Alone and by yourself a mini van is, odd, and a bit uncomfortable.
But when packed with friends going out on the town...( like I did for a bachelorette party) What Fun!

Mommy- It's a 2004 convertible- I knew I wasn't getting that one....I dad barely drives it, but come on the MINIVAN! geez
Buffy- Too bad I don't get a chance to go out...haha I will be driving this beast to Pitts for my show though. Lets see how many people I can pack in there! haha :D

I truely must have done something awful in a past life...this can be the ONLY reason for such ****ty luck!!! So I wake up, our basement is leaking water....oh and it's not just regular water, SEWER water! :( I am not at work b/c I am waiting for some guy to come fix it and it has been a good 2 hours....dear god! Then I get bored waiting and I start doing my nails and I notice my nail is kinda green under one of my fake nails! Oh yea- I have a nail fungus now! wtf!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! So I look it up and it says your nail can fall off! Sigh.....anyone know what to do or had this happen before?!
Anyways, I'll stop bitching for one minute...
am cardio:
15 min routine(the one I posted with mountain climbers and blurpees....). I think I'll do my hip w/o now since I have a band and I have a feeling this dude is never going to get here.....
Posing yesterday was great- I finally got over the hump of being so harsh on myself and chose a few new poses I liked for when I am in line. My abs are leaning out incredible- I am so excited, almost makes me forget my apartment smells like **** and my nail is GREEN!! haha

Well golly girl, you got it all didn't ya? Sorry to hear about the mini-van...I swore I'd never drive one either! Sorry to hear about that...and the leak...just what you needed, huh? Man, happy monday, huh? But that's good about the posing and your abs...good encouragement...and as far as your nail...I think there's a topical something you can buy at the store...and do you wear fake nails now? If so definately keep them off of that nail at least and let it get some air. I hope the guy gets there soon....sorry to hear about your crazy morning!!!

Sorry to hear about your issues, SV. Obviously, things will get better!
I've had fungus before and vowed to never get those things on my nails again. You'll have to remove that one and allow it to breath. I never used any type of special fungicide, I just made sure that I kept my hands very clean. Make sure they clean their tools very well, bring your own if you can. Also, check your nails to see how they grow. If they are not perfectly straight and the artificial nail does not attach perfectly with your natural nails, your nail will seperate form the acrylic and allow water to get underneath allowing fungus to grow.

Wow Dawn and I thought I was having a rough morning. Sorry to hear about all that stuff going on. My sister is a nail tech and I can find out what you can do about a nail fungus and let you know what you can do. I wish I had some more words of encouragement, but I don't so I'll just pray that you have a better day!! I will let you know when I find out from my sister.

I don't want to scare you, but when I had gel nails put on for my wedding, the girl who did them told me one of her clients gets them all the time, and one time she got a fungus (she didn't let her nails breath between sets). Her nail fell off and it NEVER grew back. If it's badly enough infected, this can happen! I'm sure you caught it in time, but ensure you get medication asap.

Mj- I Read That Too- I Read This Article You Can Put Monistat On It And Other Creams. Monistat Is On It Now! The Thing Is It Isn't On My Nail It's Under It. It's Small, But Dude If My Nail Falls Off I'll Be Soooooo Mad. I Love Having My Nails Done B/c I Bite Them And Actually Only Do It For Shows B/c It Can Get Costly. I Took The Fake Nail Off That One And I Am Not Getting My Nails Done Again!!!! After My Show I Will Be Peeling These Suckers Off!
Oh And They Got The **** Out Of My Basement-quite Literally! Haha......:d

Have the acrylic taken off. You can also get a fungus if it lifts a little and you get water underneath. If you caught it early enough you might be able to buff it away, then put some nail funcus medicine on it. I don't think it will fall off unless you leave a fungus untreated under the acrylic. I used to get my nails done every 2 weeks for years and once had a fungus that I caught asap, so my girl just buffed it off. Just let it breath with nothing on it except medicine for as long as you can.

I love the look of artificial nails (gels especially), but found that they just didn't last long enough, and once I had them removed, my real nails were like tissue paper! It was awful. It literally took months to get my nails back into shape, and they still are suffering a little. They used to be really long and strong naturally, but now I find they are still breaking easily... I'm also supplementing gelatine into my diet to try to strengthen them.
Anyway, started babbling there, so I'm going to wish you luck w/ the nails and sign off!

If it is under your real nail rather than between the fake nail (or coating) and your real nail, you definately need a medicine that is specifically for nail fungus. Try going to your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for a good one. Unfortunately, depending on how bad the fungus is under your real nail, you might need a prescription that can take some time to take effect and grow out. Sorry!

4x10 b1 weighted crunches on the exercise ball(weight in front)
4x10 b2 full body crunches passing exercise ball from hands to feet
4x20 secs(make sense?? I held this position for 20 seconds) holding a post with my hands and having my butt on an exercise ball and my legs straight out- omg the pain!!!! Anyone know the name of this???

