Heh - my point was that it's easy, with a little confidence, to fluster people. I'm obese, but I know I have a pretty smile and nice eyes, and sometimes I work it. Though I discovered this effect entirely by accident...

There was one day when I was in LA, around the time the pic I posted was taken, that I was walking down the street and a guy stumbled and fell off some steps staring at me. I thought, what the hell - do I have a huge bird poop on my shoulder? A massive booger? Do I look that fat in this outfit? He turned around, caught up with me, and asked me to stop a moment. He then told me I have the most beautiful eyes he's ever seen, and when I smiled, he clutched his chest and thanked me for it. A corny pick-up line? Maybe. But he didn't ask me for my name or number, just left it at that.

It made me re-interpret some of the stares I was getting, and when I smiled in response to them, instead of frowning and looking away, I found out that many of them were indeed positive, because guys would often compliment me. And I love seeing someone's face light up in response to my smile. If a simple smile can brighten someone's mood so much, then that's a real blessing.

(That guy may have been an angel, because no single person has done more for my self confidence.)


But, again, as I said - it's easy to fluster people with your attractiveness: a large part of it is genuine confidence, another part is a positive outlook.

Heh - my point was that it's easy, with a little confidence, to fluster people. I'm obese, but I know I have a pretty smile and nice eyes, and sometimes I work it. Though I discovered this effect entirely by accident...

There was one day when I was in LA, around the time the pic I posted was taken, that I was walking down the street and a guy stumbled and fell off some steps staring at me. I thought, what the hell - do I have a huge bird poop on my shoulder? A massive booger? Do I look that fat in this outfit? He turned around, caught up with me, and asked me to stop a moment. He then told me I have the most beautiful eyes he's ever seen, and when I smiled, he clutched his chest and thanked me for it. A corny pick-up line? Maybe. But he didn't ask me for my name or number, just left it at that.

It made me re-interpret some of the stares I was getting, and when I smiled in response to them, instead of frowning and looking away, I found out that many of them were indeed positive, because guys would often compliment me. And I love seeing someone's face light up in response to my smile. If a simple smile can brighten someone's mood so much, then that's a real blessing.

(That guy may have been an angel, because no single person has done more for my self confidence.)


But, again, as I said - it's easy to fluster people with your attractiveness: a large part of it is genuine confidence, another part is a positive outlook.

That's a great story. Thanks for sharing. Some times when we have a certain image of ourselves we assume everyone sees the same thing and it's just not true! I had kind of a similar experience when I was about 35lbs heavier than I am now. It helped me accept my bubble butt rather than hate it. Now I've lost some weight and firmed it up some and I'm actually damn proud of it! But, uh... to my knowledge I haven't caused any men to walk into traffic yet!! LOL

I go in there with one thing in mind, some Fish Oil. The lady there was really nice talking to me about the different kinds of Fish Oil they had available, so I pick one, go to the counter to pay for them and then I notice someone standing there to the side and there's this GORGEOUS guy just leaning on the counter watching me pay & all of a sudden I get nervous and can't really pay attention to what this lady was saying cause I just wanted to get out of there lol, so while I'm in my own world she asks me if I take a multi vitamin, I tell her no I just drink Ovaltine...lmao I must've sounded like an idiot to that guy, I dunno but my impression of Ovaltine is that little kids drink it..but I love chocolate milk and it's great for you so I drink it.. Anywho, all flustered I ended up spending $30 on Women's Ultra Mega vitamins too... I feel like such a loser lol, anyone else do anything similar or silly because of a guy?

Even though this dude was really really incredibly good looking, he was thinking the same thing when you were checking out. That really nervous frozen feeling you got when you saw him is amplified double when a guy sees a really pretty girl. Trust me! The same happened to me three weeks ago, but I gathered up the guts to go talk to her and now we are seeing eachother. Enough people on this board have already told you that you have the looks to be able to go and talk to him if you wanted to. I say next time you go in have him help you and see what happens.

I used to get nervous and stuff but now that I've gotten a bit older I've learned to quit caring about what people think of me.

I used to hurriedly look away and stuff like that when a hot girl would look at me... Now I don't worry about it, and usually make eye contact.



Every now and then I do get slightly self conscious... Doesn't last long though. The key is to not give a fxck.
