Well, I started to cut way to late(llike 10 weeks out when i should of done it 12-16 weeks out) I am 3.5 weeks out and at about 7-8% body fat.. In the gym and in the morning i look great full 8 pack and everything.. but at home i look like crap and im assuming because of water..

anyways.. im up to 5 hours of cardio a week and my calories r damn low (1800-2200 depending on what carb day).. im starting to carb cycle..3 no carbs 2 high carbs 2 low carbs

im thinking about saturday just going no to very low carbs until the show to lose that last 5-10 lbs i need to get into shape.. I still have some stubborn lower ab fat, lower back fat and need to bring up my legs a bit

It's my first show so any advice would be awesome.. thanks

How about, do the show for experience and then find another one a few weeks down the road...

Matt,

If you have another show availible within a short time and distance from your first one then do them both and then find another one two to three weeks later do that one and then call it quits for the year.

You will learn the ropes backstage and get your nerves out on the first one (which btw will make you retain water). By the second one you know what to expect so the nerves won't be an issue and you will have fine tuned your water issues by then too. By the time you hit the third one, drying out will be old hat, you'll have no nerves and you will actually have fun and probably place really well.

Don't make my mistake, I put waaaaaaaay too long between my first and second shows (6 weeks) and didn't have the stamina to make it to a third even if it was only a couple weeks after the second.

Good luck!! ~CG

I was in the same spot my first time around but competed anyway. I still looked like I belonged there but was definitely not in the shape I needed to be in. However, I'm glad I did it. The experience alone will make you gobs better for the next one. So go for it no matter what just like they said.

yea theres another show i could do 2 weeks right after this one.. I was looking foward to splurging and bulking right after haha but i may have to sacrifice that to do another show

thanks, thats what i was thinking.. even if i come in last i still proved to myself i could compete and will learn a lot

I think you'll be fine, you look better than I did my first time so don't worry about looking stupid or anything. I would say just practice your posing, watch videos, even get the posing dvd they sell on this site and you'll be solid. I would like to say on the rear double bicep that you shouldn't try to crunch your blades like it looks like your doing. Need to practice flexing your back while keeping your shoulders down and wide. You'll get it ;)

Yea man, don't sweat it, you look pretty good. It's really important to get the first one out of the way so you understand what show day entails.

Thanks :)

Saturday, if my trunks come in by then im gonna have my mom or someone take pictures of me posing outside.. I have been practicing my posing every night for 15-20 minutes before bed.. I still need to get my routine down though.. Its weird, like in the gym i feel like i look awesome and have full confidence in myself then sometimes at home i look like i should be 12 weeks out not three

I think its either water, or the lighting.. I am gonna start laying out as well so i have a good base before my pro tan