4/26/05 am cardio- 20 min walk- I had NO energy to even jog this morning....ugh!
I almost forgot, sunday was my last day on creatine and sat I uped my water back to 2 gallons....I weighed myslef....I'm shrinking again- 95lbs! whoa!!! I might blow away in the freakin wind! I wish I would just stay the same weight and lean out- grrrrrrrrrrr! I hate weighing under 100 lbs!

Just a question on the 40 yard sprints...I don't have a field around my house at all so if I was to do the sprints on the sidewalk, would that be about a block or 2 blocks...i like to run outside, but I just need to know how far the distance is...thanks :)

I actually do them behind my apartment where we park our cars- there are 2 sets of townhouses and it is a little longer than a 40 yard. Can you imgaine the 100 meter?? 1 Yard = 0.914 Meters so it's like 36.56 meters....I just imgaine half of a 100 meter (the straight way on a track) and kinda shortan that a bit- I actually probably do 50 yards sometimes. Does this make any sesne haha! :D

V- 95 lbs - don't think I'm lucky- I'm not!! I don't want to weight under 100!!! I want to be able to be like 110 lbs and lean.....after this show I will focus on that! :D

MJ- Np, I was on creatine until sunday- taking the aakg(serving when I wake up and 1 hr b4 I lift), gugglic bolic(3x), 1 nrg when I wake up, l-glutamine w/ a meal b4 and after w/os, fishoils 1000mg(3x- make sure one is b4 my w/o), a multi vit, calcium, chromium, glucosamine(x2 msm w/chon) and zma b4 I go to sleep. haha Oh yea and 1 tbsp of fiber daily! :D That enough for ya!? hah

Yea expensive!!! After this show I will be trying toto go low on the supplements- creatine, aakg, calcium(gotta keep my bones strong), multi, glucosaime, glutamine, and fish oils. Thermo only when I need it for cutting. I can't afford this crap! haha

I even find it expensive, and I'm lucky enough to get a great discount from a friend of mine. Don't know how I'd afford it if I didn't. Have you thought about trying to get sponsors? You have won trophies, and are very determined, so I think you should look into it!!

MJ- Yea Jay said the same thing...I just have a hard time asking people for money to sponsor me. haha It's like they really aren't getting anything from it, but I just may. Even 2 shows a year got me broke....quite sad! I am having some pictures taken of myself so I might send them off to a few companies....we will see.

That's seriously a great idea. You really have to sell yourself, and find out a bit about the company before approaching them. Find out if they do promo shows at which you could appear for them? Show them how active and successful you are, and that they should be proud to have their company announced as a sponser when you stride onto the stage. Ask other girls what they did to get sponsors, and I think it can be beneficial to both you and the company. For example, you give advice to tons of women on this forum, and instead of generically saying what type of sups you use, you can list the company and that you get results with them!
Anyway, Jay is right, and you should definitely get your name out there!

So to go along with Powells2 about missing our little friends this month.....always happens at the worst possible time and in the worst possible place. (I feel for you too girl!!) I wake up this morning at Joes place and he lives with his brother - of course they have nothing feminie at all! :( So I have to run home(I would have anyways hee hee) and try to figure out why my little friend decided to visit sssssssssooo late! I ask my roomie b/c she is on the pill and I follow her b/c I am not- she doesn't tell me until now that she just skipped her friend on purpose last month and continued her pills to push it back!!!!! wtf- she heard me freaking about not getting it and wondering and she never mentioned this?! She knew this could have been terribly bad.....my show is in 9 days! She is lucky I got in now and not in a few days------ grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Haha Okay vent over......now I need to get back to working with my crackhead clients.....

I thought I'd give you one of my mom's crackhead stories, for laughs. :D She works with LOTS of them on a daily basis. Delores is a crackhead...5'5'', ~ 100 lbs of skin and bones...and you know how rough fiends look. Anyway, this is Delores the Crackhead antic #2942:
Mom: Good afternoon, Delores. How are you doing?
Delores: I'm not. I just got out of jail. Now leave me alone and give me my money. I don't want no sh!t, I just want my money.
Obviously, my mom was in awe because this was in front of a whole office full of people.

SV, I had to laugh the other day when you were talking about the crackhead bodybuilder, and said "how many crackheads do you know that are bodybuilders?" and I thought to myself..."I don't know any crackheads, let alone those that are bodybuilders...:)"
Anyway, another day in the drama...don't know how you do it somedays. You should write a book. Really. What a bestseller that would be.
I agree with the other girls about getting your name out there....and your face. You go girl...get it. Your hard work and determination deserves every second of recognition that you will receive!! :)

I probably could write a book of all the crazy crap that happens to me, but I doubt anyone would buy it?! It would be pretty depressing....although it could be a pick me up. "If you think you have bad luck read this book and you will agree your luck is nothin compared to this....haha!"
AE- I just take 1 500mg tablet daily. (btw I was drinking water when I read that- haha).
WB- Yea that is how 95% of people I work with are!! Brings back memories of....hmm yesterday!! haha
I'm thinking.....your money?? Excuse me this is NOT yours - it's my tax payer money that you are going to go spend on crack(obviously not all my clients use crack)! I have NEVER thought I was OWED something, but a lot of people are raised different and think they deserve it.....people(rolling eyes). I guess we can be glad we are NOT in that category right?!

