bucks and immobilize these things so the innocent, ignorant, or just plain stupid are protected from themselves.
Thanks
