I haven't done body measurements in awhile, but I will do them this week and post all the details...along with pictures :D.

Monday: Legs

Friday: Shoulders (Light right now as I am going to have surgery on them soon) :(

I include one or two exercises of Abs every other workout

My plans for the next month...

-How I feel mentally and physically in the gym and out
...and of course get PUMPED!



I'd like to thank Athletic Edge for giving me the opportunity to test IntraXCell. I appologize for not getting this log up sooner, but I had issues with my gym, shoulder problems (surgery soon, which blows), and finished off another log. I will do my best to provide as much detail as possible all month!

First day....

I haven't been to the gym in 2 weeks now (trained at home) because my gym closed down on me, and today was the first day back at a real gym.
So I did legs...took 3 caps before the workout, and didn't really feel anything. Workout was nothing special, although lifts were good. :cool:

HOWEVER! after my workout when I took another 3 caps....well lets just say it's now an hour later, and man my body has "pins and needles" all over it. Like every part of my body is driving me crazy right now. But that has to be a good thing right?? All I know is that IntraXCell is doing something to me already! :eek:

I can only imagine the prickling is a good thing...2 hours after the end of my workout, and its gone :D. Well i did take a shower and eat, maybe that helped...

What is the prickling I feel when I first take Beta-Alanine?

The prickling - called parathesia - is caused by beta-alanine binding to nerve receptors, activating them and causing them to discharge/fire. Many of these nerves are below the skin, giving a prickling/pins-and-needles sensation. This sensation begins approximately 15-20 minutes after ingesting beta-alanine and usually continues for 1-1.5 hours. The intensity varies depending on dosing, individual sensitivity and potentially from activators of Ca2+ channels, such as caffeine. This sensation, though generally enjoyed, often subsides over a few weeks of continued use. Carbohydrates/food may also blunt the prickling effect from beta-alanine.


If I don't feel the prickling does that mean beta- alanine isn't working on me?


The prickling sensation does not occur at all in some individuals, even when taking 4-6 grams of beta-alanine at one time. Do not worry if you are in this group. The prickling is NOT a sign that beta-alanine is working or being absorbed by your muscles and converted to carnosine. If you are feeling nothing, you need not be concerned as it is still increasing your carnosine stores as research has repeatedly shown.

A good example of this phenomenon is when combining carbohydrates with beta-alanine. Not only do carbohydrates blunt much of the prickling sensations, they also increase beta-alanine's performance gains faster than beta-alanine without carbohydrates.

Another good example is comparing studies that measure carnosine concentrations using multiple small 800 mg doses of beta-alanine vs. studies using multiple doses of 1.6 g of beta-alanine. The total daily amount of beta-alanine ingested is similar and the duration of the studies using both dosage strategies is matched up as well. 800 mg is low enough to cause little to no prickling, based off feedback from both research and anecdotal, where as 1.6 g can cause quite a lot. The outcome of both studies showed carnosine concentrations were very similar.

Wow what a great day yesterday.....NOT.

Wow I was so pissed last night. First I get stuck at work...then I got stuck in traffic for 4 hours (usually takes me 40 minutes to get back home). So when I got to the gym, already being super tired, it was closed. :mad:

NOT A GOOD DAY. Well it happened, needless to say I didn't take any dose yesterday because it was very late, and I thought I was going to take IntraXCell pre and post workout.

Anyways today I'll be trying out the Steel Edge Sample Packet along with the IntraXCell.....looking forward to this :D.

I stacked the Steel Edge along with the IntraXCell today...and man it was awesome!

The start of my workout was TERRIBLE as the prickling was so intense that I had trouble doing my first couple sets on bench.
Oh yeah, it was chest day....
But after 2 doing flat and inclines, the prickling went away...
However, I my muscles were getting so pumped, so much blood in them, so quickly....that it became hard to finish reps. My triceps got so swollen that I could full extend on the rest of my chest exercises. lol.

So clearly since my chest got swollen so much, and since I had so much energy (Steel Edge), I decided that I might as well do Triceps as well...
That was a good choice, as I absolutely destroyed them!

Did some cardio after because I still had energy in my system....