Oh, I forgot to tell you...she's got 8 kids. Poor kiddies. 8 kids, but has been pregnant 13 times. My mom and I laugh at her antics, but it really isn't funny. She's created a *#@&'d up life for all of those babies.

I feel so sorry for the kids...and what frustrates me the most about stuff like that is that there are SO MANY people who cannot have kids and want them so bad, and then there are people that have them and keep having them, but don't even care. SO FRUSTRATING to me!!!

Needless to say, I got certified in "restraint" year ago!! You honestly, would not believe the lives these people lead!!! They are so used to using their ovens for crack cocaine they don't get the whole "bake a cake" thing at all!! Worst ever, was when I got an adorable three year old in my house .. he told me he was thirsty so I handed him a cup. He proceeded to fill it up in the toilet and drink it. It was the only way he know how to get water. He came because of a "dirty house" and was only suppose to be with me for three weeks. The parents wouldn't clean their house to get him back .. I had him for three YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is so sad - You are such a blessing to these kids! I can't imagine having to send the little boy back to that house... I'd want to run away with him! That's awful. But it's so beautiful to hear you say that they touch your life equally as much. :) You are a strong woman to be able to witness these situations and help on a daily basis. You girls have tough jobs!

Okay, just one more sad story in the hopes of recruiting some of you to be foster parents, big sisters, or adoptive parents .. seeing as SV doesn't mind!! :) I once got this boy at 12, whose mother had fled the state of AZ, he had been chained to a dog house for TWO YEARS by his mother's boyfriend. They lived out in the desert. He is in his mid twenties now, and is always 'my special kid' but the damage that was done to him can never be reversed! It is just good to have you all know about these kids because they so often get lost in society and sometimes I just like to VENT!! Good luck with that mom SV!! My prayers are with you!

Your truely amazing... Dealing with all those things Is tough I know! I worked at DHR for only 28 hours (for a class assignment) and in that time I learned WAY more than any class could have even taught me.. you don't really understand just how crazy the world is until you see it from that perspective! I give anyone working in those types of situations SOOO much respect! That has got to be the most difficult, yet rewarding job in the world.

After being attacked by a young lady, while my co-staff watched, who had been in homes off and on since she was 3, I decided to take another career path. (Staff said "they didnt want to be hurt too") I had a bald spot in my crown for over 3 years. Needless to say restraint training went out the window. I fought back :<

AE- my friend worked in a home w/ boys and girls...she said she had to restrain WAY 2 many kids so she had to leave.
L- I am no gaining I am trying to save the muscle I do have while leaning out. I have been seeing progress I have a 4 pack! I am pissed though- my little friend will mess up my bf testing tomorrow! Scary thought, what if my consultant has an emergency and cant see me anymore before the show - I need to c.m.a. at all cost! I know there are some checklist articles here, but which one to choose is the tricky part.

I freak out the last week ALWAYS!! So far I have used the same water depletion- 1st show I did a small sodium load last time I did not. This past show I did not shed enough water so I am trying something new. What I have done is 2 gallons(8 liters) of water daily, wed- 4 lits, thurs 2 lits finsih by 6pm, fri 1/2 lit (sipping all day long), sat enough to swallow supplements(comp day). Everyone is so different as far as water shed goes. I know I hold a lot of water in general. There are so many diffrent factors and so many different ways to do it. Some people have no carbs the week before, some carb load, some cell volumize......you can see the confusion. What is your plan of attack?
Oh btw, if he has an emergency I can help ya! ;)

Hey Dawn,
a quick question... if anyone else wants to chime in with an opinion/answer, always appreciated.
When cutting and adding a day of cardio...What do you think of, for example, if it was my shoulder day, and I would do one set of shoulders, and then jump rope, or do some form of cardio standing in place, during the weight lifting recovery. After jumping for a minute or two, do the second set and then alternate with jumping again, and continue until I am done with all my sets? Do you think it would count as a cardio? Is it bad to do because maybe I should actually take those two minutes to "recover"? Will it inhibit me from lifting my max? Just something I thought about this morning while I was doing my weight training workout!!!

I don't think a few minutes is enough time to get your heart rate up to actually make a difference. I think you are better off using that time to rest in between sets. Really at this point I would think you are taking the least amount of time possible between sets, so that really wouldn't even be a few minutes.

Karla- hmmm You could do supersets with mountain climbers or blurpees, but then you will not get the best out of your lifting. I do that now, but I am looking to REALL REALLY lean down fast. I guess what is most important to you; the strength you have lifting or the cardio aspect?? I would say you probably should just do the cardio after lifting. You can always test it out.

