thank god today was my cheat meal. this low super low carb thing has been tough the past few days, but i got on the scales this morning and the gym one finally went below the 140 mark...139 to be exact and the home one said 136, so it's working! :)

Nice!! That means you'll be in a good mood all the way until tomorrow morning when you get on it again and it reads over 140 as you'll be holding some water after your cheat meal today!!:D

And I'll be the judge of if it is working or not...full body inspection later to see this past few days results!;)

I highly doubt I could of stuck with it if I had hit some of the lengthy plateaus you've experienced this time around..... thank God for you you have that unbelieveably feisty, stubborn attitude that helps you power through!

125 is about 11% for me. i haven't been getting my bodyfat tested this time, but i was around 10% at 118 and 12% at 122 last year and i know i have gained some muscle mass so that's my guess. my trainer wants me to go in heavier this year and 125 is his guess for me. and thanks for the comp........god knows i'm trying!

I don't know someday ... not getting the recovery in the legs is not a good thing. Seriously, with your diet being so precise would you not benefit more from skipping that extra cardio session and getting in some recovery time? Or how about swimming?? Is that an option at your gym? I find that to be excellent cardio when the leggies are fried! Just some thoughts .. you are doing awesome!!!!

i know you're right game day, the thing is i'm really pissed that i'm not ready for the practice show i wanted to do this weekend. my diet has been to a tee and this time my body just hasn't reacted the same way it did last time. not to mention after 3 solid weeks of super low carb crap even though i see the changes happening i have to continue with it for two more weeks and it is making me extra moody. i'll be ready for the 8th and i will enjoy watching mr. s and my trainer on saturday.....i just wish i was ready to be up there with them.

ya got me.......i have not been in the best of spirits this week. i am debating whether or not to do the practice show. i am not as lean as i would like, but many of the same judges will be at both shows and i would really like them to remember me for the boston show. my body is changing daily now, so they would get to see the chubby me and the fit me. i just still can't believe that after 16 weeks of very strict dieting i am not as lean i would like to be. i did go back and do double cardio and i am going to help mr. s with his routine later tonight. he looks fantastic! i really think he has a good chance of winning his class this weekend. oh, and tonight i get to paint him.......fun fun!:)

too funny powells and thanks pilgrim :)

i have been super busy the last few days, but everything is great! i decided to do the practice show for fun and i am glad i did. i got to practice my posing and met a ton of great people at the show. i ended up taking third, which sucked since there were only three of us in the tall class, but i knew going in that i wasn't as lean i should be for a show. weird thing was they moved me to the middle for most of prejudging and had me there at the end so when they announced the winners we were kind of surprised, but no big deal i did what i wanted to do and when i talked to the head judge he said exactly the same thing....just need to come in harded in two weeks so i will continue doing double cardio until the 8th.

mr. s did an incredible job! he gave my trainer a run for his money to say the least! they had them out there for at least 10 minutes and there were only 3 of them. i was cheering as loud as i could and just so vey proud of him! i'll have him post a few pics later.

Just popping in to say your workouts are looking good!! You are SOOOO close now - Arggg!! Are you getting nervous?

What are your plans for your peak week? Are you going to be sodium loading?

thanks emma, i'm not nervous at all. especially after this past weekend. i know i'll pull it all together in the end. my diet is still the same low carb one i posted about 3 or 4 weeks back. my diet will change on sunday to an even lower carb diet to totally deplete and up my water intake to at least 2 gallons a day then i will drop water and carb load starting on wednesday or thursday depending on how i look. i don't do any sodium loading. this is a bone of contension in my house. i have eliminated all sodium from my diet except for naturally occuring and what's in my protien shake back from the beginning so to start fooling with it now just doesn't make sense. i'll keep up the double cardio until sunday at the very least and then see what i look like. it's crunch time, but i'm in the groove now.

went back and did chest w/ mr. s. also did 35 minutes on the treadmill. not bad for a days work. actually, i feel great right now since i got to have my cheat meal today. bowl of pasta, carrot cake and a scoop of ben & jerry's. yum yum! anyone would feel great after that!

Ive been trying for days to come here and let you know how much I appreciate every kind word and thought you have offered. I always feel like a champion by the time your through with me! Looks like your on blast preparing. Me too, and you got to admit, there is no other place you would rather be than in "Dream come true Mode"!

I posted some questions throughout the forum in re: to posing. I suck. Im cramping when setting legs. Any suggestions? By the by, whats the cut of your suit bottoms, they have a nice cut?

someday
04-27-2005, 06:21 PM
thanks angel eye :) as far as cramping two things come to mind....first, dehydration, many tend to cramp without suffient amount water intake. second, sodium, if your intake is not correct you also are more apt to cramp. also, sometimes taking a dose of potassium can help. my suits are both brazilian cut from jagware. the two piece is a v front and back.

as for my workout today, i was supposed to do legs w/ mr. s but, he bailed at the last minute since he was stuck on a plane in nyc. we will do legs tomorrow. i hit the treadmill for 30 minutes then the stepper for 15. finished up w/ some abs. kind of an easy day, but my diet was dead on. i'm doing the best i can do....only 11 days to go and i'm still not as lean as i'd like to be. i still can't tell how i look compared to last year...just have to wait and see.