I was hoping that the prickling wouldn't come back after i took the intraXCell after my workout...but I was wrong, 15 minutes after I took it and....PINS AND NEEDLES....I must say that I don't really enjoy this feeling, but I'll get used to it...Hey i'll probably start enjoying the feeling! :cool:

Thanks! :D Yeah the problem is that if blood goes into my head, then the prickling is in my head, and thats the bothersome part. But other than that I can handle it....it'll be worth it!

I'm pretty excited as I write this. I mean these supplements work....already!

Once again I combined my Steel Edge with the IntraXCell....and boy I tell you, this stuff works!

I was DEAD tired after work, but 30 minutes after I took my Steel Edge I was ready to ROCK N' ROLL!

The prickling feeling still came up with the IntraXCell but it wasn't as intense as yesterday....

I worked out back today, all lifts were strong, but once again my arms filled up way to fast with blood. Man this is a good thing, but also a bad thing. I can't do as many reps as normal because I physicaly can't, i have the energy but I can't bring the weight up all the way. For an example when doing Barbell rows, after a set, I couldn't bring up the bar all the way to my chest...
sooooooooooooooo like I said, this is a good thing that I got pumped up so quick, but bad cause I wanted to do more reps...hahaha :cool:

So without a doubt this product works...and the prickling deminishes with time...or possibly with what you eat...either way, it gets better and that makes me a happy camper.

I'm trying something different today....dividing the dose into 3. So I'm taking 2 caps at noon...then when around 5pm i'll take 2 caps preworkout and 2 post. I want to see if the prickling subsides :D.

My appologies about not updating in the past couple of days...i've been busy with the new Controlled Labs Eating Contest...hahaha :D.

Anyways I took Saturday and Sunday off, but still took the dosage spread out over the day. On Saturday However i took my dosage on an empty stomach and for some reason I started feeling like absolute SH*T! I started sweating up a storm in my buddies car even though the A/C was cranked. I felt better after an hour after I got some sugar in me.
Not really sure why this happened. But from now on I'm takin each dose with a full meal.

Yesterday I continued with the 3 doses (2 caps, 3 times a day). I feel that this works better for me as the prickling is much less aggressive and I am sort of "loading" throughout the day, so I go into my workout with more confidence and feeling better. :D

I had a light delt workout (shoulders are screwed up, possible surgery soon) along with abs and a H.I.I.T. session. I haven't noticed a strength increase yet, but the pumps are definetly there! :cool:.

I'm hoping that in a week the strength will come to play and i'll be able to give better feedback :D.

Shoulders/Abs AND HIIT is intense! I can never workout and do HIIT in the same session.....good job!

BEST FREAKIN LEG WORKOUT IN A LONGGGGGGGG TIME!!!!

I'm serious when I say it was amazing. I did squats, hack squats, leg extensions, stiff leg dead lifts, leg curls, standing calv raise, seating calv raise and 20 minutes of cardio. And it felt like OUCH! :D. Ouch in a good way....or should I say it felt like BURNING (Ralph Wiggum...god the simpsons movie rocked my world!)

So I'm super pumped right now about the way these two products work (oh yeah I combined the steel edge and intraXCell).....they are one of a kind. Just awesome!

Here are 2 pics I took after my leg workout today...just to see if I will make progress..and yes I am carrying some extra fat due to some cheating lately! lol :D

Yep. I always feel great when the workout is over and I have really worked them hard, but I almost have to convince myself to work them out each week.

Crazy Asz Back Workout today!

First of all I biked to the gym today (20k), which was awesome. But saying that I thought I would have little energy doing my workout. Boy was I wrong.

I started off by warming up with lat pull downs...fine and dandy.

Then I did deadlifts. And man, I haven't been able to go too heavy in a while, but I managed to get to 5 plates for 5 reps! :D. Makes me really happy!

Then did some T-bar rows, went up to 5 plates on this too.

Then seated rows. One arm dumbbell rows, and then i was toast.

Took a little break, downed some gatorade and biked home. And now....eating some bagel bites! Controlled Labs Eating Contest Takes over me! :cool:

First of all I biked to the gym today (20k), which was awesome. But saying that I thought I would have little energy doing my workout. Boy was I wrong.