As you can see egg whites are no longer in my diet. I got some info on how the high amounts of sodium in egg whites can cause you to hold water....since I am super sodium sensitive I cut them out to see if that is why I was holding water for my last show. I can't even cheat or have carbs on my 24th birthday! :( sniff sniff.....oh well, just have to celebrate HARD after the show in P.A....watch out P.A. okay new water depletion for this show: mon 2 gallons, tues 1 gallon, wed 3/4 gallon of water b4 8pm(200 mgs of b6, 100 mgs of potassium and 1000mgs of dandelion root at noon, 6pm, and b4 bed), thurs 1/2 gallon b4 3pm(after this only 4oz of water at a time- 200 mgs b6, 100 mgs of potassium, and 1500mgs of dandelion root at 6pm), fri - 1st meal w/ 8 oz water- 2nd meal w/ 4 oz water - 3rd meal w/ 4 oz water ***all 3 meals b4 1pm*** sip on water if I am thirsty and take b6, potassium and dandelion root in the am.....saturday same as friday depending on how I look.

mommy- I take my glut everyday...always w/ a meal and if it's an off day I usually have a serving with my first meal then 5-8 hrs later the next. :) It can upset your stomach so it's easier to just take it w/ a meal. Sweet- so you can bail me out too?! ;) yea! If I had the money I would get a massage once a month....they are supposed to be great for you- almost like a full body w/o. I think I'll use my massage for the week after my show so I can relax for a minute!!
mg- If you plan on still doing cardio- do the am instead of the pm. You burn 200% more in the am on an empty stomach. :) Basically you will get more for your efforts if you do it in the am.

Really, the time of day makes a difference? Also, are you supposed to do cardio on empty or eat something before. I have heard so many contradictions to this...blah.

I forgot am cardio today- 15 min run. Staying at Joes palce has really worked out to be great for my am cardio sessions. haha
I stopped taking glucosamine Monday for water loss purposes and obviously I am doing a little sodium load w/ my tuna intake. Tryin to mix it up a bit to see what gives me the best results. Besides that my little monthy visitor is refusing to leave! This is the longest EVER and totally unlike me!!!! Hopefully this does nto cause me to bloat for my show- or else! haha

My sport is different than getting ready for a show as I am still trying to drop body fat now and when the tapering comes for race I will carb load to get the endurance. But I am still far enough from racing that I need to get to a lighter weight as it will facilitate the activities (I think it is something like 5 sec improve running time for every lb of fat loss). So that was my curious question as to the eating b/f the cardio and if am/pm made a difference.
Oh, and be careful not to get cramps from the low sodium. I just finished an article explaining that it is lack of sodium, not potassium, that causes cramping. Wouldn't want you to get up on stage and flex all those muscles only to get a charly horse! :)

For example if I had to decide between running for 45 mins in the pm or 10 mins of sprints in the am - I go am b/c I am approx burning the same cals doing less work(I have no idea if it's the same cals-just an example)! Did I mention I hate cardio? haha
Jaci- My brain is still off track w/ no carbing it for 2 days- I forgot to take my vits and thermo this morning so I am kinda crashing mid day now. I can't wait to eat my yam and chicken b4 my w/o!!! I am frustrated w/ not knowing my bf- tomorrow morning I'll be at the gym for my ligth cardio session and I think I will check it with the hand held tester to see what it says....this leads me to the pics. I think tonight or tomorrow night I will be taking a few. I have so many things to do in such a short period of time....glue some gems on my 2 piece bottoms, do my own nails b/c I do NOT want fungus again, cook meals and pack them, apply self tanner........thank god I am a last minute type of person! :D I'm feeling very confident about my abs finally so tonight(my last lifting session) I am wearing a half shirt to lift!! hee hee :D I figure ****....I worked so hard for the damn things gotta show them off somewhere....and we all know Ohio is cold so I can't go outside like this?! haha
20 weeks of dieting and a 6 pack appears.....3 days of cheating and then bulking and they are gone! Who made these damn rules huh?!

HELP HELP HELP**** Okay first of all- I NEED some information on DREAM TAN ASAP! (If you have used/know someone who has/read an article...) My 1st show- I used 2 coats and this past show I used 2 pro-tan w/ 1 coat of dream over it.....yesterday my friend informed me that in many articles it states not to use it b/c it's more of a lotion and it takes away from your lines....it does come off a little on my suits and I'm not positive on the lines though....so I investigate and check out my pictures from the show and 4 days out.....in my back pose you cannot see my muscles as well w/ my tan on. Now I may just be freaking out, BUT any information would be appreicated. I might just do 3 coats of pro tan instead. Thanks!
Last cardio session until show (am cardio): 20 mins on the bike!! Yea I'm done!! haha Checked my bf with the digital hand held- I know it's not as good, but it put me at 11%! YEA! :D
Water intake today- 3/4 gallon of water before 8pm. This time around when I have a protein shake or oats and I use water I use it from the 3/4 gallons not extra.
At 12pm, 6pm and b4 bed- 200 mgs, b-6, 100 mgs of potassium, and 1000 mgs of dandelion root....haven't even taken them yet and I am already feeling dehydrated. Oh ****.....

