Just wanted to share my experience with you.... I had been training pretty hard and consistently for about 5 months. The last 3 weeks of that was hard out twice a day at the gym kinda stuff in prep for a photo shoot. After the shoot I decided it was time to take a week off.

I must admit after being so rigid for 5 months I was a little worried about how my body would react but I knew I needed rest. I did lots of yoga and didn't log onto fitday once ;)

After getting back into it this week I feel better then ever. My week off had nothing but a positive outcome.

Moral of the story, if you need it, don't be afraid to do it!

SO TRUE! I took a week off, and I saw muscles showing up that I didn't see when I was training constantly! It's definately good to rest and allow your body to have a break! Listen to the body!!

i agree completely. In fact I had to take off about 6weeks due to an overseas holiday and then a back problem, i managed to maintain my weight during this time just eating sensibly and even with no exercise I didnt appear to lose any muscle weight (judging from mirror and clothes). Back into it now with renewed enthusiasm and energy!

Ideally, I take off a week or at least 5 days every 6-8 weeks. I have always benefitted from it! Plus, the laundry gets done! LOL