I started off by warming up with lat pull downs...fine and dandy.

Then I did deadlifts. And man, I haven't been able to go too heavy in a while, but I managed to get to 5 plates for 5 reps! :D. Makes me really happy!

But damn I had a really good workout. Shoulders was on the agenda. And if you've read any of my previous posts, my shoulder are ****ed. I was about to have surgery in fact, but instead 6 months of physio are in my sight :mad:.

But the pain that surrounds my delts didn't stop me from at least trying a workout. I actually managed a pretty solid performance. Barbell Shoulder Press, Military Front Press, Side Laterals, Front Raises, Shrugs, Rope Pull Ups, One Arm Side Raise. They all went fairly well. I mean I was in pain doing some sets, but afterwards, due to the increase blood flow in my body, I felt great. As a matter of fact I feel even better today. :cool:.

I'm limiting my shoulder workouts to once every 2 weeks. But I am really happy about my performance yesterday. :D

They are pretty good, but if your eating 30+ in 2 minutes, you don't realize what they taste like lol. It's really just a mini bagel with tomato sauce and cheese, nothing too complicated :cool:

HOLY JUMPING JACK! I HAD A GREAT LEG WORKOUT!

Wow! Just awesome. I can't walk at ALL today. Thanks god I my job requires my sitting infront of a computer and designing and calculating.

The Workout was sweet, althought it was MAD hot in the gym!

Leg Extension were the warm, did 2 sets, fairly light, high reps.

Then went on to squats, did 5 sets, 1 plate, 2 plates, 2 and a 25, 3, 3and 25 and finished off with 4.

Then Horizontal leg press, did 4 sets

Then Vertical Leg press, did 3 sets

Then one leg, leg curls, did 4 sets, went heavy here, or at least my hams started cramping up.

Then went back to leg extensions and went heavy for 3 sets.

Needless to say I was tired, hot, and hungry after that workout. I can't wait to do the next one...or wait, maybe I can. Oh legs...:D

Wow! Just awesome. I can't walk at ALL today. Thanks god I my job requires my sitting infront of a computer and designing and calculating.

The Workout was sweet, althought it was MAD hot in the gym!

Leg Extension were the warm, did 2 sets, fairly light, high reps.

Then went on to squats, did 5 sets, 1 plate, 2 plates, 2 and a 25, 3, 3and 25 and finished off with 4.

Then Horizontal leg press, did 4 sets

Then Vertical Leg press, did 3 sets

Then one leg, leg curls, did 4 sets, went heavy here, or at least my hams started cramping up.

Then went back to leg extensions and went heavy for 3 sets.

Needless to say I was tired, hot, and hungry after that workout. I can't wait to do the next one...or wait, maybe I can. Oh legs...:D

Quick overview of my workouts

Aug 10th

Back Day

Fantastic.

Deadlifts felt great! Squeezed every rep and went heavy too. This def. took a lot out of me. But I moved on.
Lat pulldowns followed, then Barbell Rows, then T-bar Rows, Then finished off with Seated Cable Rows.
A great workout overall...in fact it's always fantastic whenever I don't pull my back (I have a lot of back problems ever since I went treeplanting a couple of years ago)

Aug 11th
Hams/Calvs/Bi?s (planned)

Yeah I weird combination, I know. But it worked for me. Did some leg curls to warm up, then did some Romain Stiff Leg Deadlifts, but of course I was an idiot and forgot I did deadlifts the day before..so they didn?t go as well as planned. Hahah. But still got a nice stretch/worked them hard.
Then did seated calv raises, donkey calv raises and standing calv raises.

By this time it was sooooooooooooooo hot in the gym, that I decided to call it quits as I couldn't see anything infront of my eyes due to the enormous amount of sweat dripping.

Aug 12th
Chest/Bi's

So because I didn?t do bi?s the day before, I decided to do them after chest today.
Chest was fine as always. Started off with some incline barbell presses, then dumbbell flat, I wanted to do flies, but as soon as I tried to do them, my shoulders gave (yeah tons of shoulder problems). So I did some dips (hurt a little in the shoulders, but not that bad), then cable crossovers.
Did some preachers, barbell curls and hammer curls for bi's, went heavy and got a nice pump and really couldn't do anymore.