Thanx much. I ordered from Jagware also. Im excited and want to call to see if he shipped, but I dont want to get on his nerves. v- cuts as well. This is deep I go from cover up and tee at the private beaches to threads of material
on stage for all to see AND be judged on it. Ha life is nice :>!

thanks ivy....i appreciate it!

we decided to split legs up today for our last leg workout before the show.
quads this morning- squats- 1 set w/ bar only for 20
3 sets of 12 w/ 135

smith machine leg presses - 3 sets of 12 w/ 180#s supersetted w/ db lunges- 3 sets of 10 each leg w/ 25# dbs

leg extensions- 2 sets of 12 w/ a drop for 6

will go back later for hammies and calves
sounds silly, but i'm dying to do cardio. i will resist the temptation....i keep telling myself....no cardio on leg day over and over again.

i was so pooped last night i forgot to post my pm hammie workout. it was brutal to say the least, but i t's the last day i'll train legs before the show so i made sure i tortured myself. we did hyper extensions, sldl, single and double leg ham curls, then i continues on my own and did some light squats, single leg presses, bb lunges and some abs to boot. wonder why i was pooped? :)

i did go to bed early last night. ate at 9:00pm fell asleep and woke up at 8:00 am. i think i needed that more than anything else!

did 15 minutes of hiit on stepper and 30 on the treadmill. i am going to practice posing later with heidi fletcher. she won figure short, fitness and overall at the new englands last year. hopefully i'll get a few good tips.

posed for about an hour and a half. went well and met a couple of other great ladies that will be in my class. i also did shoulders and 45 more minutes on the treadmill. it's almost 10 and i still have to eat again. i'm a bit behind meal wise today, but i got alot accomplished.

powells- i wanted to practice w/ heidi because she is a natural. this girly stuff really isn't my thing....i have to fake it. so i need all the practice i can get. not to mention, the more i put my suit on in front of others the more comfortable i am. i really can be a shy one sometimes. she gave me some tips about leaning a certain way to enhance my build and show off my figure to the judges. also worked on relaxed poses....which are not relaxing to say the least. mr. s better have enough energy to give me a back rub because my lower back is killing me.

just got back from my second trip to the gym...we did back. short and sweet. pullups- wide and close, rows and single arm low rows supersetted w/ lat pull downs. posed for a couple of minutes but, i think i'm done for the day. i am supposed to be backing off my double cardio sessions even though i feel like i still need them. my legs are tired so we'll see.

I'm the same way! I need mine to come in now so I can just wear them every day. LOL Brian (hubby) says I really carry myself with confidence, but I feel shy on the inside, so I don't know what's going on with the outside. :D I'm definitely not a stage person and have never had the mindset of "Here I am -- look at me, I look great!!" Mine would be more like, "May I have a towel to cover my ass in this skimpy suit?" :D

Pam & Kristy have been helping me, plus my posing tape, and I hope to take some posing classes in Charleston as I prepare.

Happy Monday!

LOL i've been letting thinks go big time. at least it looks great now. it's 9:00pm and i just took a bath and am making my last meal. i got meal and water plan today for the week. my diet is still the super low carb one except no egg whites anymore. drinking 2 gallons a day for now, that's the other reason i've been so busy.....i've been peeing half the day. :)

ok hibby.....now that i've stopped laughing and cleaned up the crystal light i spit all over the desk..i wanted to say thanks, that's a good one! although i have to admit mr. s has been holding me together the last week or so. i have been an emotional mess and he had done everything in his power to try and help me stay relaxed and focused on my goal. i've said it before but, iam amazed how he has been able to do all he's doing and work full time. i have the luxury of time on my side and i'm still stressing...he's got it all together and just has to coast on in.

powells- i look really really good but, not great. that's my own harsh judgement of myself. i'm hoping my stage presence has improved enough to give me a shot at the top 5. never know what the judges are looking for exactly...so, we;ll see.

just realized i never posted what i did yesterday. i did 15 minutes of hitt on stepper and 15 on level 6 reverse direction. then 15 on the treadmill. also did a total body workout later in the day.

i have had a lazy day so far today. i'll do another total body workout and cardio later tonight. gotta go get some more water now. 5 days and counting!

Hey Shelli -- Good luck on Saturday! I read most of your journal yesterday and was so excited when I figured out how close you are! Are you dying from all the water intake? i will take tons of pics and i may even post a before and after now that i'm finally down to my goal weight of 125. i probably will end up a bit lighter than i thought. my body was just stuck for so long but, now it's flying off by the day. it's very cool seeing all the changes at the very end. i'm so relieved it's finally coming together! i have 2 more no carb meals then i'm doing a light carb load for a day and a half. my water is just starting to decrease now. i can only have 3/4 of a gallon today which used to sound like alot but, after drinking 2 gallons for a few days seems like nothing! no working out or cardio today just some posing later on. i actually had to go and get my bikini top taken in yesterday. it was fine 2 weeks ago in maine but, when i put it on to practice this past weekend my friends all suggested i have it taken in a bit. damn weight stays stuck to my ass and just loves coming off my chest. it's all good though. i am finally starting to get excited!

