Have her talk to her doctor. Could be baby blues or post partum depression. If the latter, it's no joke and she needs to be seen. I had it very badly with my last child. Being as it's hormonal it's a lot harder to "just get over it" than plain depression. As much as you want to feel better you're body won't let you. Take care of it now sooner than later, trust me.

Is the depression affecting/keeping her from doing her day to day normal duties? Does she just want to sit and do nothing? Aries has the best advise, see a health care professional. My wife had PPD after our second child, very easily managed. As for what you could do, your doing all the thing we as husbands need to do keep giving her support. I hope all is well.

I felt most depressed the first few months after the baby when my husband would leave to do things and I was stuck at the house. Offer to watch the baby while she goes to a movie, for a walk, or out for dinner with some friends. Having half an hour or an hour of alone time really helped me. That's really great you care so much. Also, if you were to feed the baby for one or two of the night feedings that may help her feel like all the pressure isn't just on her. Also, avoid any weight questions, her body has been through a lot.