Then I went home and ate oats?LOTS OF OATS (Check the Cheat Contest Thread, hahaha)

OFF - Bought my first car today :D ...old car, but wheels nonetheless....

That's today and I'm at work. So far my workout has been typing on the keyboard and mixing my protein shakes. Not too bad so far, getting some pains in my hands.


OVERALL: So far I haven't REALLY noticed any strength increases. What I HAVE noticed was the fact that I am able to contract my muscles a lot more during my reps, which I think is even better. I get way better pumps and am able to finish off my workout faster because of that. So far no complaints, however the prickliness has not subsided yet which is kind of annoying, but getting used to it...

Hahahah yeah. That's exactly it.

Workouts have been going well....Did Hams and Delts Yesterday, everything went well, except the pain in my shoulder made me hault my workout :mad:. Hopefully they will get better in the next few weeks of physio.

Wednesday August 15th

Quads

Leg Extensions, Leg Press, Lunges, Vertical Leg Press.

Managed to do 21 sets, 6 sets, 5 sets, 5 sets, 5 sets, respectively

Strength and energy is maintaining as I am lower on carbs, I am able to fully contract/extend the muscle. This resulted in limping on the way home due to extreme amounts of blood and tearing in the muscle :D.

Thursday August 16th

Back

Deads, Lat Pull Downs, T-bar Rows, One arm dumbbell rows, seated rows

20 sets, 4 sets each exercise.

Great Workout, nice pump, lats hurting like crazy as is my lower back. I love how the IntraXCell is letting me get the full range I want when doing a rep. It's AWESOME!

Friday August 17th

Bi's/Tri's

Supersets
Preachers/Rope Pulldown
Skull Crushers/hammer curls
Super Close Grip bench/Incline Dumbbell Curls
Concentration Curls to finish

SUPER PUMP. Crazy, my bi's and tri's filled up with so much blood that they looked like they were about to EXPLODE. SICK SICK SICK. Love these kind of workouts!

Saturday August 18th and Sunday August 19th. OFF....Car Registrations, Cheating (What I do best), and Dragon Boat Racing (That was a workout in its own....2nd out of 60 boats.....pretty damn good if you ask me)

Monday August 20th

Chest
Bench 135,185,225,275,315...all good reps felt good.
Inclies, 90's, 100's, 110's, 120's...stopped after 3 reps on 120, shoulders started hurting like crazy
Dumbbell Flies, 50's, hurt too much, so I went down to 30's, still hurt, but I was able to get a nice pump.
Weighted Dips, 25, 45, 90. Surprisingly my shoulders didn't feel it that much
Cable Cross Over's, 40,50,60,70,80...Finished off the boobies with these.

Tuesday August 21st

Delts plus 1 hours of cardio :eek:

So I did my 'light' delts as I sometimes try to attempt, side lateral raises, front raises, rear delt 'flies', Did some shoulder dumbbell Press, only went up to 50's, and that hurt. Then Front military Press....

Then went on to do cardio at max incline speed walking for an hour....didn't even want to do an hour, but Seinfeld was on and I didn't even notice the time fly by :D.

Wednesday August 22nd

Legs

Super close feet squats on smith.....THIS KILLED!!!
Leg Extension
Vertical Leg Press
Seated Leg Curl
Lunges

Could barely walk after this was over!!

Great Great Workout. Just awesome... however as I went back to the change room to take my IntraXCell?I realized I had only 4 tabs left!!! So I took them all to finish off a great workout and a great time on this supplement.


So what can I say about this product... It's awesome! I have been cutting all month (well except for my cheat days), and I am sure that IntraXCell has helped to maintain my strength throughout the weeks. I didn't really notice a strength INCREASE, but I was expecting a strength DECREASE, but that didn't happen, so that's amazing!

The pumps were spectacular! I was able to contract my muscles every time exactly the way I wanted. This to me is the most important part about any workout. I wouldn't care if I didn't lift a lot, but if I the contraction was great, then I would be COMPLETELY SATISFIED.

So if you have any other questions, please ask and sorry about the delay in posting. I won't do that in future logs?...
