Okay, I'm about 5'3 and weight like 111 lbs...which seems pretty good well to me anyway. I'm happy with my body and have been training (weightlifting/cardio) for the past 7 or 8 months, but I can't seem to get rid of the excess fat from outer thighs, and my butt seems to be going no where. I'm really confused about this because I thought that I was doing everything right with my diet and exercise. And if anyone has any advice at all as to what I should try or maybe even change, help me out...please!!!

Thanks*

Well, it would help if you listed your current routine and an example of your diet. Without that it's hard to say where or what to change.
First of all you are at a healthy weight and as fas as shape...unfortunatly especially us women are blessed or better cursed with genetics...A) we tend to store fat in the thighs and hips and B) there is not much you can do about your overall frame.
You CAN firm up your legs however...you just have to work hard at it. Lunges, deadlifts, squats and legcurls are all great exercises to firm and tone your behind.

What type of lunges are best?

I like dumbell lunges. Stand feet together and holding a weight in each hand ( start out light ). Step forward with your right leg, until your left knee almost touchies the ground. make sure your knee ( of the stepping leg ) doesn''t travel over your toes. Squeeze your glutes and keep your upper body straight while tightening the abs. Then step back to starting position and alternate legs.
You can also do a number of reps on one leg and then switch. or do walking lunges. As long as you use strict form any lunge is effective.
I often let clinets start out without any weights ( keep hands at hips ) or use the smith machine..just to get a feeling for balance.
