Guys, I ran into a huge problem. ok, with bad form i could get 90 kilos and be able to get to the top without too much trouble, but with good form on my clean moving up to 95 kilos only allows me to get it once. I noticed my front squat max dropped for some reason even though ive been working on it over the summer, but its really getting to me. should i do dead stop front squats to help drive the bar back up to get to the top of the clean?

As much as I dislike discussing overtraining, if you noticed a decrease in strength (front squat), then one way or another you have overtrained. It could be personal stress, lack of sleep/nutrition, or just too much training. You need to figure that out first.

Also, when you are learning to lift properly, generally you will lift slower. Meaning you are putting less force into it. That is OK when you are learning the movement patterns. Once you are comfortable, you need to start putting full acceleration back into it.

Well, I'm almost positive I overtrained, and my nutrition hasn't been amazing but I've been able to get my daily intake of protein without eating junk all summer (I did eat junk but not more then once a week, probably less) Our football workouts are monday through thursday 7-10 am where we workout for the first hour and then do agility and speed training. Our days looked like this.

Monday/Wednesday Snatch, Backsquat, Bench
Tuesday/Thursday Clean or clean and jerk, Front squat, incline bench

we did that the whole summer, doing 3 sets of each of the lifts. The most reps we ever did was 5, the least was 1. Is this bad?

for football yea that is kind of a bad routine. You should be doing more than 5 reps somtimes ..........

Well you are doing a total of 12 hours of training per week. That is way too much for most people. Also after an hour of lifting, you do speed and agility training. How fast and agile can you be after three hours, and then doing it 3 more days in a row. Ouch. There isn't much you can do about it I guess. Maybe you can try to get away with just doing one set for each lift. Most sports programs try to turn you into a Marine instead of improving your performance.

Well it's almost over this year, as a matter of fact we're switching to just football now. When I have weight training I think what I'll do is on monday and tuesday do what i normally do, and on wednesday and thursday do maybe 10 to 20 percent less then what i normally do, that way the coaches won't get too bad (They're persistent on me especially, they expect me to be the national school-age champ)

when I was in football we only lifted 1x a week doing flat bench 2x6,squat2x6 and then dips to failurex1 and this in my opinion is what perfect for maintaining your strength . I am pretty confident that my coach knew what he was doing as well because he talked before about talking with a few guys from westside and also that workout helped me maintain my power to the highest extent i could have with so much other cardio and what not.

damn your summer workout camp is soo much easier than ours, we do say on monday:
squats(5sets)
cleans(5sets)
back (pullupsx2,reversepullupsx2,DBrowsx2,latpullsx2)
bench(4sets)
abs(8minutes)
all in 45mins, i puked a bunch of times its jsut too fast paced for me

then 45mins of the agility **** you do
