Exactly what I found in research. I completely agree. Of course this is good for bulking.

Don't give advice if you don't know what you're talking about. What if this guy weighs as much as yourself (145 lbs or so)? Can you BACK UP your claim that such an individual needs 500 grams of protein while bulking?

4) If bodybuilding is your goal, aim for AROUND 2g per lb daily.

I get around 200-250. That seems to be enough for me to make gains. If I take more, I get the worst gas imaginable and I know my body's not using it. About 100g comprises pre and post-workout protein, also.

Try getting more of your protein from SOLID FOODS.

you guys probably know your stuff but
according to you guys i need approx 360 grams per day (i'm 180lbs) x2 grams per lb

but in my research:
*not allowed to share link as i dont have 50 posts but just paste this in your browser:
"exercise.about.com/cs/nutrition/a/protein_2.htm"

Example for my weight: 176 lb male who is a regular exerciser and lifts weights
80kg x 1.8 (1.8=intense weight or endurance training) = 144 gm protein/day

huge difference between 144 and 360

the bit that threw me and made me register here was:

If you're an exerciser, however, your protein needs may increase since resistance training and endurance workouts can rapidly break down muscle protein. A position statement published by the ADA, DOC and ACSM recommends that endurance and strength-trained athletes have between 1.2 and 1.7 g/kg (0.5 - 0.8 grams per pound) of protein for the best performance and health.

What if you're trying to build more muscle? Shouldn't you eat even more protein? Not necessarily. There's evidence that bodybuilders, much like exercisers or athletes, do require more protein but that any more than double the RDA won't necessarily help you build more muscle. In one study, experts studied three groups of weight lifters: A low protein group (0.86 g/kg), a moderate protein group (1.40 g/kg) and a high protein group (2.40 g/kg) and found that, "There were no effects of varying protein intake on indexes of lean body mass."

In essence, the more you exercise, the greater your protein needs will be. However, taking it too far, for example more than doubling your protein intake, won't necessarily help you build more muscle

Use a higher number (between 1 and 1.8) if you are involved in consistent and intense weight or endurance training.

Example: 154 lb male who is a regular exerciser and lifts weights
154 lbs/2.2 = 70kg
70kg x 1.5 = 105 gm protein/day
(written by Paige Waehner a certified personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise)

and the guy that says he can get 400+ grams of protein per day for $4 per day? what planet is that on?
£4 of protein in food (as im told by another guy to "get more of your protein from SOLID FOODS"
gives me about 60 grams of protein! on earth that is!!!!