I have heard the same thing about Dream Tan...Pro Tan is what I used for my show, and I really liked the way that it went on...I say stick with what worked for you...with all the other stress, you may as well not have to worry about that, you know? Also, for my show, I wore Revlon press on nails...they come with glue and a bunch of different sizes...just a suggestion to you...don't know if you already had something else already picked out. They have colored ones and the french tip ones, that is what I used.
I'm so proud of you girl...who knew that you would come as far as you have in such a short amount of time? You're really an inspiration to all of us, I hope you know that!!! Good luck getting through the day...I'm thinking about you, roomie! :)

L- I got nails like that- they are french tips, but silver instead of white tips and they have lil gems all over them. I painted my toes silver to match. I hate doing this girlie stuff.....haha! Why can't I put my hair in a ponytail and strut out there?! ;) haha The main thing is I have used Dream Tan twice so far, but I always was disappointed with the pictures of my back pose and I wonder if the Dream Tan is taking away from my lines....I am wondering if anyone actually knows if it does ya know or if some people just think it does b/c they never had many lines?! haha

I am lucky- I only work mon- thurs, but my days are 10hrs instead of 8hrs. I don't have to take off of work...I get Monday off though! No hon I do go tanning only to tighten my skin- this type of tan you apply and rub into your skin- it's for competitions, not your regular everyday tan. That make sense? :)

SD- I have info from articles stating dream tan takes away from your lines b/c it is more of a lotion base. I have used it twice- last time over 2 coats of pro tan. MG- I know nrg has helped me lose some fat, but I use them more for when I am low carbing it and I need that energy. I don't suggest using them until like 4 weeks out from your show- and cycling them. Thermos can be very bad for you if taken the wrong way- don't want your body NEEDING them.

i have used dream tan over protan several times and i like the way it looks on me because i'm a fairskinned redhead but, when i do npc shows i don't use it because i have heard more times than i can say that npc judges don't like the look of it. pittsburg is a big npc show.....i would skip the dream tan and go with 3 or 4 coats of protan.

I can't remember where I read it....I am thinking on one of the flyers from a contest...that dream tan and pam (in place of posing oil) are frowned upon using.
Because dream tan rubs off so easily it gets onto other things and make a mess...I am not sure the reason for pam.
But in the same sense, I saw at the last comp. that both were being used. I dunno.
Even tho it is messy, I like look of dream tan, I use it myself.

I have a story for you cause I know all the crap you went through with your car. My truck (I have the big Envoy) has already been hit in a parking lot and the person just left. Today I was in a shopping center, in a store buying shampoo, and I come out and one of the workers in the liquor store a few doors aways comes running out and says that a lady hit my truck, got out and looked at the damage she did, and then drove away. He actually took down her license plate #! So, I called the cops to file a report (there is some pretty bad damage), and the cop came, ran the plate number, and actually went to her house right then! He said her car had my red paint all over it. It turned out she was 82 years old (not that that excuses her cause she got out and looked at the damage before she left), and now she (well, her insurance) is going to have to pay for the damage, and she got a ticket for leaving the scene of an accident. I don't have to shell out a dime! Yeah! (And I am getting the other damage fixed also- heh, heh). See, sometimes the good guys win!

Mommy- We do win SOMETIMES....the shop I have finally fixing all 3 dents is only making me pay 1/2 of what my deductible is(and yes they made me do 2 different claims=2 deductibles!!!!!)....which in fact still sucks b/c they were hit and runs, BUT he is fixing the sunroof, banging out my bent rim(yea apparently somehow it got BENT!!!) and filling in all the scratch marks from people keying it over the 2 years I have had it. I think I will sell it after he repairs everything....people just like to **** up nice cars that stand out- haha I wish it wasn't yellow now!!! ;) I think I might get a pick-up truck!!!
RH- haha the scar doesn't bother me much- I actually took it out for my 1st show cuz I thought I had to- after having it for 5 years that lil bugger wouldn't go back it....haha whatever!!!!! Knowing now about being on stage I wouldn't have changed a thing- I want the judges looking at me not my accessories!!! I know my moms happy it's gone now! ;) hee hee
and Emma the oats are ALWAYS what I have dreamed of....haha! .....waste of time!!!! I don't even want to begin about what a waste of time this show was for soooo many girls who worked so hard dieting and training. Let me start off by saying- yes, personally I was my best and I am happy w/ my appearance and progress. That is about the ONLY positive thing I can take from this show.
They decided to make only 3 height classes- which screwed up everything....besides their total lack of respect for us! There were 37 ladies in the short class ranging from me(the shortest) to 5'4". Only about 15 ladies in class b and c. They did not handle 37 ladies the right way. At one point we had been on stage for over 40 mintues posing and there wasn't enough room for all of us!! They split us up in groups of 20- 20 ladies on each side of the stage.....even then we were so close to each other it was ridiculous! The judges weren't even paying attention! Some were on cell phones, some talking to each other, others talking to people in the audience behind them...ect. It was totally disrepectful to us ladies. All around me we were bitching through our "simles' on stage that they weren't even scoring us! When we did our "comparisons" they just randomly picked numbers and kept them in those same groups for the 2 piece round. A few ladies didn't even go back out for the 2 piece round....I went out and gave my best- knowing it was a waste of my f******* time! Both ladies next to me were 5'4" which meant their shoulders were at my ear level- we had laughs about this...but the point of the classes is to make sure that does NOT happen. Oh and I forgot the WORST part, when we were up in our lines of 20 we didn't have enough room to do our front or back poses right. A few ladies actually started figthing on stage and elbowing each other!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU ARE GOING TO PUT ON A SHOW AND YOU END UP WITH 37 LADIES IN A CLASS...AT LEAST GIVE THEM ENOUGH RESPECT TO SCORE THEM AND WATCH THEM POSE...even if you have to pretend. We all worked hard deiting and training for this show and they chose to disrepect us in such an obvious manner....even the crowd noticed!!! Well....I had 2 choices, finish out the finals the next day and waste more time or save money on the hotel and tickets and leave Saturday morning and drop out of the show.....so we left Saturday morning. I double checked in "my rule book" to make sure this wasn't considering quiting- b/c I am NO quiter, but we are lucky......it doesn't count! ;) haha I guess making a joke out of the weekend is about the only way to make me feel a little better. Oh yea, and I basically did this show b/c the judges were the same as my other shows......which was not even true!

