DO you ladies out there enjoy or appreciate it when your man or a guy you like cooks dinner or any meal for that matter for you?

This was a big reason I got my first girlfriend which sad to say was just last year(only lasted a month--she was crazy whic hI know sounds cliche but really, she was crazy..never talked to me about any problems and then ganged up on me at the last second and cut it before I had a chance to say anything ;( )

Anyway, I loved cooking for her and she always loved it when I did that. SO I was wondering who out there felt the same way and/or what your thoughts were on the subject.

Totally!! Often times I'll go shopping with my bf and buy grocieries, or we'll go half and half, because I buy healthy stuff. Then he's the one who cooks it. One time he surprised me with whole grain pasta shrimp scampi, it was so cute cause he hated it but ate it with me anyway hehe :D

I would love it! Unfortunately, my husband only knows how to use a grill and cooks red meat on it and nothing else. I think it would be very cute and romantic of him to attempt a full meal once, even if it tasted like crap.

It's a really good, innocent sounding excuse to get a woman to go back to your place, that's for sure... :-P

I LOVE it when a guy cooks for me. All men should learn how to make at least one meal to impress the ladies with. I don't know anyone who doesn't appreciate the effort put into that kinda thing. :)

I love when my husband cooks for me because 6months out of the year he is deployed and I have to do everything but when he gets home he does most of it during the week and I cook on the weekends. Gives me a much needed break. At first he was not that good of a cook but now after my coaching he is much better. If he cooks I clean up and if I cook he cleans up.

NOTHING is better than a man cooking for his girl....well okay.. almost nothing..lol

but seriously my guy has quite a few times, and it's been amazing..not just the meal, which is always fantastic (because he's a wonderful cook) but the thought and surprise of it!

I love it when a man cooks for me...even if its something simple it is still a romantic gesture. It means more to cook for me then to take me out to eat.

That's a very good system. Thanks you very much for sharing it with me and everyone. Best of luck to your husband and you and your goals. May he always come home safe to you. Take care!

I was about to say..there's got to be "something" ;) haha I'm glad to hear your man can cook and I'm even more happy that he's good at it and you enjoy his efforts. Best of luck to you both.

That's great to know, and yeah I personally think it'd more romantic than going out because YOU cook whatever SHE WANTS and YOU set the mood and well, after that you both won't be wanting morning to come too soon if you know what I mean lol. Thank you for sharing your view, I appreciate it!

I love it when my husband cooks for me, but it's not that much..so I take it as him being a little romantic :)

Maybe it's out of the norm, but my boyfriend does the majority of the cooking when it comes us actually eating together. If he didn't get into the occupation that he currently does, he would of went to school to be a chef. I cook for him maybe 1-2 times a week.

I think it's so sexy when a guy can cook...especially if they go all out. My ex tried to surprise me one night by cooking me this real fancy dinner, only for something in it to have made me sick later that night....lol. We still laugh about it, but it was definitely really sweet.

definatly it's a big ++++ when men can cook. i love to cook myself, unfortunatly my b/f can't even boil water, but he is good with a grill.

lets see come home from a long day at work and the gym with a hot meal on the table, not only hot, but healthy and tastes good...Yeah that's pretty much the way to my heart ;) But if you are living with someone I def. think it should be a joint effort, but for a guy to suprise you with dinner and a romantic setting, I'd have to say that's one of the best dates right there.

Right now I'm single by choice, but in previous relationships, every man I dated cooked for me, and it always made me feel special. There is something about watching a man in the kitchen that's very intimate. Maybe it's because it shows their gentle side. Also, some of the best chefs are men...so it makes sense I guess. :)

I love it when my fiance cooks for me- he is the only guy I have ever been with who gets that I eat a certain way, and he always makes sure that what he makes fits in my macros for the day, like chicken and rice, or other lean meat. It is MUCH appreciated after a long day at work AND a long day of explaining to EVERYONE why I am eating tuna and cottage cheese form my cooler! ( :

I'd rather cook together, to be honest - it's more fun and satisfying when you know you've both created something yummy together in the kitchen - which can lead to more yummy cooking in the bedroom! ;)

I have cooked many times for others. I dont really care who thinks anything of it. Your 22, a raging hormone like I was at 22 as well and your trying to score points in the owmens section by professing your love for cooking for women? No doubt you are one hard up guy who will reliquish his balls for any amount of female attention. Go find your balls there buddy!

hahahahahaha wow, another one of you. hehehe I just think it's absolutley wonderful how the guys take more offense and bash an honest nice guy such as myself in the women's forumn. At first it sucked I'll admit, but after a while it's kinda funny as it really lets me know what kind of person you or anyone that follows is, and for being 38 years old maybe you should be the one finding your balls or whats left of 'em. hahahaha man, Thanks for making my day better buddy! :)

i cooked for my ex, only cause i knew i was a better cook than her. besides, i enjoy it. it's instant gratification, knowing someone is savoring and enjoying something i just worked on. i enjoyed working at a restaurant for the same reason; instant gratitude for work performed.

op, it's a great way to woo a woman. invigorate those senses.

cook it when you want to, not when she wants you to, not when you are trying to get somebody back to your house, not when you did something stupid that requires 3 months of apologies.

Agreed... doing something like that as an apology, or to try to get someone back just comes off as manipulative.

Cook a meal when you feel like doing something special, because you're feeling good about the relationship and enjoy the time together. Do it for no particular reason.

Same applies to flowers.
If you only get a chick flowers when you mess up, it takes all the romance out of them and they become a symbol for you messing up.

I went round and made my girlfriend beans on the toast the other day because she had a cold. Iam not a great cook but I could tell it cheered her up.
