ya we got something like this but its just that we cant use a ball until the first week of june and we cant use pads until like first week of august. but theres no regulations in any state on the other things we do. from january on, we run, lift, film and do drills, etc. we just can use a football.
i dont understand how you can have your first day of practice like 2-3 weeks before the 1st game, thats just not enough time. thats why starting january, we practice, we run, we lift, do drill, run routes, etc so then when june 1st comes when we can use the ball, we are already ready for that and then once we get into august and can use full pads, we are ready for that

We aren't allowed to have a real practice until the 6th(we did have a team camp that was pretty much practice, no pads). We did an hour of practice right before 7 on 7 for a month every thursday, and we do 20 minutes of technique work after an hour of lifting and 30 minutes of agility/speed work 4 days a week, though I don't call this practice because we've done the same thing ever since football ended.

we can lift as a team but cant really go over plays or anything captains practices arent allowed but i'm pretty sure most teams break that rule.. and we dont got a true state champ just like 6 different super bowls and thats why many pro's dont come out of mass

ya yours is similar its just we do a lot more, we do everything you would do in a normal reg season practice, except we dont have the balls (until june) and we dont have pads(until august) lol and ya all this stuff is real practice, the ball or pads have nothing to do with making you better or getting prepared, there are many others things you do to get better, you can run routes, learn and run plays, do drills, lift weights, run, watch film, all of that is practice, if it wasnt and if it was pointless then they wouldnt be doing it, those things are what makes your season.

why are you nervous, you guys have been practicing and working out for months now, right? atleast thats how it is over hear, so all your nervousness should be long gone and your body, both physically and mentally should be more than ready once full pads and 2-3 a days begin. its not like your going from doing nothin, sitting at home, doing nothing with the team and then straight into full pads 3 a days.

Yeah but its going to be a week of hell, its not going to be like regular practice, its going to be to break us. Isnt that what camp is for, to break the indivdual and form the team?
That means no matter how loud we get, it isnt loud enough. How good we do, its not good enough. But youre right im probably over exagerating it.

LOL NO LOL thats not how it works out here, this aint pop warner, this ain freshman or jv football, this is varsity football. all of that childish stuff is long gone, they dont need to whip our asses to find people, we found ourselves and coaches found the players long long time ago. like i said, this is varsity ball, all of that stupid pop warner stuff is gone. it is time to practice, not to put kids through hitting drills so the coaches can get hard ons, lol thats all pop warner, freshman and jv ball. varisty is the real stuff, we practice for real.
when i was varsity ball, i played wr, all we did was run routes, wr drills and practice plays, they didnt need to put us through any tackling drills or anything. thats what they do to you in pop warner, freshman and jv ball, because kids at those levels intellectually are capable and dont understand practicing plays, either it be 1 on 1, 7 on 7 or team is what makes the team, not tackling drills, not coaches blowing the whistles and you hitting the ground. **** like that reminds me of boner craving pop warner coaches.
we had two a days, the first part we would do drills, real drills, drills that will make you a better play. and yes if you were a lb, there would be some hitting drills, but it wouldnt be full on, more tecnique than anything. but i was a wr, the only time we tackled or got tackles was during team. and so for me, the 1st part of two a days we would do drill, practice routes with our wr coach, do 1 on 1's, 3 on 3, 7 on 7 and then team. and then the second part we would do the same thing over again.
and another funny part, and people think that this is what football is about but, i remember when i was a freshman and a sophmore, all we did at practice is run run run, each and every day after practice we would have like 30-60mins of conditioning. again the coaches got a joy out of it but that has nothing to do with football. and when i was on varsity, our coaches knew what they were doing, so we prob did 5-10 mins of condition like twice a week and during the season we didnt really do any actual put aside condition. our condition came from running routes, 1 on 1's, 7 on 7's and team. and also position drills.
thats football, practice makes you better and thats what we did. we all knew how to hit, we were all already in shape since we began in january. so all we really did was team team and team and when we were broke off in our positions, we did position specific drills. oh and we were one of the top d-1 teams in california, we dominated our d-1 league every year, 6-8 d-1 schollies a year, our entire coaching came from d-1 and d-1aa college teams.

it has nothing to do where i am or where im from, i was comparing pop warner/freshman/jv ball to varsity ball.
when i look at the way we practice, from when i played and still to this day, it reminds me of many d-1 college practices (ive been to several big time d-1 practices) and then i hear how your guys practices are or your guys offseason is and it sounds like they do the same stull you would do in pop warner, freshman and jv.

I remember those days. We used to have 2-a-days during the first week of school. Went from 6-7:30, and school all day, then 4-8. Horrible.

so, just got back from practice....
(we went helmets--gotta do that for 3 days) and schools in my area are allowed to start practicing on the 6th (today)
so it went like this....
2-4:45
then
5:20-7:40
and b4 practice coach goes "I can garuntee you, that practice will never start b4 2, or end after 7....."
we got done at 7:40 lol
conditioning sucked.....
(though we have been running and lifting these past few months)

First day of practice today. We had a minicamp from 8-1 four days two weeks ago, and now we go from 8-1 for 2 or 3 weeks, then we have our first scrimmage. We should kick some ass hopefully, got an all new coaching staff, most of them are pretty cool. Should be an exciting season.

Yeah! First day of training camp started today. It feels so good when people comment on how bigger or stronger you have gotten and you know this because you worked your ass off during the offseason. Its gonna be a great year.