It was truely hard being surrounded by all these ladies who were all frustrated and felt like after all their hard work they didn't even get a chance to compete......b/c isn't that why most of us were there?! I am glad that I accomplished what I wanted to before I even stepped out on that stage b/c all there was on that stage was a ton of ladies who were overlooked.....and you could just feel the frustration and hurt that most of them felt. When you walk off the stage people aren't supposed to be crying and swearing....it was such a bad experience.
I am glad I went into the show just wanting to be better - I know I need to get bigger and that's my goal from here on out. This show hasn't made me any less passionate, I can leave it behind as a learning experience. Not all learning experiences are good ones. I do have pictures from the prejudging and I will be posting them soon. I am really happy with how they came out!!! I'll be back in the gym tomorrow so I can get HUGE!!! ;)

Some contests do have only 3 classes for figure. Julie Palmer is only having 3 ( up to 5'4", 5'4"-5'6", over 5'6" ) and I remember Dave Liberman had 3 classes as well. Just depends I suppose.
How were the women bb's ? When you get time, could you give me a brief description how they looked, how many, ect. I would appreciate it.

I'm so sorry about your bad experience! I have heard some nighmare stories back in my day. I do remember back then that a lot of the shows had 3 classes, and then an overall winner, and I remember the "short" class (that's what it was called) always had more than the others. That really stinks that everyone went out there and just got disrespected, it does nothing for the sport.
Dawn, you have a great outlook on the whole thing. Even though the show was technically a waste, you still know that you went into it in your best shape- and you definately improved from last time, and that is what counts. Your goal was to go in being better than your last show, and that's what you did- and that is what counts. It's all a learning experience.
So, now are you going back into a bulking stage?

BF- I realize many shows have only 3 classes, which does suck....that really wasn't even the problem. My main problem was the way we were treated and the organization. I mean knowing there were 37 ladies was like....geeez, but going out there and being a shadow compared to the lady next to you and not being able to hit your standards.....it was more than frustrating! I wasn't around for the womens bbing, sorry!! Their pre-judging and finals were saturday so I only got to see some Pro's(jay and ronnie!!!!!) and figure ladies......oh yea I got a picture w/ one of my fav bbers!!!!!!
I am about to start bulking, but this morning I am going for a much needed jog. I ate so much crap this weekend I need to get some cardio in. haahaa I will probably eat crap today as well...me and my roomies are having a cook out and I think I want a big fat BURGER! haahaa It's been decades I swear! I was supposed to go out last night drinking w/ my roomies for our b-day celebrations but this crappy food is really not liking my tummy so much!! I think by tomorrow I will be back eating pretty clean again. After I go grocery shopping I'll also probably get my leg w/o in today!!! :D

hey Dawn - wow, sorry about your experience. i can't believe that they would actually have a class of up to 5'4" since there are sooooo many girls in that height range, you think they would re-distribute the classes by only going to about 5'2", then 5'2" to 5'4 (or 5'5"), then the last class. i can't believe the judges acted the way they did also. totally disrespectful. i wonder where they are going with the class thing anyway. if they are going to downsize the number of total classes, they need to rethink the way the split them up. another friend of mine was in the show too (in your class) but i don't know how she did yet. seems like it was a total waste of time for alot of girls. well, keep plugging along - you look great and your gains are awesome! you should be proud!

