What are your thoughts on guggulsterone supplementation? I'm taking it as I think I need a thyroid boost, but I've heard the effective dose is something like 300 mg/day, and my little ol pills are only 30 mg each! I'd be popping those things hourly! Right now I take two (60 mg) with my Xen twice a day. Also, will taking Methoxy Factor (a prohormone, right?) downregulate my natural estrogen production?

Appreciate any insights. Had a great night at the gym last night...making some big gains in mass and strength, but man the BF just doesn't want to budge! Should I just forget about it right now and just work on gaining size and worry about the diet later?

Just to give you a little more info, here's my current training sched:

MONDAY - legs (squats, leg press, a variety of lunges, good mornings, extensions, ham curls, calf work on leg press, standing calf raises) shoulders (dumbbell press, arnold press, upright row, rear delt machine, reverse flyes) and ab work

TUESDAY - chest (bench press, flat dumbbell press, incline dumbbell press, incline flyes, cable flyes, pec dec) and back (wide grip pulldowns, narrow reverse grip pulldowns, straight arm pulldowns to front, dumbbell row, extensions)

WEDNESDAY - bis (21's on preacher bench, seated alternating dumbbell curl, cable hammer curl, concentration curl) and tris (overhead tri extension, skullcrushers, narrow grip bench press, split rope extensions)

THURSDAY -- legs again (supramax. intensity) and ab work

By the way, I do not do ALL of these exercises in each session...I mix them up for maximum benefit. I try to do about four exercises per body part, 3-4 sets of 12-10-8-6 descending reps. Except for legs, which I do a few more exercises on (lunges galore), just to blast them good as they are my favorite!

High intensity cardio (post-workout) on the elliptical machine two to three times a week. Eating everything in sight (but trying to keep it clean, of course.)

Supplementing: Xenadrine, guggulsterone, flax seed oil (good stuff!) Methoxy-Factor, glutamine

Okay, your thoughts????? Lemme have it!

Guggulsterones are so not worth it. I've tried them and saw no added benefit in using them, and I mean, not the slightest. There are quite some effective cutting supplements out there however and coincidentally syntrax does make two of the best ones, despite an obvious flaw with guggul. But you can't win them all.

Try stacking 2 caps of Adipokinetix and 2 caps of MM4, 3 times a day and see what gives. You won't be dissapointed. I like the simple formulation of adipo : caffeine as a diuretic, norephedrine to raise norepinephrine (cathecholamine, fat-burning hormone) and the yohimbine blocks the negative feedback thereof in the adipose cells. That's how easy it can be. i'm currently also stacking that with Lipoderm-Y by avantlabs, which uses yohimbine to target specific fat mass in waist and legs so the blocking effect occur target specific. Spot reduction if you will. Mind you, the success of yohimbine, spot reduction or overall compound is based solely on the implementation of a low-calorie diet.

As for methoxy, its not a prohormone. In my eyes it shouldn't even be a supplement. Its known as an anabolic flavone, derived from cruciferous vegetables. But there is no viable evidence to support its working. All studies were done prior to 1984 on animals, by the manufacturing company (Chinoin) in the country of origin (Hungary) and after a patent was already applied for. In fact all information about it right now is based on a 1977 patent application. Since then the feedback on methoxy has been dissapointing to say the least. No results forthcoming in other words. In a recent article in MD, flavones were also implicated as being hazardous to health and gains. so frankly its not something I recommend you ingest. Its total crap.

I was wondering...I can't take ephedra or ma huang because I get the jitters so badly, and being a body piercer, that so isn't cool (imagine my coming at you with a 14g needle right toyour gut with my hands shaking!!!). Does Adipo have the same results? I also just got some Liopderm-Y and wanted to try an oral supplement with it. What's the verdict?

Thanks!

Adipo - hard to say. I get no jitters or sleeplessness from it. Felt a bit energized the first day, but that wore off. Of course I'm at 240 pounds right now, so its hard to say what the noreph will do in relation to bodyweight. Either way it'll be a lot easier on the CNS than ephedra.

Lipoderm - I'm literally shocked. I've always been skeptical of spot reduction, even now that i'm experiencing it I'm not quite sure I believe it. Keep in mind that I had been dieting two weeks prior and that my diet is pretty low-cal right now, but I made more visible reductions in the waist area in a week than I normally do in a months. I'm applying it to my arms right now, below the shoulder and at the chest, next to the shoulder. I have big shoulders and I never had cuts in those places. Now Par told me i'd have to stay strict with calories as not all areas respond as well as the waist and legs do. Either way, i'm hooked.