Well, did some posing with her tonight...she is looking GREAT!! Way too concerned about her backside being soft..... it was last year when she came in at 118#'s to the New Englands and she still did awesome. Her lower back has made a 100% improvement in the past two weeks, her arm and shoulder definition have come in and she definitely looks fuller than at any point last year. For some reason her abs aren't as pronounced, but her waistline is as tiny as it has ever been. First coat of Protan is on her (I soooo love to paint that beautiful body of hers!!!:D ), it's just about game time!

thanks everyone! today is an easy day. all i have to do is get my nails done and practice posing w/ mr. s. well, we do have to paint each other at least 3 times today and bring the kids down to my parents house which is a three hour round trip excursion.

as for meals i eat 1/2 cup of white rice meals 1 and 2 then 1/2 cup of sweet potato meals 3, 4 & 5 but, the best part is i get to have my cheat meal tonight.....small bowl of pasta w/ evoo & basil and even a piece of chocolate cake and scoop of icecream for dessert. i only get a cup of coffee and 1/2 gallon of water all day. that's the hard part!

we got home at about 12:00 am last night.......very long day! we had a great time and a happy mothers day. i had 15 girls in my class and i did get a call out in my one piece outfit but, didn't make top five. i think i ended up around 8th but, i didn't stck around to get my scores since it was so late, the new chairman is great and i am sure he will be helpful in getting them at a later date. i am very dissapointed i didn't place but, i do feel like i looked my personal best. i weighed 122 that morning which is what i weighed at my last show but, my body has changed. my shoulders, arms and back have all improved and have more size on them. my backside tightened up enough to be presentable but, is still my downfall. i thought since my squats had gone up so much this year that my backside would be tighter but, no such luck. next show.....stepmill, stepmill and more stepmill even though i hate the damn thing!

as for mr. s........i'll let him fill you on the hevyweight class. i'll just say i was more than proud of him and tony! they both were fantasic!!!

i'll have mr. s post some pics later on. and again...thank you for all of the support and encouragment throughout this 18 weeks of dieting. many of you really helped me stay focused on my ultimate goal of doing the best job i could and that i did do!!!

Don't be upset!! You have NO reason to be. You dieted well and then you got up and did your best!! What is there to be disappointed in? Sure, if you cheated and slacked off on your cardio THEN you would have a reason to be upset with yourself - but I think you need to congratulate yourself for getting to competition and give yourself a GOOD rest (and lots of cookies!!) as a reward! ;)

in the first pic i think the top 4 are next to each other. the blonde in the aqua was first, the brunette in black was second, the brunette in aqua was third and the brunette in purple next to the winner was fourth. i'm not sure who placed 5th. i think that's right anyway.

In the second and third pic, the brunette to the far right looks nice. I think you look just as nice, but she seems like she's in the running. How did she place? In the first pic, the women you listed as the first 4 look nice, but so do you. It's weird -- wonder how they choose? It definitely looks like from those pics you should have been up there with them. I guess you have to be there in person to see the differences. I dunno. I've been to a couple of shows and have thought "What?!" when they make some of the choices.

she got called out but, i think she was squeezed out of the top 5. she placed last year though. i think the girl on the end that is kind of cut out beat her for 5th but, i'm not sure. i don't know how they choose. it is so subjective. i still shaking my head trying to figure it out myself. i think i ended up 7th or 8th to be honest. i did my best....just wasn't good enough or what they wanted i guess.

found out last night i did place 7th. not top 5 but, pretty damn close. they throw out high and low so i ended up w/ a 5th, 7th, 8th, and two 10ths??? talk about all over the place? this is why figure is so subjective....much of it is in the eye of the beholder. dave follensbee, the new chairman, was awesome about getting right back to us and even sent along some good critisism. he suggested i work on getting my arms, shoulders and back bigger for more of a v shape. not what i was expecting to hear but, i will work on that along with my backside for next season.

ok........here's the scoop........

i've been eating and drinking since sunday night and now officially feel like a beached whale. i have done some cardio, 30 minutes, on wed, thurs and fri but, didn't pick up my first weight until this morning. i plan on eating clean for the next week before we go to disney. i've gained about 8 pounds back...of course it's all water but, i would like to look good in my bikini down there so i will go back to a fairly low carb diet for the next week.

my next goal is to compete on sept. 24th at the npc show in manchester, nh. our new district chairman runs it and i'm sure it will end up being a great show. time to end this journal and move on. again, thank you to everyone for all of your support and encouragement.........i truely appreciate all of your kind words!