Thanks ladies....I did feel like the show was a waste of time, but I still wouldn't have done it any other way. :) I'm not upset by the show or even really bothered much by it now....it's in the past now.... ;) I think it's easy to say I won't be competing in Pitts anytime soon though! haha ;)

You have a great outlook about your show. And to better things- you get to Bulk right now! YEY for Carbs!!!
All that matters is that you were looking your best and you put a ton of effort to getting to where you are. What an inspiring person you are to be able to come off a bad experience and the next day be back in the gym. you could have just given up- but you chose to continue being your best. That is a true person right there!

haha You guys crack me up! Of COURSE I am super happy w/ all these carbs!! :D I am going to attempt to hit between 2000-2200 cals daily. I think from cheating for those few days my body got used to me stuffing my face so it hasn't been as hard as I first thought it would. I think this week I will measure my waist, arms, legs.... I want to make sure I am making decent gains.
Trust me ladies.....w/ all the bad luck I have I HAVE to look at the positive side. Haha just today I found out to fix my sunroof would be $1500 and my rim would be at least $200...not to mention the shop who fixed my car did NOT match the paint on my car.....I want to scream after all that, BUT then I just think.....at least you are healthy, have a job, a great man.... :) Plus I get rid of all my frustrations at the gym....I feel all my strength slowly coming back- it's great!!! Soon I will be able to squat w/ 5- 45's on each side again!! haha Just kidding- I would probably fall over if I did that!!!

AE- You are hilarious!! :) I tend to hear "you are so cute," and I know it's b/c I am so damn small!!! I'm not cute, I'm beefy! haha ;) Okay on stage there are a lot of things you cannot see....blemishes and skin being 2 of those. I use prep-h on my tummy a week before the show in the tanning bed. This might work on tightening your skin, I also use a skin firming lotion- which does actually work(by jergens). Takes about 2 weeks for the lotion to start working. I swear the art of posing amazes me, you can see a female back stage and think hmm she isn't anything...then you walk out on stage and she poses her a** off and places 1st in her class. A little lift in the butt there and a twist and BAM you are the bomb! :D haha

They go through weigh watchers periods and dieting periods, but never stick to anything. My dieting has nothing to do with them at all- that's what you have to get through your head. It's for you, not them. It's YOUR weakness when they ask you, "you want to go out for drinks and wings?" and you say "yea!" Show them your dedication and strength by not eating what they have and by going to the bar with them, but having a water on the rocks! You will be completely surprised when people start telling you they envy your dedication and that you look insanely fabulous! By all means have cheats...you can use alcohol for cheats if you chose(in moderation)......just remember what your goal is. If you want to achieve that goal cheating isn't the way to do it. I actually really enjoy eating healthy....my body really hates crap now. When I lift now I can see veins and my muscles look great to me....that makes me strive to say no b/c I want to stay this way. For years I was so unhappy with my body...I wanted abs and to feel 100% comfortable in my skin...I thought I was just one of those people who could never have abs. Now I am educated and for the first time am pretty happy with my body. I know you can be what you strive to be.....you just need a little jump start.....here's a "kick in the butt" for ya! haha :)

That last post was also very motivational. :) I was having one of those low energy days for some reason, and hearing a bit more about your story and how far you've come has psyched me up for gymnastics class tonight! :D
As you know, I recently moved into a place w/ a pool, and realized the other day that I don't even care who's around when I'm in my bikini! I'm so much more confident and comfortable with my body since I've begun exercising. I have quite a way to go until I achieve my 'ideal' body type, but I am enjoying the results that I'm already seeing. :)

Okay I went home this weekend to pick up my now 2 colored car....I am sooooooooo mad about this car. I need to sell it before I drive it off a cliff!!!! ugh! Anyways....this weekend I TOTALLY cheated. I think I needed to give myself a little more time off than I thought I needed. Today I am back eating cleaner and hitting my cals again....this break was much needed. :D
I think my split is going to look something like this (am cardio twice a week):

legs and calves
chest and abs
arms and hiit
shoulders and calves
back and abs
85% for 20 mins- cardio

Bet you enjoyed the weekend, though! Do you feel worn down when you do cheat meals? I find that it really takes a toll on my energy levels. So keeping this in mind helps me to stay on diet.
Have you ever heard of nos being like a steriod? Or heard any negative side-effects for women taking it?

MJ-Yea it was nice to cheat, but I agree with you. Cheating kills my energy levels badly. My workouts aren't nearly as good. It was nice to go out to dinner with my family and not have them worry about if I couldd eat what they have though. I haven't heard of nos as a steriod at all. I can see the supplement as addictive though- the awesome bumps it gives you and vascularity. My friend Shane and I were talking about how much we both love it...and how we can see it being addictive. I am not currently taking nos though. What makes you ask? Have you heard an info on it?

The guy I get my nos from brought a different brand for my husband to take. I checked out the label, and the contents read as exactly the same, but my friend said that the brand for my husband is WAY stronger, and almost like a steriod. Kinda annoyed me, because why wouldn't I also take the better brand, too? It actually made me question why I'm buying HIS brand, if he himself claims that even though the labels read exactly the same contents, the other one is stronger. He suggested that the stronger one's for guys (but no such claim on label...)
What brand are you taking again?

