Does anyone else seem to get very inaccurate readings with these also?

I always check my pulse manually when I'm doing cardio, but I will use the heart rate monitors on equipment if they're conveniently placed. I keep noticing that many of the heart rate monitors on the various stationary bikes seem to be 10+ beats lower than normal (e.g. I'm at 162 bpm and it says 152 or less).

I kind of figured that was the case. I have a recubent bike with grip pulse meters that seem low. I just ordered a decent HRM with chest strap that I am going to compare to it.

Yeah I feel like the ones that you put on your wrist, chest, etc. are probably pretty accurate but I just used another bike about half an hour ago and it was saying like 150+ bpm when I was easily above 180 bpm.

Does anyone know if this is a common problem?