I take NOW- but my friend Shane was telling me the brand he took was WAY better and that next time I buy some I should get his. DNS- it last longer and it's time released. He has tried many brands and states that DNS is the best by far, plus he researches everything 50 times over. He ssaid even when you wake up you feel great from it ect....There really should be no male/female nos....that's goofy. The NOW I was taking is the highest potentcy you can get. Does your friend really know about these products or is her just trying to sell them? What brand, mg...?

My strength is not coming back as fast as I thought it would. At the gym sometimes I am feeling kinda sick- I think it's my body trying to get used to bulking.....well I HOPE it is!!! I haven't benched yet so I think that will be the major test. I lost a lot of strength benching and I am hoping to get it all back plus some!!!! :)

That's the weird thing - He sold me his brand, but brought a different brand (not his own) for my husband to take, and said that the other company's brand was stronger (yet the labels read exactly the same ingredients). I'm getting all the sups for cost, so it's hard for me to want to switch brands, but now I'm wondering if his brands are insuperior in other cases as well? *sigh* I'm still seeing improvements, so I think I'll stick w/ it longer and if I come into money will try out a few other brands mid-summer. (Birthday money, maybe? lol!)

Some brands are for sure better than others!!! Be aware that maybe his products are cheaper....but that doesn't always mean they are better.

Steak does make my cals go up, but I have the range of 1900-2200 so I'm still good here! :D YEA!

I think it is normal after doing 2 shows back to back like you did and getting as lean as you did to need some adjustment time to get your strength back. I have no doubt you will be fine. Remember that you went from strict cutting to bulking rather quick, and your body is like WHoooo! Keep up with what you are doing- your workouts are great and I can't believe how many cals you are getting in! I sometimes have to sit there and think **** how am I going to get in more healthy cals, but you go! I am a steak person also- just make sure it is still moooing!

Okay my vent session....so I see this chick at the gym who competed in the Columbus show last weekend. She is telling me all about it and then says...."the girl who won was like 95lbs, just a tiny little thing!" &*^*(&%@&$@#%^#%!!! That will teach me to stick with my first decision on shows for the next time. The girl who won had my freaking body type.....haha and I chose to do a show w/ 37 ladies in my class.....haha! Go figure!!! I guess I can only laugh about it now! :)
Mommy- Oh my cows are always mooing when I eat them....thanks to my ex who works at outback I know how to eat my steak! ;) I think from going to lower cals to high has effected my body.....I have a tummy ache by the end of my w/os....I might have to move my cottage cheese to another meal. I can tell my strength is coming back slowly with my w/o today though. I incline benched 95lbs....which made me SUPER happy!!! Joe was spotting me like come on, come on, you got it....2 more...1 more! I love it b/c he doesn't try to help me unless he sees I cannot get it up...I hate when your spotter wants to grab the weights too fast before you even struggled!!!

Wow - That incline bench is really impressive! So that's using a bar? I've been using 25# dumbbells for mine, and am tempted to up the weight to the 30#, but it's tricky balancing them and dropping them at that weight.
Sounds like you've got yourself an awesome spotter - My husband's great for that, too, but we very rarely get to the gym together unless it's a weekend or holiday.

MJ- We never go together, but we go at the same times. I would have to use dbs if he wasn't around so I would never know my limits. We have actually been talking about switching our w/os so that we do shoulders and chest either together or on the same days b/c I can't do some exercises without a spotter. I only did 95 for my last 2 sets...not very many reps. Oh yea, that is with the bar. It sucks b/c my legs and bis are super weak and my tris, shoulders and chest are strong. I am a freak! haha My goal is to bench (3x10) more than my body weight or equal. I weigh 103/104 now so hopefully I can pull this off!

Okay I just need to vent really.....yesterday my roomie poked my belly and was like damn that didn't take much time! wtf....so I was like I am consuming 2000 cals my body has to get used to it. I know she didn't mean anything by it, but it hurt my damn feelings! Sorry I can't have rippling abs all the damn time!!!! Grrr...then just a few mintues ago I realized all these damn resumes I am sending off had a coverletter from an old place I applied to attached!!! OMG! So I was sending them a coverletter and a resume w/ a coverletter for a different postition as well....there goes my chances for all of those positions! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

It's hard to let things slide off your back all the time, so I'm not surprised that your feelings were hurt by your roomie's comment. I would feel stung, too. But, again, you're totally on track with your response - You body DOES need time to get used to it, and besides, you're bulking now so that those abs will pop even MORE next time around. :) Don't lose focus and keep in mind that it's probably intimidating for your roommate to live with someone who is in such killer shape when they know their health is lacking. Jealousy likely plans a part in that comment, too, which means they are only human. :) Your attitude is great (and I'm sure those abs are still showing through!!!)
